Is It Annoying?
Recently, I was mentioning my story around some of my friends before school, and talking about how I try to make each chapter 2,500 words, not including an author's note. That was when a friend commented that she always found it annoying when someone wrote notes after every chapter unless what they had to say was important.
Is it annoying? Like, I've looked back on my notes from my first book (the cringeworthy thing that is my One Direction saga, which I should delete but I don't have the heart to take it down when it has so many freaking reads) and I know they aren't all necessary, but I thought they were nice ways to show my thought process or try and get to know readers if and when they ever commented. Plus, I always put them at the end of chapters so people could easily skip over them if they didn't feel like reading it. I just published a new chapter of The World Will Know (shameless self-promo) without an author's note and it felt weird.
So, what do you think? Is it annoying? I mean, I know only one person actually seems to read these (you know who you are and I thank you immensely for it), but I'm just curious to be honest.
