Chapter 14

"Someone's following me."

"What?! What do you mean?"

"Exactly that."

"Sora? I am going to need you to elaborate."

Sora groaned as she leaned back onto her couch, her fingers restlessly pulling at a loose thread sticking out of a rip in her jeans.

"Sunhee, I think it would be better if you come over."

"I can't right now. I am walking into a meeting with the boss as we speak! Sora, what's going on? You're making me nervous."

Sora winced as she held the phone away from her ear as her friend whisper-yelled at her.

"You know I wouldn't ask you to if it wasn't important!" Sora begged.

"Sora, can you wait till I finish my meeting?"

"This isn't the first time. Someone has been following me for two weeks."

The call ending tone was all the response she got.

Sora tossed her phone on the coffee table and watched it bounce over the photographs scattered over the table.

Photographs.

A seemingly innocent yellow envelope had welcomed her after she tossed her keys in the bowl by the door as she entered her apartment. It was probably slipped under the door just like all the other information Sunhee would get delivered to her.

Sora left it on the coffee table, rushing to make a strong cup of coffee before going through its contents, knowing that if Sunhee had sent her the envelope without informing her, it must have been of urgent nature.

Sora should have known better.

Should have realised how out of character the 'Han Sora' scribbled on the envelope is. No envelopes during an assignment are ever addressed to her- just another security measure.

She carefully picks up one of the many monochrome photographs from the bunch and studies it once again. This one, in particular, could have been placed in a gallery and no one would question its presence.

It was beautiful.

It was Jimin.

Jimin, in white, standing out in all the grey and black.

A pinching reminder of all the lies that surrounded this unsuspecting man- the white innocent lies and dark vicious lies.

Lies, Sora knew about and lies, she, herself had woven around him. The colour of her lies was something she didn't want to dwell upon.

It wasn't important anyway, she argued.

Another lie.

Sora dismissed her thoughts and focused on the photo.

Nothing she hadn't seen. Nothing new. But informing her was never the purpose of the photographs. They were sent to her for something else entirely.

The photo in her hand was of Jimin surrounded by his backup dancers. Jimin showing them a move from his solo choreography while explaining where he wanted his dancers to support him.

Although just a rehearsal, Jimin still executed each move like it was the final performance and this reflected in the photo.

But the grace and emotion wasn't the reason why this particular person had captured this and the moments that followed.

Her being in the far right in the photo, almost on stage but still not visible enough to draw attention, was the reason. The photo was focused on Jimin and her. Everything else an unimportant but intentional blur.

Sora recalled the exact moment.

It was the day before one of their concerts and Jimin had expressly asked her to be present on stage during his dress rehearsal. She recalled the little smiles he would send her way while moving around on stage. Jimin's attention on her had flustered her enough to make her trip over wires she had carelessly stepped back into and tripped over to land on her backside with a small thud.

To her mortification, Jimin had rushed to her side and helped her up, getting everyone's attention. Everyone including the person who had sent her the envelope.

All this had been captured in the set of photos in her hand and she knew exactly why.

The message was clear.

They were being watched.

The person watching them was close enough to take photos of moments in places that only authorised people had access to - people within the company.

Her fingers picked up the other set of photos.

A set of photos of just her.

The message more explicit with this set.

She was being watched.

What bothered her the most was this wasn't some regular blackmail photographs taken by a private investigator. This wasn't an attempt to make an exposé of an idol and his 'secret' relationship with a staff member. This wasn't just a member of the paparazzi getting a little too ambitious.

These were taken by a professional whose skill sets probably didn't stop at taking photographs.

This person knew what they were doing.

This person was warning Sora - they were closer than she knew; closer than she hoped for.

A/N: Sorry! I thought I would get back on track but life plus writer's block got me down real bad this time around. I can't promise regular updates but I promise to try! :)

Thank you for sticking with this story and me!
