Shadows to the fore

I see them evermore,

Crossing vast shores

to show up on my door.

Along the walls they creep

Not a sign ,not a peep,

Slithering along

Sliding up the walls ,shadows long.

Black as night,

they cry and fight,

Stirring up a fright

No where to run,if I might.

Seeing them out of the corner of my eye

taller than the sky,

Vanishing as soon as I turn

With fear, they make me burn.

One moment here, one moment there

In all corners , are they there?

Standing silent,seeing me

No way to be fleeing ,I see.

Questions unspoken in the air

In my mind and in their shadows,

What do they want?

I ask and I taunt.

To my prayers I hold tight

Are they the darkness in me?

The coal black hole I feel,

Creeping out of my depths

Cold,sodden, broken I guess.

Flitting around the house

Staring across, my back crawls,

I turn to see

Shadows seeping across.

Melting into walls

Screeches and calls,

Standing rooted to ground

Where do I go?

Stealthily without a sound,

shadows to the fore,

Disappear and are seen no more.

Wicked smile on my face,

Perhaps the shadows have found their place

Psst....if u ever come to my door....

Be careful...what you see, is there no more...
