Chapter 3

~*~

"What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be at Mallory's?" Thalia asked Jason as he rushed by the living room and towards his bedroom.

"I got to pick up some stuff. Don't worry, I'll be gone before you know it." Jason answered from upstairs.

Thalia tried to stand up from where she was seated, but unfortunately, the books and paperwork's sprawled all around her was keeping her stationed there. She was wearing a white sleeveless shirt and a pair of shorts so you'd expect her to be comfortable at the very least.

Seeing the mess of documents around her made her take off her black-rimmed glasses and rub her electrifying blue eyes out of their tired faze. She sighed, combed her black hair with her hand then massaged her temples just as Jason came bolting down the stairs.

"You goin' already?" she asked him.

"Yeah." Jason answered as he made his way through the labyrinth of papers and quickly left a kiss on Thalia's forhead. "See ya tomorrow."

Before Jason could turn around to leave, Thalia cleared her throat as if to say Jason was forgetting something. Which of course, he did.

"And thanks for asking Mrs. Jackson to let me stay for the night." He said as he shot his sister with a grateful smile.

She in return, gave him a knowing grin. "Just try not to do anything stupid while you're there ok?"

"Ok." He answered as he went out the door.

"Hey! I'm back!" Jason said bursting from the door, scaring the hell out of Mallory who was reading a book on her couch.

"JASON GRACE YOU SCARED THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS OUT OF ME!" she screamed as she tried to steady her breathing. "Y-you could've knocked first you know!"

Jason was too stiff to answer her. Seeing Mallory change into a pair of light blue shorts and a black tee shirt, was enough to make Jason stop on his tracks. She looked really cute even with her black-rimmed reading glasses on.

"W-Why are you staring a-at me like that?" She stuttered as a visible tint of red formed on her cheeks.

Jason shook his head to bring himself out of his faze state and gave her an apologetic smile, "Sorry, I guess I'm just getting used to seeing you with uh.. glasses?"

Mallory managed a smile as she stood up and sat on the couch while Jason left his bag on the foot of Mallory's bed. He then took a seat on the couch and unexpectedly rested his head on Mallory's thigh.

"So watcha readin'?" he asked, noticing the blush on his friend's face.

"T-The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri." She answered timidly.

"Can I take a look?"

"Sure." She gave him the book and he started to read it with a spark of interest in his eyes.

Mallory has to admit, he loves seeing Jason so focused and silent. He gives off this calm demeanour and regal grace that makes him look like a king. The way his movements looked so refined and distinguished... his sometimes childish yet gentlemanly actions...his-

"This is a pretty great book." He suddenly said, "Mind if I borrow it after you're done?"

"No not at all." Mallory said with a smile.

"Hey look," Jason said as he pointed to the book's library card, "This little baby's been checked out by this 'Nico di Angelo' guy too."

She examined it closely and found out that he was right, "Yeah... what a coincidence."

Then a series of knocks resonated from the door before Mallory's mom opened it and went inside with a tray of blue cookies and some refreshments. A surprised face greeted the both of them as Sally noticed the lounging position they were in, which immediately made Mallory's face red for the nth time.

Seeing this made Sally smile lovingly at them as she let out a small giggle, "Here you go Jason, fresh out of the oven."

"Thanks Mrs. Jackson!" he said, still oblivious to the fact that Mallory was getting redder and redder by the minute.

"No problem, sweetie." Sally answered with a smile before she made her way to the door, "If you want some more, just call me ok? There's more in the kitchen."

Mallory just silently observed Jason eat the cookies as she asked herself why...why does she have to feel this way?

"Hey, you want some? They're pretty good!" Jason interrupted her thoughts as he held up a cookie to her mouth. "Come on, I know you want it."

This managed to make her smile as she took a bite out of the cookie and agreed that they are pretty good. Once they were done eating, Jason pulled out a bag of snacks from his bag that he picked up before he came here.

"You can't have a movie marathon without snacks." He said with a smile.

"Yeah, guess you're right." Mallory said as she smiled back at him. She then stood up and went to set up the TV. "So, what do you want to watch? Horror? Adventure? Cheesy Romance movies?"

"How about... Inazuma Eleven the Movie- Team Ogre?" he said with grin.

Mallory laughed which made Jason feel butterflies in his stomach, "Excellent choice!"

She then put the flash drive into the player and went back to the couch to sit with Jason, who already opened up the packs of chips and a few cherry-flavoured coke for them.

The movie was already starting when Mallory started to say, "What would happen if the whole school found out that the Jason Grace still watches a soccer-themed anime?"

Jason sat up straight and held Mallory's shoulder, "There is nothing wrong with watching Inazuma Eleven, alright? It's a great show and it taught me a lot of valuable things! And-"

"Calm down Jason," Mallory said with a slight giggle, "I love Inazuma Eleven just as much as you do. You don't need to tell me what I already know. Besides, I love watching it too."

Jason let go of her shoulder and smiled, "I know you only love watching it because of Axel Blaze..."

Mallory's cheek fired up by the name of her childhood anime crush, "J-Jason!" she sighed, "Whatever, it's not like you didn't have a crush on Nelly Raimon."

"Don't remind me." He said as he hugged a pillow, "She ended up with Mark Evans..."

Mallory laughed at the sight of Jason sulking but he couldn't help feeling jealous. She wondered what it would feel like to have Jason like her too...

~*~

The movie just ended and Jason already begged Mallory to play Inazuma Eleven GO The Movie: Ultimate Bonds Gryphon.

As they continued to watch the movie, Mallory was having the time of her life with Jason. They'd sometimes fight over who's character was stronger, what team had better hissatsu's and other stuff related to Inazuma Eleven.

Even so, she's noticed her heart thumping louder and louder every time Jason holds her hand to point out how amazing the shots were in the movie. She could feel herself getting more and more attracted to the blonde boy and it made her even more confused of how she should feel for her best friend.

A few moments later, Percy came in Mallory's room and got hooked up in the movie as well. He was just a big a fan of the series as she and Jason were, so she wasn't surprised when Percy started yelling out the name of the hissatsu shoots like "Joker Rain!"

He and Jason then started to have this heated debate about who's better between Shuu and Hakuryuu which they fought about even during dinner. Sally and Poseidon didn't mind they're childish bickering, they thought it was fun to watch. Mallory on the other hand, just sighed at their expense.

"Tsurugi's better than Shuu and Hakuryuu, you guys should know that by now." Mallory plainly said.

"WHAT?!" Jason and Percy said in unison.

"Just because they won that match doesn't make him better!" Jason reasoned after they finished cleaning up after dinner.

"Yeah, it was a group effort! But if it was a one-on-one with Hakuryuu, Shuu and Tsurugi would've been roadkilll!"

Jason, Mallory and Percy went to an onslaught on who was better than who. They had started off with a simple debate in the guest room where Jason will be staying, that somehow turned into a pillow fight among the three teens.

Jason hid behind the bed while Percy and Mallory each had their own forts. Pillows were scattered everywhere and where flying all over the room as their laughter filled the air.

Each throw of a pillow was accompanied by a hissatsu shot adapted from the anime. One could hear Jason shouting "Dance of the Wind Gods!" and Percy yelling "Tsunami Boost!". Mallory couldn't help but laugh at those two dorks.

By the stroke of midnight, Sally already asked them to go to bed after she caught a pillow flying straight towards her with her "God Hand!". The trio broke into a fit as Sally began to throw a pillow at each of them while saying, "God Knows!", "Chaos Break!" and "Fire Tornado!"

After the laughter fest, Percy and Mallory bided Jason "good night" and went back to their rooms and slept.
