Annabeth's POV

"Are you ready for the biggest nights of our lives, ladies!" Piper squealed. It was prom night, and she insisted that we come over and let her help us get ready.

"Yes!" Calypso and Hazel were almost as excited as Piper. Almost. I was pretty sure it was impossible to be as excited as Piper about this.

"Whatever." Reyna shrugged. She said prom wasn't really her thing, but Piper forced her to go anyway. As for Thalia, Piper couldn't even manage to get her to come. And Piper can be very persuasive.

"Ready as I'll ever be." I sighed.

"Alright. Let's begin!"

"And done!" Piper exclaimed. "Go put on your dress!" She squealed. I got up and went to put on my dress. We had all gone dress shopping weeks before. When I was finished changing, I stepped in front of Piper's giant mirror.

"Oh my God." The girl that I saw in the mirror wasn't me. She was too beautiful.

"Oh Annabeth!" Hazel said. "You look beautiful!"

"This is my best friend, everyone. My gorgeous best friend!" Reyna yelled.

I laughed. "Stop." I glanced in the mirror again. "But, Pipes. Thank you. I mean, I look beautiful." I turned to my miracle worker best friend.

"Of course you do! You are beautiful, glammed up or not." She smiled at me. Then she came and hugged me. "Who's next?!"

When Piper finished with everyone else, she got ready. She wore a beautiful burgundy dress with sparkling lace detail all around the shoulder and plunging neck line. It was simple, but also had just the right amount of detail. It really suited Piper. I braided her hair into a braided crown with a golden leaf crown to sit on top of it. She looked amazing.

Hazel decided on a long gold dress. It was decorated with sparkling gold embellishment at the top that faded as you went down the dress. She decided to just leave her hair natural, and she looked beautiful.

Calypso's dress was two layers; the first layer was plain nude fabric and the second layer was sheer white tule with pretty white lace designs. It looked beautiful on her. Her caramel colored hair was up in a ponytail. She said it was more practical for dancing.

Reyna wore a beautiful royal purple two piece. It looked great on her. It showed off her toned stomach and her curves quite nicely. Piper put her hair in a French braid. She looked awesome.

All of us were ready and it was time to head to Central Park for pictures. We all hopped in Piper's car and headed over.

There, we met up with the boys; Percy, Jason, Frank, Leo, Will, and Nico. Will was dressed up, bit Nico wore what we always did; all black everything. Percy, Frank, Jason, and Leo were all dressed up nicely in suits. I'm

When Percy saw me walking towards him, his jaw hit the floor. He looked very handsome, with his grey tie and black suit. His raven black hair looked slightly less messy. He held two boxes with a corsage and a boutonnière in each.

"You look amazing Annabeth." Was all Percy could seem to get out as I walked closer to him.

"Not gonna lie, you look hot. Like this whole tux thing," I wagged my finger up and down. "Is really working for ya." I laughed.

"You look gorgeous." He smiled at me. "I brought two corsages because I didn't know which one you would like." He said.

"Aw, Seaweed Brain. You're so fricken adorable!" I kissed him. "I like this one." I chose the white flower that had a lot of petals that were spread out.

"Alrighty then." He took out the corsage and gently put it on my wrist. I put on his boutonnière.

"Okay. Let's go take some pictures." We walked over to the others. We all stood in a line, in a kind of train-like way. And we took the basic prom pictures. You know, with the boy's hands on the girl's waist and the girl's hands over the boy's.

Halfway through the shoot, I saw my dad walking towards us. "Dad?!" I asked in disbelief. He was supposed to be Massachusetts.

"Hey Pumpkin." He engulf me in a big hug. "I'm not too late, am I?"

"No. We still have to take some more pictures. But you came!" I really couldn't believe my dad was here. I looked back at Percy, and he was beaming at me.

"I wouldn't miss it for the world. Alright. Now, let me get some pictures of you two!"

Once all the parents had their photos, all the girl's volunteered to take pictures of each other with their dates. Piper was taking some photos of me and Percy. There was this beautiful cherry blossom in the park, so Piper took some pictures of Percy and I there. One of my favorites is when we're kissing, the tree shaded us so you could only really see our silhouettes. It was beautiful.

We took a few more, some on a bench, some next to flowers, the whole thing. Then I took pictures of everyone else.

"Alright. Let's get to prom!"

The rest of the night was spent dancing and having fun. We drank punch, and ate some snacks and everything was good.

Then, a slow song came on. It was 'Lights Down Low' By Max and Gnash. Percy looked over at me.

"Well?" I smiled at him.

"Um, who should I ask?" He smirked at me.

"Me, Seaweed Brain."

"Then, Annabeth Chase," Percy stood up and bowed in front of me, holding out his hand. "May I have this dance." He smiled at me.

I took his hand after pretending to think. "You may."

He led me onto the dance floor and held me in his arms. My arms rested easily around his neck, his hands on my waist.

I began to gently sing to the music.

"Moon light
Mood lights
Moves like J-Lo."

Percy picked it up.

"Tell me what you want from me
I'll do it if you say so."

"Cause you're the only one for me
I'm never gonna say no."

"I found me an angel
I can see it in your halo." Percy smiled at me.

"Have you ever dreamt what we could do?"

"Have you ever sent an 'I love you'."

"I've never felt the feelings that I feel for you."

"So maybe we could make a we of me and you." I held out the last note.

"I'ma treat you right tonight
Let's make it last forever."

"I promise you that no one else will ever treat you better."

"And if you don't believe me please see I don't need no effort."

"Cause all you gotta do is flip that switch before we better." We sang it together, I singing the harmony.

And we swayed. Just swayed. Together. "I love you so much." Percy kissed me. His taste was still as amazing as the first time we kissed. His scent was still as amazing as the first time we laid together. He was still as wonderful as ever.

"I love you more." I said against his lips.

"Impossible." I felt him speak.

Soon enough, Piper was on stage, with Jason at her side, announcing prom king and queen.

"I know that you've all been waiting for this all night!" She said. Everyone cheered. "So here are your prom king and queen!" She yelled. The entire gym went crazy. "Okay. I just wanted to say that all of us are awesome whether you win prom king or queen or not. Anyways, your prom king is... PERCY JACKSON!"

Everyone screamed and cheered and whistled. Percy kissed me and headed into the stage. Piper placed the crown on his head. She held out the mic. "Uh... thanks." Percy just smiled at everyone, and winked at me.

"Alright. Now for the most important, your prom queen is.... ANNABETH CHASE!" Everyone cheered and I ran up to the stage. All my fiends were especially loud, Leo had the most enthusiasm.

"YEAH ANNIE! THAT'S MY BEST FRIEND UP THERE! WHOO!" He screamed. Reyna elbowed him in the ribs. "Ow." He rubbed his side.

"WHAT!?" Drew. Was. Outraged.

"This is RIDICULOUS!" That crown is supposed to be mine!" She stormed into the stage, screeching. "I gave you your chance Annabeth. But you threw it away!" She snatched the microphone from Piper's hands. "I have an announcement to make!" She turned to the crowd.

I knew what was coming. My only thoughts;

Shit, shit, shit.

"Your beloved Annabeth tried to kill herself and miserably failed in the eighth grade!"

Everyone gasped. I just opened my mouth in shock. I tried my best to breath. I tried to tell myself it's okay. I took a step back next to Percy, and he placed his hands on my waist.

"It's okay." Percy whispered to me. "I'm right here. I'm not going anywhere."

This was enough to snap me out of my shock.

"She attempted suicide, because she's a loser!" Drew screeched.

However, no one called out, "She's such a loser!" Or "What a freak!" In fact, no one said anything at all.

I stepped forward. I grabbed an extra mic form a stand at the side of the stage. "She's right." I confessed. "I'm not going to stand here and try to deny it because it's true. But, do you ever stop and think; why?" I looked out at the crowd. "Do you ever wonder what was so bad, that it made some one want to take their own life? I tried to kill myself because..." I took a deep breath. "Because Drew made me believe that it was what I deserved."

Everyone looked at Drew. Her smug smile turned into a look like wait, what?

"Drew bullied me." I continued. "She made me insecure. Telling me I was ugly and fat and that she was so much better than I would ever be. And I did want it to end. I thought death was the only way out. But I was wrong. I realized, that to get over this, I had to put Drew in her place. So, I started to fight back, very gradually. And, though it was slow, look where I am now." I smiled. "I have the most amazing friends supporting me." I looked at my friends in the crowd. "I have the most wonderful boyfriend that I could ever ask for." I looked back at Percy, who stepped forward. "I'm prom queen, which at the beginning of the year, I would have never thought possible. But most of all, I stood up for myself. I let go of the fear that was holding me back. And it was the best decision that I've ever made."

Nico stood up and started clapping. The rest of my friends joined in, and soon the entire gym was filled with cheers and whistles and screams. I smiled at all of my peers. They supported me. I began to tear up. I spoke again once the applause died down.

"So thank you. All of you." Everyone clapped as Piper placed the crown on my head.

"Aw, babe. You're makeup's gonna run!" She laughed. She wiped the tears from under my eyes.

"Thanks." I sniffled.

"Now go dance with Percy." I turned to Percy who was standing there, beaming at me.

"I am so proud of you." He said. Then he grabbed me and dipped me, kissing me for a long time. I heard everyone's cheers and laughed against Percy's lips. After a minute or so, I pulled away.

Drew just stood there, in shock. "What?! No! This is supposed to be my night!" She stomped her foot and whined like a three year old throwing a tantrum. Everyone watched. Suddenly, Reyna yelled, "Get over it!" Everyone laughed. Drew stormed off stage.

"Let's go dance." I held out my hand.

"Let's go dance." Percy grabbed my hand.

And we danced the entire night. Just me and Percy. Happy. Together. I thought about where I started, a nobody. Until Percy, the popular kid, fell in love with me. And I'll admit, I fell for him too.

And it was that moment, I thought;

Annabeth Chase,

Percy Jackson,

Together.

Who could have known?
