Ojirou's POV

Words can't describe how nervous but excited I was to be playing in the Cafeteria! Ever since middle school, I've been really scared to even bring my ukulele out in public. I was already bullied a bit for being so ordinary, the ukulele only added onto that, kids didn't think I was "manly enough" for playing a small instrument (with painted on cherry blossoms no less). It shouldn't have gotten to me but back then I wasn't really in the best position..

But now I have friends that encourage me! I don't have to be so paranoid to practice quietly in my room! Or worry about annoying coming in while it's out! It's like a weight is lifting off of my chest. I know it's a stupid thing to be so self-conscious over, but either way it feels great to be free of such a burden.

Apparently my excitement could be seen in class, I didn't even realize it but my tail was wagging moderately fast and only stopped when Kaminari pet the hair at the end and wrapped his hands around it.

I only looked back at him to exchange smiles, then I turned back around to pay attention as much as I could in the rest of the class, Kaminari still petting my tail throughout the rest of the period.

"Soooo...are you exciteeed???" Hagakure looked over at me, she may be invisible but I could just tell she was teasing me about..him rather than playing for the class.

"Excited that he'll hear me?? Possibly.." I blushed lightly, tail now hanging low and wagging very slowly as I look down to my ukulele case with a shy smile.

"He always sits close to our class table, so he'll definitely hear! And I've heard you sing, if isn't in love with you already, he definitely will be after today!" Hagakure turned to run in front of me and held out her arms excitedly. I could hear the bright smile in her voice. I roll my eyes, embarrassed. We walk into lunch where some of our classmates are waiting for us with their lunches (minus one). Namely Shouji, Tokoyami, Kirishima, Bakugou, Mina and Aoyama.

"Good luck!"
"Best of wishes, mon ami~"

Shouji gives me six thumbs up.
"Are we buying my lunch or what?"

Everyone wishes me well and Tokoyami inquires about his lunch. I chuckle quietly to myself and hand my ukulele over to Shouji for him to protect it. After that's situated, Tokoyami and I walk over into the lunch line where we see the rest of our class. As well as the others already sat at the table, they wish me luck with bright smiles! Even Todoroki! Truly almost as rare of a sight as Bakugou being encouraging. Maybe Midoriya is rubbing off on them both... Hagakure then punches me a little too hard in the shoulder and gestures to..him.

Apparently he had already been staring at me, when I looked over at him his purple hair swished quickly to look away, a hint of pink dusted on his cheeks. His friends in the General Studies class seem to be looking at him curiously until he waves them off and sits down at their regular table. The one right next to ours.

I feel my heart jump into my throat and my tail wags so fast it hits Hagakure multiple times on the leg before she's able to stop it.

"Geez! I get you're in love with him but you don't have to take it out on me!" She swats my tail gently. I glare at her once I see that some classmates have looked back to us after what she said. Oh no..

"owo What's this?-"Kaminari starts before he's cut off by Sero.
"Never say that aloud ever again." He chuckles and Kaminari slaps his arm before resuming.

"Ojirou has a cruuuush??~" Kaminari leans closer to me.

"I'd say it's fairly obvious who he has a crush on." Tokoyami looks up to Kaminari as I pay for both of our food.

"Really? Then who??" Oh poor clueless Kaminari..

Dark Shadow then emerges out of Tokoyami's naval, going up to Kaminari's height and facing him directly.

"You really don't know? It's Sh-!"

"Dark Shadow."

"Geez..alright fine mom..." Dark Shadow sulks before returning back into Tokoyami.

" 'Sh' ?" Kaminari repeats the single sound, looking back to Tokoyami and I.

"Shiozaki?"
"No, Hagakure said it was a guy."

"Alright then, Shishida?"
"They may both be furries but no."
"Tokoyami!"
"Hah."

"Shouji?"
"It better not be..."
"What was that Toko?"
"Nothing!"

Kaminari chuckles. "Shinsou?"

Tokoyami and I look to eachother, thankfully seeing our food was finished so we grabbed it and (Lunch) rushed out of there. Dark Shadow formed only to yell a quick "ABORT!" before going back inside Tokoyami.

"WAIT IT'S REALLY HIM?"

"SEE YOU AT THE TABLE-!"

Tokoyami, Hagakure and I speed walk to the table. Hagakure sits next to Mina and I sit next to her, Tokoyami sits across from me next to Shouji. I see I'm at the edge of the seat, closest to the table of the General Studies kids. Greeeat,,

Hagakure winks at me before eating her food. I roll my eyes as I start eating quickly, we're all really early but I want as much time to play as possible.

I finished a lot faster than I thought and threw away my trash. I speed walk to the table ecstatically and plop onto my seat, pulling up my ukulele case and taking it out.

I see Shouji and Hagakure tell everyone that I was about to start from the corner of my eye. Tokoyami sips his apple juice and gives me a thumbs up while I tune my ukulele and I flash him a shy but bright smile as my cheeks slowly warm up.

Hagakure whispers to me that Shinsou is looking after at me and it takes everything in my power to not snap my head over to look at him as I finish up my tuning. Dark Shadow is summoned and lays on top of the table to watch and cheer me on.

"So, any suggestions?"

Everyone starts yelling multiple songs, all of which I knew surprisingly. Iida then calms them down quickly and pulls out a pen and a sheet of paper. ..does he always just carry that with him..?

"Everybody settle down! Write your song request on this slip of paper and Ojirou can play them in order! But one song per person please!" He said as he passes the paper to the first person (Tokoyami) and it gets passed around swiftly. Even Bakugou writes down a song.

As the paper is passed back to me I look through the song selection. We Don't Believe What's on TV is first, then uwu by Chevy, Cecily Smith, Legend, the Island Song from Adventure Time, You by Dodie, Absolutely Smitten by Dodie..there was a lot of Dodie. There was also so much more, even You Will Be Found from Dear Evan Hansen. I ready my ukulele in front of my chest and start playing the beginning of We Don't Believe What's On TV expertly, my chords incredibly clear and my finger movements on both hands smooth. I see the shocked, proud and impressed looks on everyone's faces and all I think is "This is going to be fun". I then shout the beginning lyrics, and Tokoyami, Bakugou and Jirou join in on what I'm guessing is emo instinct.

"YEAH YEAH YEAH!"

Ojirou's POV

I've honestly never felt more alive and confident. To be surrounded by who you love, and even random strangers, just cheering you on is the best thing to ever happen to me.

Even the 1-B kids were singing along to my class and I, and I was certain they hated us! I saw Shinsou singing along and staring at me while blushing, I stared back and felt my chest explode with butterflies. Once I finished all my songs, which ended with Flamingo by Kero Kero Bonito, my friends, the table of 1-B and the General Studies, and so many more people applauded me and I felt like I was going to cry honestly.

Hagakure side hugged me as I set my ukulele back in it's case. Everyone was either giving me a thumbs up or blowing me a kiss. It was a scene you'd see in an r/thathappened story. Dark Shadow even came out just to scream "FUCK ME DADDY TILL MY FACE FALLS OFF!"

It was hilarious, and this is really something I would never forget.
