chapter six
"I know your up there Amarth. you may as well come down." I call, looking up at the tree. I managed to cover my bruises with another spell so he won't ask.
Not that I expect him or anyone else to care.
"You do know following people who want to be alone Is extremely rude miss Morwen." I spin around, my sword Clashing with his blade.
"Impressed?" He asks, not lowering his weapon.
"I've seen better." I snap, stepping back.
"I doubt that miss Morwen. There is no one who can match my skill with a blade, or who can match me for looks and charm."
Is he really this arrogant?
I scoff and he smirks.
That is why you have been following me isn't it? You cannot bare to take your eyes off of me."
"I have better things to do than Chase after stuck up elves." I say, pushing a few annoying stray strands of hair from my face.
"Especially one that is a liar, a murderer, a thief and criminal, a lowlife, and a vagabond."
"At least I'm handsome." He smirks.
I wrinkle my nose, furrow my brow and generally scrunch my face.
"What are you trying to do Amarth?"
I ask annoyed.
"Making your last moments as enjoyable as possible before I kill you."
"You won't kill me."
"And how do you know that Miss Morwen?"
"Because you cannot think of anyone else who compares to my beauty."
At this he burst out laughing.
By Morgoth I probably sound just as arrogant and stuck up as he does!
"Miss Morwen, I will not Deny there is something-" he pauses.
"Interesting about your appearance. But as far as you go, I have not thought about you once until you showed up."
"What makes you think that I have been thinking about you?" I ask frustratedly.
"For one thing you never denied that I was handsome." He points out.
"And if I recall correctly I did admit that you were not as beautiful as you claimed to be." He smirks, and I sputter.
I already know that enough without him telling me.
"Now if you will excuse me miss Morwen, I have places to be, and things to steal and kill. Good day."
With that, he sheaths his sword and walks away.
" you may not think that I am beautiful Amarth, and I may not have denied that you are handsome, but there is one thing that proves you like me somewhat. "
He snorts, turning to me.
"And what could that possibly be?"
"You still haven't killed me as you said you said you would."

Amarth glances at me from where he kneels on the river bank a few feet away. I smile at him and he turns away. I huff, rolling my eyes. He stands up and begins moving north. to his annoyance I follow him. He glances at me, not seeing a rabbit hole. he trips, falling flat on the ground.
"Is that a part of your natural elven grace?" I laugh as he pushes himself up.
"You should really get out of my sight before I lose my temper." He growls.
I shrug and I can see he is beyond mad.
Which means I'm succeeding...
"I swear by morgoth if you don't leave me alone I'll-"
"Why do you do that?" I cut him off.
"Do what?"
"Swear by Morgoth. Do you Avari simply choose whether you want to swear by Illuvatar or Morgoth since
You do not believe in either?" I ask,
He turns and continues walking.
"My beliefs are none of your concern Morwen."
"Do you believe in Morgoth then? that he once walked this very earth?"
"I believe what I see." He snaps.
"And what have you seen?" He whirls around and glares at me.
"Alright fine, do you want to know the truth Morwen? I do believe that Morgoth once lived. Why do I believe
it? Because I have seen first hand the evil that he has wrought. I know it better than anyone else. And Illuvatar? I don't believe in him because I have seen no evidence that he exists. If he is so great and powerful why doesn't he do anything about the darkness in this world? Why doesn't he save it?" I'm truly surprised by his words. I never would have thought him to have such a view on this particular topic.
He turns and continues walking. Eventually, curiosity takes its course and I follow him, now wondering what his story is.
What torture has this elf been through
