To my neighboring princess of Bountyland,
When we were kids, you were my partner in crime,
a true vigilante in every sense.
We were undefeated, that is, until we met Time.
Our two little worlds were separated by a fence,
but that sure didn't stop us.
And, boy, were our games intense.
But we grew up and school was a must.
Little by little, we drifted apart.
And soon, you found others to trust.
Your new friends filled your heart
with joy and laughter and happiness.
Man, they were so popular and so damn smart.
And I was just me, I guess.
You were my friend and I was happy for you.
But a part of me felt you began to like me less.
Soon enough, he began to like you, too.
He was perfect. All I could do was watch.
There was nothing I could do.
Then he took it up a notch.
It was a beautiful ring and a beautiful rock.
And not long after, we fell out of touch.
You're happy with him, so this is going to suck,
but I have to tell you something.
If you've received this letter, then I still have some luck.
You're a queen and I've always wanted to be your king.
Even if you have to leave me behind,
just know that you were my everything.
Our fates touched, but never entwined.
After all these years, to say that I'm okay would be a lie.
So for one last time, I'll call you by your old name, if you don't mind.
To the Princess of Bountyland, this is goodbye.
