She felt empty on the inside

Getting ready inside Isabelle's room was an entirely new situation in itself. The girl had a wardrobe that could match that of a supermodel. Each item of clothing showed some form of skin when assembled in an outfit. Evie was far beyond jealous, never having owned as much nice clothing in her life, probably all together. If she was staying at the institute permanently she was looking forward to the shopping trip she would have to go on.

Clary currently wore a dress that Isabelle had chosen out for the elder Fray, as Isabelle had admitted to having no faith in the girls own capability to chose her own outfits. They started a conversation whilst Evie flicked through the bursting shelves of clothing.

"Is this the least revealing thing you have?" Clary questioned her tone showing a level of uncomfortable at what she was currently wearing.

"What? All the naughty bits are covered. A little too much in my opinion."

"You know Clar-Bear, Isabelle's right. You could do with showing a bit more skin. It might help you pull, you know you could do with a decent lad."

"Eve I do love you but shouldn't you be more focused on your own love life than mine?"

"Why should I do that when your love life is way more interesting than mine will ever be?" Evie retorted before slipping her way into the bathroom to change. She pulled on a maroon coloured crop top that had a mesh panelling around the collar and embroidery along the front, pairing this with a pair of high waisted black trouser and a black belt. Finally she matched it with a pair of fishnet socks and black brogues. Brushing her ginger hair into a deep side part, she French braided a section adding silver hair loops all the way down. The final accessory was a maroon chocker. Before leaving the bathroom, she concealed her throwing knives by strapping two to each calf and leaving the final one behind.

As she walked out the bathroom, Isabelle was preparing to start her pep talk that was aimed at Clary. This was going to be about as entertaining as the evening was likely to get, if what Evie had observed to be considered pep talks was anything to go on. It also didn't seem to be like a very Shadowhunter thing to do so that could be fun.

"And now this is the part where I give you the pep talk about harnessing your inner Shadowhunter and accepting your true destiny." Those were the chosen words as the pep talk was finished shortly afterwards. Sure the words were cute and could give people a tiny uplifting but from her expression alone Evie gathered Clary had been expecting much more. Evie spoke no words only offering what she deemed to be a supportive smile to her sister before they three left Isabelle's room and headed to the training room. This room had a dual purpose as it also acted as the weapon vault.

Evie couldn't help but marvel at the large variety of different weapons that were stored ready for the Shadowhunters to use. These weapons ranged from knives like her own to swords. There was even a section specially for bows with a variety of arrows. If someone wanted to kill her in the institute, that she had finally learnt was the name of the strange building they were currently in, it would take hours of processing to work out which one of the weapons was used. Essentially this was a mass murders heaven.

"They're sending Seelie scouts to search for Valentine, but they made it clear, the little girls do not leave the premises." Alec started though he was interrupted by two not so happy gingers.

"Hey, I'm not that little I'm 5'8" Evie whined as her sister also spoke up in distaste.

"Hey, my name is not 'little girl' okay? I don't care whatever this Clave thing or you want. I'm going to find Dot." Clary's disapproval of the statement seemed to be of just a valid reason as her own in Evie's eyes.

The room erupted into an argument as the three seasoned Shadowhunters started up and Clary was still very much inserting herself into their dynamic. Evie wasn't one for arguments especially when they could be easily avoided if those involved took a moment to compose their own thoughts, such as the case of this current one. If all those involved at the minute took a moment out they might be able to reach a mediated conclusion, especially if her sister took a step back. Evie loved Clary with her whole heart, but Clary had always had this firework like temper and a righteous attitude that did not mix very well. Towards, the end of the argument, not that many steps forward had been made, the necklace that Clary had been given by their mother began to emit a purplish glow. Clary's face fell void of any emotion almost as if her conscious being had been drawn elsewhere.

"I think I know where Dot it." Were the words her sister exclaimed as soon as she was back in the room.

The is young adults piled into Simon's van after discovering there was no such thing as a Shadowhunter Mobile. This greatly disappointed Evie as the concept was brilliant, a genius comedic element it would have been if it did exist. She would proclaim herself to be Robin, if it had existed, the perfect sidekick to fighting crime. Why Robin? It was simple really, Evie never viewed herself to be an important part of any story. That role would always go to Clary, always and forever. Evie's disappointment would only grow when the lead they had upon Dot turned out unfounded. At first the plan was to return to the institute and call it a night, Evie was fond of this plan she couldn't recall the last time she had eaten. And right now Evie would kill for some food, she didn't care what type as long as it was preferably a take away.

"Who are the Silent brothers?" Snapped her out of her thoughts of what she could get ordered.

"They're Shadowhunters with superior powers, who possess the ability to recover memories." Jace started to explain to her sister.

"A process that can also kill you, so there's that." And there was buzz kill Alec putting his two cent into the conversation. Though it didn't seem unfounded for the three long-term Shadowhunters seemed fearful of the Silent Brothers. Their reactions were enough to put a spanner of doubt in Evie's mind about this new sudden plan they had come up with whilst she had been thinking about food. The only thing she had decided was, that if they were to go after the help of these superior Shadowhunter's then she would put herself forward for the process of recovering her memories.

For that morning, upon checking the date on her phone, had been a rather harsh reminder of everything that she had lost recently. The tattooed ink on her upper forearm also didn't allow for her forgetting the importance of today. The Roman numerals for the date exactly a month prior were a permanent reminder of her past. A reminder that her life was never one to go smoothly. Evie had started to fully believe that she was shrouded in some form of bad luck. And therefore, if there was any risk that she was to die from such a process it was a risk she was willing to take.

The six approached what seemed to be a large building with intricate decorations on the outside. It was out of place to its surroundings and had a very gothic feel to it. Fitting what she had established to be the aesthetic of the Shadowhunters. It was then that Jace shared some information that they probably should have considered beforehand, as it was unnecessary that all six had made the journey.

"Only one of you can go inside." Jace finally informed the twins.

"I'll do it." Evie jumped at the opportunity not even allowing Clary the chance to open her mouth to put herself forwards. This statement shocked the two Lightwood siblings as the younger girl, thus far, was not much of a talker and had been the first thing she had said since they had left the institute hours prior.

"I won't let you go Eve, I'm the older sister, it's my responsibility to look after you so I should be the one going. Especially considering there is a chance of death." Clary tried to argue against her sister.

"A chance of death, I know Clary. Perhaps I might get another chance to see Gret. Clary I miss her so so much, please let me go. I'm begging you Clary please." Evie's voice broke as she spoke her unshed tears gathering in her eyes. She took a hold of her elder sister's hand and continued their conversation through their eyes. "I love you." Were the last words Evie spoke as Clary sighed in defeat. Clary shook her head towards Simon as she watched her younger sister and Jace walk inside the building.

Jace walked to the side of the younger Fray sister, he hadn't until this moment had much of a chance to speak to the younger girl. He knew next to nothing about her other than her name and relations, though took this time to study her. She was much taller than her sister though both shared the same vibrant red hair. She walked in a completely different manner as well, where Clary walked as though she was in charge of everything going on much like the way she acted, Evie was much different walking as though she was ready for something to jump out at her at any given moment. He activated the witch light in his pocket and looked at the girls intrigued face. "It's a witch light. We carry it to remind us that light can be found even in the darkest of places."

"That's pretty cool, and I'm almost 100% sure you just quoted Professor Dumbledore."
