I didn't write as much as I wanted to last year (which, was partially a life thing but also partially a prioritization thing) and I've decided that to fix this problem, I need to set some goals. Especially since the last time I did, I was so fucking successful at them, and did a good job.

GOALS

| My first project to finish is Condemned. I've been procrastinating it, but as it stands right now, I have about 15 chapters left to write and then I'm done that series, which I started a year and a half ago. So, first thing's first I'm going to finish it. Probably by the end of February, if I return to my twice a week publishing schedule. That will just be a lot of work this first week of January, but I'm off right now so it should be fine.

| Once again, I am going to finish two apply fics. Deterrent is so hard to finish because I'm so passionate about it, but first thing's first, I'm going to finish that. It's my after Condmened project, and there is no allowances for not finishing it. This is just the way things are.

| I am going to write Overboard. The whole thing. I'll be drafting the chapters once I'm done Deterrent and re-releasing them, probably with minor changes but more so that I'm back in that world, thinking about it, and then letting it loose into the wild. So, I'm looking forward to that.

| Finally, I am going to write one more book. Accursed is one that I've previously pitched, that's on the docket. I already have quite a decent chunk of that book done, so it might be easiest, but I have another right now that really is pulling at my attention. The other is Besmirch (ooh, title drop) which has no chapter in my miscellaneous book for obvious teaser reasons, but I'll drop the cover here anyway teehee.

PLANS

So, now comes the scary part. Chapters. In previous year's, I've focused on word count goals, but that doesn't actually help me that much. Apply fics require so much more time per word, so this is what I will do.

Let's just focus on the first four months of the year. Condemned and Deterrent both have a sizable chunk left. So, first two months I'm spamming out Condemned, and if I have the time or energy, I'm backlogging Deterrent. Then, in March and April, I will properly finish Deterrent and send it out into the world.

The rest of the year, it will be Overboard. My apply fics generally end up with somewhere between 30 and 40 chapters, so if I do a chapter per week after the first four months, especially conidering I have Overboard backlog, I'll be right as rain.

I'll also move my fic publishing schedule to once a week as well.

My overall goal: no more than two projects at once. In late 2023, that's where I really failed. I had so many fun things on the go at a time, and even right now I do. I've been writing some stuff for maybe a published book one day, and then other off-site short stories, and all those projects really bog down them all. I can't remember motifs, ideas, even chapter to chapter events all that well when there are so many different books hovering around in my brain. So, yeah, this is my plan.
