I woke up and checked the date on my phone: Thursday July 7, 2016.

I squealed with excitement. Today was the day Caleb came back! And I hope he'll change his mind and come back for good...

I quickly ran down the stairs and found Mommy vlogging with Annie in the kitchen eating breakfast.

"Well there's our little H$! Good morning!" She said as she lifted the camera up to face me.

"Good morning!" I chirped as I grabbed a biscuit and piece of bacon off my plate.

Mommy shut off the camera and said, "Are you excited for later?"

"Excited? I'm thrilled!" Annie said.

"Me too! I'm counting down the hours!" I pulled out my phone and showed Mommy my count down: 10 hours, 2 minutes, 27 seconds.

Mommy chuckled. "Well, we should set up some decorations soon to make a mini celebration for Caleb coming back."

Annie and I nodded. "But we don't have decorations." Annie pointed out.

Daddy walked into the kitchen and had his car keys in his hand. "We can go shopping."

Annie and I quickly got dressed and went with Daddy to Party City to get balloons, streamers, banners, etc.

After that we went to a nearby bakery to order a cake. Then we went home with the cake, decorations, and of course presents!

By the time we got home it was already 1:30, so Annie and I were starving.

Mommy made us some grilled cheese sandwiches while Annie and I wrapped up our gifts. I kinda felt like Christmas!

Oh, and Caleb, if you're watching us wrap up your presents, STOP! It's a surprise!!

"Alrighty, girls, here are your sandwiches." Mommy placed the plates in front of us on the living room floor.

"Thanks!" We chirped as we nibbled on our sandwiches.

After wrapping the gifts we started to set up the decorations. Daddy lifted me up as I hung a banner across the window that read: HAPPY 14TH CALEB!

Annie hung up some banners by herself that were decorated with baseballs or saying 'Happy Birthday Caleb!' on it.

I couldn't wait until he came!!

It was finally 7:07 PM. Everyone went outside and we waited for Caleb. Then, it happened.

A big flash of light shown down from the sky. My phone read 7:08 PM.

"It's happening!!" I shouted.

The light got brighter, but I squinted in its direction and saw a shadowy figure come out of the light.

I started crying.

He was here.

He was back!

Caleb's back!

He stood there smiling at us. "I'm here!" He announced.

I bawled my eyes out as I ran over to him and hugged him.

And this time, I could see and feel him.

"You're here!" I cried into his shirt.

Caleb lifted me up and kissed my forehead. "I am."

Everyone else came running over and hugging him as we all cried.

"I missed you, Bubba." Annie sobbed.

"I missed you all so much!" Caleb said as he hugged everybody.

Mommy cried when he stood next to her. "You're still taller."

Caleb laughed. I hadn't heard his laugh or seen his smile for so long...

9 months long...

"Okay, I know we're all so happy and emotional, but let's not make this a sob show, 'kay?" Caleb said.

We all laughed and agreed.

"Come on, Caleb, we have to go to your room!" I insisted as I dragged him to the house.

We went downstairs and I showed him his bedroom.

"Nothing's changed." He said. "Why?"

"We wanted it to feel like you were still here and, you know, living." Dad explained.

Caleb nodded. "Is it okay if I sleep here for the week...?"

"Of course! It's your room!" Annie said.

"Thanks." Caleb said.

We all sat in his room and chatted for s while. He asked him about Heaven and how David, Toshi, and Riley were. He said Heaven was so beautiful the human vocabulary couldn't even begin to describe it, and that everyone was okay.

Later on Mommy and Daddy went upstairs for bed, but Annie and I slept with Caleb tonight.

I cuddled up next to him and whispered, "I missed you, and I'm so glad you're back."

"I'm glad I'm back too, Hayley." He whispered back as I fell asleep.

That was the first night in a long time that I fell asleep knowing that my whole family was in the house, keeping me safe.

And I hope that feeling never goes away.
