-Q&A
Okay, thank you to the people who submitted questions! I am going to be adding them all here for your pleasure, as well as some questions I often get on my story. If people have other questions for me, feel free to comment them!
Questions:
Are you planning to write more books? or after finishing uprise and plight, and other books you have unfinished, you are going to have a hiatus?
So, I am. I have a couple of books in the works right now. My problem is that other people in my life (my partner, my parents, my friends) are telling me that I should seriously consider writing something to be published. If I were to do that, I wouldn't be able to tie it to this account because of fanfiction. I don't think I'm that good, but I could probably get published if I put ten years of work in, like most other authors I know.
I've just got a decision to make. I'm definitely not going to stop writing once I'm done Uprise, Plight, Sonder, and Paro. I've been writing on here for four years now, and I'm not done now.
what made you want to be an author?
I don't really know. I even asked my Mom. She told me that even as a baby, I would read her textbooks with her over her shoulder, and she would narrate them for me. She also thinks that, since I was a really bright kid, I struggle to orally communicate my emotions at a young age with my peers, so I would write them down. Like, I can remember writing my first book in Kindergarten, about why the name Oil was the best name to have.
Yeah, that's kind of it though. I just love words and have always loved words.
what keeps you on this app?
Honestly, the community and its facility. I've considered switching to ao3 before, but I just don't find the interface as intuitive. Plus, I love how easy it is to find people on this app. I have like, a ton of mutuals here that I love and care for, even if we don't talk much. If there weren't people who appreciated my work here, I just would write on my own and seek publishing. I'd use my personal friends as beta readers.
where does your inspiration come from?
Lol, so it's quite funny. Before I go to bed, I always try to create scenarios and imagine my way out of them. That's where the inspiration for every apply fic came from. From there, I think that the stories sort of just write themselves. I plan them out in advance, and as I'm going, I try to pepper in something beautiful.
For fanfictions, on the other hand, I see a trope that drives me nuts. For OUAT Peter Pan, it was that the girl reforms him. I wanted a girl who went evil, who did unspeakable things and had to deal with the PTSD associated with violence. So, I wrote the Volatile series (looking back, the quality fo writing is bad but the plot is fun). Same goes for Asunder; I was tired of reading TMR stories where there was one girl with a group of boys. That's why Asunder has four girls.
how are you holding up through everything?
Lol, it's been rough. Classes are so much harder online, and moving back home has been rather difficult. I don't live in a small house, but I have tiny ones at home so everything feels claustrophobic. I'm quite lucky though because some of my friends are going to end up homeless if they can't find places to stay. It's been difficult, but I'm managing.
Anyway, thanks for the questions. If I didn't hate tags sometimes, I would tag some people to do the same. Basically, imagine that if you've read this, I encourage you to do a Q&A, and I will ask you some questions too!
