Ch. 57- When a Tiger Boy Gives You Arm Slings

Sero's POV

I woke up barely a minute later from the sounds of screaming and yelling. It felt as if I was out of my own body, like I was staring at the scene around me through brightened eyelids; unable to make out faces and details, but silouhettes seen through a blinding light.

Only one thought had crossed my mind...

Is this how Alligators feel?

"Are they waking up? Oh- Dark Shadow! Is Tokoyami okay?!?!"

"He's alright! Although he was injured, I took most of the hit!!"

"Oh- are you okay then!?"

"I don't feel pain! I have no nerves, so the only time I really feel it is when light hits me because it rips my body to shreds!"

"...oh!"

"Hitoshi and Bakugou are still asleep, but their breathing is completely even! I see a few broken bones on their left side, though!"

"Those can be fixed by Recovery Girl, no problem. We just need a way to get back to UA first. Sero should be fine as well even though he took the worst of it."

"Geez the openings in his elbows went from slight slits to gaping holes..."

"He's losing blood, but not at an alarming rate. Wish he was awake, though... he could make splints for the other three and Kaminari."

"I'm alright, Shouji! Really!!"

"Kaminari Denki, the side of your face is fractured, there's glass sticking out of your broken deltoid muscle, and you can see the fractured bones in your face nearly puncturing your eye."

"Dude, doesn't it hurt to blink?!"

"..yep!"

"I'll stick one of my jacks into your body, Kami. The sound vibrations create friction with the air inside you to create heat. It'll basically feel like a whole heating pad is inside your body.. but there'll be a pinch when it penetrates the skin."

"Jirou, it's fine! It hurts less than it looks!"

"..that's because of the adrenline coursing through your veins, but alright. Tell me when the pain becomes unbearable."

"Yep!"

When it felt as if my soul had returned to my body, I opened my eyes slowly and looked above me. I was laying on a small floor mattress by the side of the road, so luckily I didn't feel the conducted heat from the asphalt anymore.

I painfully turned my head to the side to look at those sleeping next to me. Tokoyami looked relatively ok, Shinsou was a little bloody and you could see his arm was slightly bent out of shape, and Bakugou's entire left side was covered in bruises, as well as blood caking and running down his side.

The splitting pain in my elbows was nearly unbearable, but I managed to keep silent even as tears gathered in my eyes.

What I'm really concerned about is how we're blocking the road for all of these people... some of them must have really important places to go.

"I think... we should move..." I mutter out breathlessly. Denki's head snaps over to look at me and he's immediately rushed over, on his hands and knees down to my level and cupping my face in his hands.

"HANTA!! YOU'RE AWAKE!!!" He almost starts crying and kisses me all over the face. The pain I feel in my body is overwhelming...but... somehow his kisses could block out the pain.

"Yeah... I'm up..." I pushed myself up with my arms, shockwaves of pure fire shooting into my elbows and almost making me collapse once more. I sharply inhaled a breath and let a couple tears fall from my eyes.

"Hanta no! You need to lay back down!!"

"No... we need to move... we're in these poor peoples' way on a goddamn bridge. Who knows how bad the blockage could be right now..."

Kaminari stared at me in shock for a solid five seconds, eyes flickering down at the ground beneath us, and, eventually, a small grin appeared on his face. He lightly thumped my chest.

"Damn you, Hanta... always thinking of others before yourself." He smiled at me.

Just as quickly as he scrambled towards me, he jumped back on his legs into a squat and looked at Shouji.

"How many of them do you think you could carry at once?"

"All of them. Why?"

"Hanta says to move so everyone on the bridge can pass by." Shouji looks at me incredulously.

"But... the amount of pain you must be in... I understand caring for the welfare of others, but in a state like this? You should be top priority."

"Shouji, don't lie to me. You know you'd do the same thing if you were me." I smiled smugly at him, my sigmature grin returning. I see his mouth open beneath his mask, and then close again. He sighs and picks up Tokoyami and Shinsou in his first set of arms, and Bakugou in one of his second. He quickly grabbed me in one of his hands and held me in his final second set. The skin between his arms are so stretchy and soft... like a hammock.

"Kaminari, pick up the mattresses please?"

"You got it. EVERYONE! GET OFF THE BRIDGE AS FAST YOU CAN GO!" He screams out at the rest of our class. Midoriya immediately picks up Todoroki bridal style and z O O M S. Iida does the same to Aoyama, and everyone else is left to run in their dust.

"Wait!!!" A voice calls out from behind us, a guy who looked to be around our age I think. He has silver-ish white hair in a choppy cut and a single black streak running down the only long lock of hair he had on the side of his face, his eyes were a mix of purple and yellow, and he looked really nervous. Shouji turned to look at him.

"Can I help you?"

"Yes! Uhm, I heard you talking about how you wish splints could be made... I don't have any splints, but I have enough arm slings for your friends!" He says with a slightly nervous smile and holds out the slings with shakey hands. Shouji looks in surprise and takes them.

"Thank you so much, sir."

"Please, call me Atsushi!"

"Right, thank you so much, Atsushi." Shouji bows quickly and makes a run off the bridge. I heard the same guy from before having a quiet conversation.

"You didn't have to help him, y'know. His friends looked fine."

"Ranpo, do you ever care for anyone aside from yourself?"

"Of course I do!!! I'm insulted!"

"Riiight.."

Seemed like a fun pair.

We made it to the foot of the bridge only a few minutes later, sliding across the grass and jogging to the rest of our classmates who were basically along the coastline. The cars began driving quickly down the bridge, and I heaved a sigh of relief. At least we aren't a public nuisance anymore.

Shouji laid the four of us out on the soft grass, grabbing the slings once we were all laid flat out on the ground.

He started with Bakugou, since he obviously got hit the worst. His face was even contorted into one of pure pain and agony as he slept; I've never seen him so vulnerable and scared. No matter how gently and lightly Shouji touched his arms, he'd instinctively flinch.

"...Kirishima, mind giving me a hand here?"

"Oh- sure thing, man."

When Kirishima walked up, he looked so depressed to see Bakugou in such a state. Yet, when he got closer, Bakugou's face eased just a bit.

"Sit next to Bakugou, maybe stroke his hair a bit. He's much calmer when you're around."

"Uhm, okay." Kirishima sat down next to Bakugou and began running his hands through his hair. Bakugou looked actually normal for once, expression completely relaxed. Even as Shouji slid the sling over his shoulder, Bakugou stayed calm, eyes only occasionally twitching if Shouji grazed an especially sore spot.

God, they're so gay.

"Dark Shadow, do you think you could channel your energy through Fumi's arm so he'll feel less pain? It's only a fracture, but it still must hurt."

"No problem Mezou!"

Dark Shadow disappeared inside Tokoyami, and Shouji put the sling on him with no problems. Once he finished, he leant down and slightly pulled off his mask, giving Tokoyami a small kiss.

God, they're so gay.

The arm that Shinsou hurt was the same one that was scarred over with burns, and burned nerves can't feel anything, so Shinsou's sling went on without a problem as well.

I had to have on double slings, and it was a painful process to bend my arms to get them to fit... but, in the end, my arms had much less pressure put onto them and felt much better.

"I'll have to find Atsushi one of these days... his gifts are very much appreciated." Shouji wiped sweat off of his forehead.

"Maybe first we should focus on a way to get home?" I laugh quietly.

"Already done that." Mr. Aizawa says simply, putting his phone back into his pocket.

"Multiple teachers and staff are coming to pick us up in different cars. We won't be bunched together, and thus, no longer a target." He nods down at me.

"Aizawa... you're a God."

"Hey, no one nearly kills my kids on my watch. They'll pay." His red eyes glint maliciously in the sun.

What would we ever do without Aizawa?
