Background
[Choose to accept Background or Skip]
That was new. The option to skip. Information is power though, and Ryver most certainly could use all of the information he could get. At the same time, it seemed like a good idea to run a few tests on this 'system'. So he began by simply thinking 'Background'. Nothing happened, which was a relief. Who would want something unknown to be able to read your thoughts? Next, he tried subvocalization, thinking of the sound of the word as he said it, nothing. Finally, he whispered 'Background' using as little breath as he could so it was almost completely inaudible.
Immediately the mirror filled up with text, looking much like an outline with each bullet point showing an obvious keyword to get more information. It kind of looked more like an advertisement than an information sheet which was mildly perplexing.

Unfortunately before Ryver could continue to investigate the sound of people approaching in a hurried manner made him quickly choose "Save" and in an attempt to see if it would work "Quit". This effectively returned the mirror to its original state, just in time as the door slammed open without even a courtesy knock.
A group of servants burst in, led by a fairly pretty maid with a very unpleasant look upon her face. "We are here to help the gentleman pack up to leave" she began, "the Madam has asked that you take only the luggage you can carry personally as they will no longer be providing any 'help' who can carry it for you." As if they had been providing a lot to begin with, this auxiliary building had only a skeleton crew from the get-go.
Honestly though, what did they think he would even take? It's not like there was much of value in his rooms to begin with. It was only worth a quick ponder to realize that his clothing wouldn't fit his new life, he obviously couldn't carry any of the furniture with him, and his books were too inconvenient to tote about as he tried to start anew. It was important to not stand out.
Even kicked out of his home, the former Lucius Mardian Deveroux would be considered a member of the gentry and not a commoner. This could cause many problems in day-to-day life, as a commoner would be highly unlikely to employ someone who came from the upper classes. Happily, Ryver Ferarosa had no such standing and should be able to melt into the crowd with ease. So he had no need to take anything with him that could tie him to this house. Instead, he asked for just one thing.
"The mirror, I would like to take this mirror with me."
