1. puddle-avoidance mission
Eleanor Maze
As I glanced at the clock, my heart raced. I only had 20 minutes to get ready for the important event I was attending. With a sense of urgency, I rushed to my vanity, which was cluttered with makeup products in a disarray. The sight of my makeup brushes strewn haphazardly and the open compacts of eyeshadow and blush made my heart sink.
I knew I had to work quickly, so I grabbed my makeup bag and started applying foundation with trembling hands. Mascara, lipstick, and eyeliner followed in a whirlwind of movements, with each second ticking away. My outfit choice was made in a hurry, and I grabbed the first suitable dress I saw in my closet, hoping it would match.
With one last look in the mirror, I realized my vanity remained in chaos, a reflection of the frantic morning. Without time to tidy up, I left my home, feeling a mix of relief for making it on time and embarrassment for the disarray I was leaving behind.
The dress for the school dance was a stunning midnight-blue gown. It had a strapless lace bodice adorned with shimmering sequins and flowed into a graceful chiffon A-line skirt that trailed behind me as I walked. The low-cut back and silver heels added a touch of elegance and glamour, making it the perfect choice for the evening.
I arrived at the school dance wearing a rea dress. But I was a bit late. Unfortunately, the weather was awful, and there were puddles everywhere. It was impossible for me to reach the entrance without getting my dress wet or ruining my heels.
"Holy shit..."
I turned around and laid my eyes upon a familiar face from my math class. He stood there with a friendly smile, his dark, tousled hair slightly damp from the rain, and his eyes held a warmth that instantly put me at ease. Dressed in a sharp suit, he exuded a mix of casual charm and confidence that made him stand out even on this rainy night.
"Holy shit..." He said again, but smiling this time, "You look amazing."
I blushed and replied, "Oh, thank you! But I'm in a bit of a puddle predicament here."
He laughed and said, "Yeah, the rain caught me off guard too. Want some help navigating this minefield of puddles?"
Gratefully, I said, "That would be great, thanks. I'd hate to ruin this dress on its debut."
He extended his arm, and I took it, thinking that maybe this rainy night wouldn't be so bad after all.
"Oh, thank you! But I'm in a bit of a puddle predicament here." I shyly reply
Guy from math class: *laughs* "Yeah, the rain caught me off guard too. Want some help navigating this minefield of puddles?"
You: *gratefully* "That would be great, thanks. I'd hate to ruin this dress on its debut."
Guy from math class: *extends his arm* "Alright, let's do this puddle-jumping adventure together."
As we made our way through the puddles, our conversation flowed effortlessly. We chatted about the dance, sharing our excitement and a few nervous jitters. I discovered that he had a passion for music, just like me, and we both hoped the DJ would play our favorite songs.
As we continued our puddle-avoidance mission, I couldn't resist asking, "So, do you come to these dances often?"
He grinned, a mischievous glint in his eyes, "Not as often as I'd like. But I couldn't miss this one, especially after seeing you in that stunning dress."
I blushed again, grateful for the dim lighting that concealed my embarrassment. "Well, I'm glad I made it in time then." as I said that I couldn't help but notice that his tie coincidentally matched my dress, and it made me smile.
Clearing my throat, I asked, "Do you mind picking me up? So my dress doesn't..."
He didn't even hesitate; he gently scooped me into his arms, and I felt a flutter in my stomach. He carried me, navigating the puddles with care, even though it was ruining his own shoes. As he held me, our eyes briefly locked, and in that moment, something in my heart told me that he'd be carrying me like this again one day... As he carries me through the puddles, I can't help but steal more glances at him. The rain has tousled his hair, and there's a playful gleam in his eyes, as if he's thoroughly enjoying this impromptu adventure.
I say, "You really didn't have to do this, you know."
He smiles warmly, "I know, but it's all worth it to keep that beautiful dress of yours dry."
The music from the school dance grows louder in the distance, and I can see the colorful lights flickering through the rain. As he sets me down gently by the entrance, the music from the school dance grows louder in the distance. Despite the rain, the rhythmic beats and melodies find their way to my ears, creating an enticing backdrop for the evening. The colorful lights from within the gymnasium flicker and dance through the falling raindrops, casting a magical and inviting glow over the scene.
I look up at him, still smiling, and say, "This dance is sounding and looking better by the second."
He nods in agreement, his eyes reflecting the shimmering lights, "Indeed, it's going to be a night to remember."
I grin and remark, "I hope we're not missing out on too much."
He chuckles and replies, "I think we're creating our own memorable moment right here."
I express my gratitude, "Thank you again. You're my hero tonight."
He blushes and stammers, "Anytime. Maybe we can share a dance inside?"
I couldn't help but feel my cheeks flush; his initiative in asking had my stomach dancing with butterflies. Of course I'll said yes, i might be screaming about but I reality I just accept with a nod, feeling that strange but exciting connection growing stronger. This rainy school dance might just turn into a night I'll never forget. The thought of dancing with him sent a pleasant shiver down my spine. It seemed like this night had more surprises in store than I had ever imagined.
But of course you wouldn't read this If it have the happy ending in chapter one right?
_______
I will always remember the day we first met and the day we said our goodbyes
When I met you,
Flowers started to flourish into the darkest part of my mind
Hope your ready what's next!
