White Love Story
It was Monday and the sun was mild
Everything was perfect, everything was bright
But then he came in, and then he smiled
I found I was alive and knew I just died
And he was every color on the color wheel
Every single think I could think and feel
He was every lesson that my teacher’s said
Every single book I have ever read
So he writes a letter, says, “I love you”
Hoping I will write back with an “I love you too”
With winter coat on because he’s ill
He leaves the envelope on my windowsill
Then I called him and said “Let’s meet”
Down Baker’s Avenue, down Lover’s Street
I was too late and he met someone else
And that’s when my white love story came true to tell
He smiles at her and she smiles at him
He was her angel and she was his dream
And so I smile while crying inside
As I write my white love story in the study light
“He waits for me at school and calls me at home”
“He hugs and kisses me and I’m never alone”
My pen bleeds the tale as I’m up all night
Writing my white love story in the study light
“He says he’ll marry me, I already said I do”
“He says I’m the best thing that happened and the only thing true”
My tears run out and my chest feels tight
As I write my white love story in the study light
It was Monday and the sun was mild
I wish everything’s perfect and everything’s bright
I found his heart’s taken and that's when I died
So I read my white love story in the fading light
