Tortured
Dimo Reeves had agreed to work with the Survey Corps, first by giving Djel Sannes and Ralph wrong information. Those two MP were the ones who Hanji believes killed Pastor Nick. Squad Levi and you were at a small secluded house, waiting for Reeves to arrive.
"So, the plan?" You asked Levi, your arms in their usual position.
"We get out whatever information we can," he replied briefly. You let out a light scoff in replacement of a laugh.
"Sounds like fun," you said, a small smirk on your face. In the distance, you could see the wagon slowly ride up towards the house. You all took cover and hid until it stopped in front. You walked to the back of the wagon.
"Are we there?" Sannes pulled back the curtain and peeked out. You held your gun right at his face. Levi was next to you. The quick look of shock vanished when Sannes turned to yell, but you climbed into the cart and jammed your elbow right into his face. Ralph was still there.
"Reeves, you damn—!" He didn't finish that sentence because you rammed your knee into the side of his head. Both of them fell unconscious. You threw Sannes and Ralph's bodies out of the cart where the others picked them up and carried them to the house. You jumped down to the ground.
"You need help torturing him?" You asked Levi, watching the others.
"Probably. I'm new to torture," he replied seriously. Your gaze darkened, a predatory edge to it.
"I guess you'll learn a thing or two about human torture, then. Grab a smock and let's get started."
~
You walked into the cellars where Sannes and Ralph were placed. You slowly opened the large metal door. Your timing was great, because he was just waking up. Levi was behind you, gloves and an apron on.
"Rise and shine, sleepy head," you greeted, pulling your gloves on tighter. "Ready to get started?" You walked into the room, immediately going over to the table of equipment. You placed your own stuff on top of it.
"Alright Levi, to be quite honest, torture is a free-for-all, no holds barred kind of thing. However, who you torture and when is important." You glanced over at the fearful man. "If you're planning to kill him in the end, go all out. If you're not, then avoid doing any fatal moves." You stripped off your jacket and threw it to the side of the room.
"For me, personally, I favor breaking bones, but that's not the only thing I'm capable of." You walked over to the tied man and leaned your face close to his. "But sometimes, physical torture isn't enough. Psychological torture is more fitting." You reached behind his head and yanked his hair, forcing him to expose his neck.
"I usually ask questions before I start, but... I want you to know what you're getting yourself into." You turned your head to look at Levi. "Watch closely." You slowly circled your thumb around his adam's apple. You then pressed it against his throat, choking him.
"You see, you're not supposed to crush the windpipe when you're trying to choke someone. Instead, you're supposed to block the carotid artery which supplies blood to the face, neck, and brain. When you do that, not enough blood goes to the brain, which can cause loss of consciousness. If you block it long enough..." You pressed harder. A ragged gasp left him as he struggled for breath. "... you can kill them." You released the pressure and stepped back. Sannes gasped for breath, his head hung.
"The human body has amazing defenses if it's injured, but there are loopholes. Ways you can get around it. Really, the only people who should torture are those who are skilled in human anatomy, like Hanji, but she's subpar." You reached over and grabbed a pair of scissors from the small table, pointing them just millimeters from his eye. "Thing is, I don't do well with people who are tied up, but I'll try."
~
"Sorry I'm late! You're still going at it?" Hanji burst through the door with Moblit behind her. You were too busy to acknowledge her.
"Yeah, I'm pretty new to this. Thankfully, Y/n was here to help," Levi replied, a few bloodstains on his apron. You had allowed him to try out his own technique of torture, but really, he just punched him a few times. You still have a lot to teach him.
"Thank you, Y/n! But I can take it from here!" She exclaimed as Moblit closed the door. You stepped away from the chair, a few bloodstains splattered across your chest and face.
"Sannes! You should know I'm also a novice at human torture, so please bear with me!" She said, walking up and grabbing a small wrench.
"Wait! What do you even want?! Who the hell tortures without asking questions?!" Sannes panicked.
"Oh right... we do have some questions for you," Levi said. "Where are Eren and Historia? Why are you after Historia? What is the Reiss Family?" The more questions he asked, the more Sannes' eyes travelled to the floor.
"Too slow! Can't you see we're in a hurry?!"
You watched as Hanji hastily ripped off one of his nails. His scream echoed from the basement. You watched her speed through the ripping's, the nails tearing off messily. You let out a sigh and snatched the wrench from her hand.
"Calm down, Shithead," you said, pushing her away with your hip. "You're doing it so sloppily it's not even as painful as it could be." You clamped the jaws of the wrench around his nail.
"Think of it as waxing. Don't pull up, pull back." Faster than was Hanji did, you flawlessly removed the complete nail. His cries rose to a crescendo.
"Oh! I see!" She exclaimed. You placed the nail inside the metal bowl.
"I thought you favored bone breaking?" Levi asked from the back.
"I do," you replied flatly, "Doesn't mean I don't know how to do anything else." You ripped off another. He only had three left.
"You're pretty good at this," Hanji said, leaning over to look at his hand.
"Thanks. A lot of practice." You handed the wrench back to her. "You can do the rest. My torturing skills aren't going to diminish." You crossed your arms and stepped back.
"Alright!" She ripped off the last three with ease, this time, more cleanly. His screams didn't bother you. When Hanji placed the nails in the bowl, she picked it up and showed it to him.
"Sorry, I can't peel nails as well as you. Just how many did you peel to get so good?" She asked.
"Too many to count," he replied, "Within these cramped walls, do you know why war has never broken out?"
"It's because the First Interior Squad dirtied our hands to protect the peace. A teacher too smart for their own good... a stupid couple who tried to fly... a whore from some ranch in the sticks! Humanity has only made it this far because we erased them! You should be thanking us! I've never seen anyone get more pleasure out of torture than you guys! You're monsters!" He exclaimed towards the two soldiers. "But I'm not even afraid. I... I have... I have the King, I... I believe in the King and peace in the walls. That all the things we've done were justified... but... to think it hurt this much... go on and torture me to death already. That's all I ever did with this blood stained life of mine." You snapped out your hand and covered his mouth.
"Shut up already," you said, your voice low. You squeezed his face, almost tempted to break his jaw. "People who wish to die at the hands of their captor are weak. And chances are, they'll just keep you alive to torture you more." You gently turned his head to look at you.
"Monsters, you say? No, I wouldn't call them that. Compared to some, they're mild. You don't know what it's like to be a monster. You don't know how it feels to be at the mercy of one." Your eyes were dead, dark. Hollow. As if all light was sucked out of them. "I'm willing to let you know, if you're interested." You let go of his face and stepped away. His gaze never broke from you, his body tense with anticipation. He was waiting for you to lunge for him, to gouge his eyes out... but it never came. You just walked back over to where Hanji and Levi were standing.
"Time for a break," Levi said, turning and walking away from him. The rest of you followed him.
"That's troubling... I'm beginning to feel sorry for him," Hanji said as you all left through the doorway.
"Don't," you warned, "He brought this upon himself. Don't go feeling sympathetic." The door shut behind you, but not all the way. Hanji and Levi quickly grabbed Ralph who was in the room next door.
"Quit shoving me... it hurts..." Ralph said.
"Shut it, you piece of absolute shit. It only took one nail for you to talk. Sannes doesn't have any nails left. You're nothing like him," you said, holding your clenched fist under his chin. You could kill him whenever you wanted to. All it took was a little pressure on your glove.
"Like I care? That was his decision. The guy never shuts up about peace and the King. The rest of us hate him," Ralph replied, reading off of the paper Hanji was holding up in front of him. Levi was standing next to you with a knife in his hand. "Do us a favor and kill him already."
"We're not letting it happen until he verifies your story," Levi replied.
"You already got what you wanted out of me. Gimme a break. Will I be getting a bed in my cell, or what?" He finished reading. You smirked, pushing him up the stairs.
~
It was early morning the next day. You, Hanji, and Levi walked down to Sannes' cell. Hanji opened the door and you took a step in, pulling on your gloves.
"Ready, Sannes? Let's try again. This is tough for me, too, but I'll do my best to—"
"Reiss is the true royal family."
Hanji stopped, as did Levi. Both of their eyes widened. Even your eyes widened a little bit.
~
You and the rest of Squad Levi, plus Hanji and Moblit, were upstairs. After the reveal that the Reiss family was the real royal family, you left him alone.
"The true royal successor... is Historia?" Armin questioned, all of their expressions one of shock.
"In other words, both Eren and Historia are likely wherever Rod Reiss is," Hanji explained, looking at Moblit. He nodded his head and placed a piece of paper on the wall, rolling it out. It revealed a sketch of Rod Reiss.
"That's him," Levi said. You stared at the photo.
'Dirty lookin' rat.' You thought, your eyes narrowing.
Ja ne!
