A few of my freshman teammates congratulated me for the goals. But the questioned still pondered in my head. Laurence purposely didn't make the goal.

Soon, my teammates left for the next match, freshman vs Sophomore. Yikes.

I tried standing up, and I had to use only one leg. The other one hurt if I set it down.

"How's your ankle" I look up.

"It's fine.. " I say looking down quickly realizing it's Garroth. I just didn't want to talk to him right now.

"It doesn't look fine to me... " He said, he sounded more worried but I didn't care. I wish he would just go away.

"I said it's fine" I repeated. I saw his shadow, and he shifted from what I could tell.

"I'm sorry... "

"For what?" I say looking up.

"For everything... For the fight with you" He sighed "I just, accused you. I didn't really know what happened. All I saw was that you pushed her. She would have pushed you first. " I felt my shoulders tense down, in fact, everything tense down. I felt... loose.

"I dont forgive you" I saw him frown and slouch. "Not until you do all my homework, and... "

"And?" He said with an eye brow raised. "And take you on date?" He said smirking.

"Sure" I say smiling.

"-Wait really?" He said as he jerked his head up.

"Yea... Now help me up!" I say putting my arms up. He laughed as he put an arm around my waist to support me. "I see your arm just so you know"

"I know" He said slyly, totally taking an advantage of the situation. I hated it and loved it. And for a second, just for a second, it was like it was just him and I.

"Now help me get back to class-

"Hey you two." Laurance said, panting from the soccer match.

"Hey!" I say, I was in a better mood now that Garroth asked me out (😊)

"Can I talk to you for a second?" He said putting a price of his hair back. I looked and Garroth he said it's fine with him

"Can you help me?"

"With what?"

"Standing up dummy!" I say laughing, Garroth and Laurance joined in. Once I was by laurence's side, he held me up

"So,... I'm sorry"

"It's fine!" I say smiling. I wasn't that mad at him. "I'm sorry too. I just got so mad"

He shook his head. "That too but I'm, your ankle" I tilt my head.

"That wasn't your fault... "

"It was... I was the one that caused it" He said looking away. I didn't know what to say... Except that it was okay.. Hmm..

I let out a gasp, which made him look at me "You sabotaged me so you could win!" I say sarcastically. He just looked worse so I grabbed his cheek to make him look at me. The shot that Laurance missed... It made sense. He was trying to make it up to me "I'm serious it's fine... Especially since you missed that shot for me"

"You noticed that?"

I nod

"When the captain of the soccer team, misses the EASIEST goal of their life.. It's noted."

"Wow, I can't get anything past you, now can I?"

"You betcha. Now help me get to class you backa!"

Where is he? I mentally say. I stood by the bleachers with my crutches because thankfully the nurse had some I didnt know why she had some, but I wasn't complaining. I check the time on my phone. It's already been 7 minutes...

"Hey kitten"

"Your late" I grumble looking down

"Heard that. " He snapped. "But I'll let it slide" I look up realizing it was just him and I. "You must be wondering where everyone else is. " He said, with his voice trailing off. He sat down next to me, and I scooted a bit away. I didn't want to be too near him.

"No, not really... " I say shaking me head. He looks ahead, and continues as If I had never interrupted him in the first place.

"I called them off because I wanted to talk... privately with you." He looked over his shoulder

"About what?" I say as I shifted my elbows. I placed my hand on the bench getting a grip on it.

"Well, I do have your photos" I sigh.

"I know"

"And in exchange for not telling Garroth about it... " He scooted a bit closer to me. "I wanted you... to become my girlfriend"

"Your, Girlfriend?" I scoff. I cross my arms. "That'll only make things worse. And why would I want to do that?"

"Because.. " He said, his voice trailing off. He stood up with his hands behind his back. "It'll actually make things better. In fact. A win-win situation"

"What would I gain from that? If anything , I'd lose-

"HM. Well, I guess I'll show Garroth.. " Gene started to walk away but I sprinted over to him and tugged his arm.

"NO! Please.. " I gripped onto his uniform and he turned around and faced me, making me face plant into his chest.

"I'm guessing your in Kitten?" Gene said as I felt his hand in my hair. I look up, and I close my eyes

"I'm in. "

A/N This would be such a good build up for a Gene x Reader..... Or maybe this was a Gene x Reader all along? OooOoo!
Anyways! Guess what! (What!) I'm making myself a blanket out a fleece! Isint that great? And yes, I do get cold during the summer! ☀ Ah! Gotta go!
