12)Mother Knows Best

A/N: I'm not getting any feed back from you guys. I know you're reading because I see the votes. Do you like how the story is going ? should I change anything ? is there something you want to see ? please let me know !

The next day after school, I was walking hand-in-hand with Dixie out to my dad's car and could barely see due to the anxiety I was having. Dixie and I hadn't discussed anything about our "seeing" each other but her hand was the only thing tethering me to the ground.

Right in front of the impala, Dixie placed her hands on my shoulders and spun me to face her. "Now, Dee, everything will be great. Haven't you always wondered what your mom was like? and if she missed you? Now you get to find out. So... good luck, babe, call me later." She kissed my forehead then gave me a big hug.

I forced a smile through my shaking teeth and promised I would call then got in Dean's car. He held up two small pink pills and a raspberry lemonade to me. "Adapin?" I asked and he nodded so I quickly swallowed them. Adapin was my anti-anxiety medication. I took the granola bar from him and ate it. Taking my pills without good often made me nauseous.

"Are ready for this, princess?" he asked and gave me a worried side-long glance.

"I think so... I've kinda been waiting for this for a while. What if she doesn't like how I turned out?" I began hyperventilating and prayed the meds would kick in soon.

He pulled into a parking space outside the burger joint where we were meeting Alice. He lightly grabbed my chin and turned me to face him. "Then it's her loss. Cuz you are a great kid. I'm ready when you are."

I waited, doing my breathing exercises recommended by Lisa, until my hands stopped shaking. Then I nodded to Dean. "Donny. Low Rider." he gave me a weird look and I repeated myself.

I saw realization cross his face and he clicked on his phone for a couple seconds before the song began to play. At the same time, we started rolling our hands in circles and nodding before pointing and saying, "let's go!"

When we walked in I stopped at the door to look around. I had no clue what she looked like but I had a feeling that I would know. And I did. She looked like an older version of me, but not much older because she was only 33. Her platinum-blond hair was cut in a choppy, pixie style. I must have gotten my eyes from whom ever my biological father was because she had big amber eyes that were neatly done with thin black eyeliner and shimmery brown shadow.

She must've sensed it was me as well because when she glanced at me she looked again then stood up with a nervous smile on her lips.

Standing next to her I knew I got my small stature from her; she only stood about an inch above me. She held a hand out for me to shake and my heart dropped a little. But I shook her hand anyway and sat at the table across from her and Dean sat next to me.

"Is her," Alice coughed. "Mother coming?"

"Mother?" Dean asked.

"Yeah, I spoke to Cassandra on the phone? I assumed you both would be here..."

Dean and I looked at each other and started laughing. "Her father is named Castiel. She has two dads."

Alice turned fifty shades of red. "I'm so sorry. I assumed Cas was short for Cassandra. And he sounded like a woman on the phone."

I gave Dean a pointed looked and he raised his eyebrow at me. Cas never sounded like a girl, not even on the phone.

"Well, I'm Kennedy. But in sure you knew that since you named me..." I then remembered my first conversation with Mika and knew I had to ask. "Why did you name me Kennedy?"

Alice chuckled and looked down at her coffee. "In high school, I had an obsession with JFK. So when I got pregnant with you I knew that's what name I would give you. He had the best hair... I actually wanted to name you Kennedy Lucifer but my parents said that wasn't okay. So I have you my middle name."

I looked up from the chicken strips I was picking apart. "I... I have your middle name?"

Alice nodded. "Alice Alexis Kohlberg. But now that we know each other's names... how are you? I've missed so much..."

"I'm... good." I debate telling her about everything with my first home and sophomore year but figured that should go unsaid. "I'm happy with Dean and Cas. They're great."

Dean laughed. "Glad you think so." so I elbowed his ribs.

"Good..." Alice stood up. "I have to pick up my son from soccer now but I would like to talk to you more... I hope we can stay in touch." she gave me a small hug then left.

I meeped and then placed my head on the table. My anxiety spiking way above normal.
