How?
After a rough couple of days, the trio packed up essential items and a few not so essential ones. Getting ready for a trip that would either save the lives of the entire world. Or just fulfill a lifelong dream of a fangirl.
There was a slight tension between the two boys even after they discussed the issue. Lucas just didn't believe that Avery would leave Y/N alone. So he was constantly making sure he was in the middle of the two.
Whether it be when they sat in the living room, or simply packing up things in the kitchen.
Avery
I wish Lucas would chill. I'm honestly over it. Y/N keeps shooting me confused looks and I just shrug. I know what's going on but I can't tell her. So I just let him put a wedge between us as the days dragged on. My body ached too much to even try to fight for her.
However, I think she is more interested in some k-pop idol anyway. Jeon Jung or something like that. I sighed, grabbing my rucksack with a sleeping bag attached to it. Hopefully I have enough, there's no telling if I will ever see this place again.
We all shuffled out the front door into the morning light, squinting at it's soft but ever so brightness.
"Why does it have to be so bright..." groaned Lucas. Y/N just stood there with her face towards the rising sun with a smile, while the sun's rays caressed her beautiful face. Adjusting my bag, I cleared my throat making my way down the driveway.
Don't think about it... I kept telling myself. You don't have a chance in hell.
That will be my mantra for the duration of our time together. However long that will be. Besides I'd hate for her to fall for me and then I die. I think the thought would honestly kill me faster.
"Do you have a car?" Y/N asked, walking up beside me. I looked over at her with a side smile. Pulling out a set of keys I pressed the unlock button.
"I do."
We all piled into my eclipse spyder. A gift from my dad for my birthday. I miss him... this is the only thing I have that he and I ever worked on together. The gears stuck at second every once in a while. But I love this car.
"It smells like old socks in here..." Lucas scrunched his nose in disgust. Y\N just stared out the window. She didn't seem bothered by any smell... or anything really.
Y/N
I can't believe we are actually going to fly to Korea! This ride to the airport is thick with tension though. I'm not sure if it's Lucas or Avery who is causing it.
"Is something wrong?" I asked looking back at Lucas who had his arms folded across his chest. He looked like someone stole his favorite toy.
Childish...
"No." He said flatly, casting a dirty look at Avery. That bothered me... Avery looked a bit paler today and wasn't much for talking other than his cute little act with his car. Did I say cute?
"Really?"
I looked back at Lucas who was now smiling happily at me. Dude man has mood swings from hell it would seem.
"Don't mind him, his hormones are raging."
I barely heard Avery when he spoke. His eyes trained on the road, not even glancing back at his friend. I'm guessing the little tension was about me. So I'm going to clear the air.
"Look... I'm not interested in either of you." This was a lie but they don't need to know that. Plus I don't need a full out brawl on my behalf when one of the lives of BTS could very well be at stake.
Lucas huffed, slamming back against the seat.
"Yea okay..."
"Aye! Come off it man!" Snapped Avery. His eyes flashed with anger in the rearview mirror. Lucas rolled his eyes.
"Sorry..." I looked out the window for the rest of the ride to the airport. Hoping that we would be able to bribe someone to catch a flight to Korea with only two-thousand dollars. I needed to make sure they were okay. Nobody knew if he was even alive anymore. A lot of the country had been shut down. People were locked in their homes with Authorities coming by with provisions to last up to two weeks. No one was allowed to work. Everyone's lives in turmoil.
Hopefully the answer was with seven handsome boys. One holding the key to our survival. Or perhaps the answer was sitting uncomfortably next to me speeding down the empty expressway. I stole a glance at him. His lips were cracked and the pain he was feeling evident in his grayish-white eyes. The way his shoulders slumped into the seat. I leaned forward rummaging through my bag to find the hydrocodone.
Maybe that would...
Suddenly the car jerked, my head slamming against the window as we began to swerve haphazardly down the street. We had been hit by a truck. Avery was yanked around like a rag doll by the force of it all, and Lucas well he looked for the most part unaffected aside from his girlish scream.
"What the hell!!" Cried Lucas.
Avery got the car back under control, screeching to a halt. His breathing was ragged, hands clenched tight around the steering wheel.
"You okay?" He murmured, still breathing hard his worried eyes searching mine.
Aw... that expression reminds me of little meow meow. He is so cute! I felt my cheeks get warm.
"I'm fine." I smiled softly. He just nodded, proceeding to drive. There was no point waiting on a cop to come. They wouldn't, judging by all the cars that were scattered on the side of the road.
The eclipse groaned as we carried on. Lucas was telling silly knock knock jokes, while Avery and I laughed until we cried. Slowly the rest of the tension dissipated and I was relieved.
After about an hour of weaving through broken down wrecked cars, we pulled up to a nearly abandoned airport.
"Are they even flying planes?" Lucas asked leaning forward between the seats. Avery looked over at me expecting an answer.
"Duh..." I chuckled looking everywhere but them. The only flight I knew of that was leaving was Air Force One for Korea to meet with the troops for Moral.
Don't ask me how I got that information.
Avery was skeptical of my answer. So I guess this is where I tell them the initial plan.
We're definitely not flying first class. Coach isn't looking so good either.
"How do we get on said flight."
Well the idea is to bribe one of the jockeys to help us get up into one of the hideaway spots without being caught by the secret service. I should have thought this through better.
We are here now. Might as well give it a shot.
"I have a plan." I informed them, a little unsure of that plan currently.
Avery pulled right up to the front of the departing area. Getting out he stretched his arms and legs groaning. Not sure if it was from pain or the stretch.
"You okay?"
He simply nodded, tossing his ruck on his back. Lucas did the same walking towards the sliding glass doors. I guess he expected them to open, because he ran smack into them.
Both Avery and I stifled our laughs helping him up off the ground.
"It's not funny..." he grumbled, rubbing his nose.
"It kinda is." Laughed Avery, I smiled looking around to see if there was another way in. Off to the right was an opening. It looked like we may have to climb down to the tarmac.
"We may have to climb." I pointed to the opening that dropped down on a hill straight to where the airplanes docked at the gates. Lucas grumbled at the thought. Avery however did his signature shrug and walked over, jumping the ledge sliding on his butt.
If I didn't know any better I'd say he had done that before.
"Even half dead he still likes climbing shit..."
Lucas clearly did not. He went over and looked down at Avery who was brushing himself off.
"Show-off!" He yelled, Avery flicked him off with a smirk. I smiled, giving Lucas a nudge.
"Come on don't be such a wuss."
He glares at me climbing over the ledge with a lot less grace he tripped rolling down, with arms and legs flailing. I could hear him cursing the whole way down.
Glad my father took me hiking every chance he got.
Lucas
You know... I'm beginning to regret agreeing to this fucking trip. I'm all scraped up now because of this stupid plan. Angrily I brushed myself off, watching Y/N gracefully saunter down the hill.
What is she, a mountain goat?
"Nice." Avery praised. I glowered at him. I'm going to have to step up my game.
Not even sure why we couldn't just walk up to a ticket counter. Oh wait... that's right. The fucking air port is closed. On the front it said "for official use only"
I still followed her though. So did Avery. I guess we were just hopeful that she wasn't crazy and the cure was in Korea.
"Look!" She exclaimed excitedly.
We jumbled up together at the corner of the building, staring out at none other than POTUS' plane.
Fuck. Me.
