Chapter One
"Hahaha! Bet you can't catch me!" Her laugh rang out and pierced the silence of the cold night. Almost sparkling, the two ponytails swayed behind her as she leap from roof to roof while a coal black figure raced behind her. Chat Noir's green eyes twinkled with amusement as he playfully dashed ahead of her, sliding against the night's air as if gravity was nonexistent.
"Are you so sure, M'Lady? Cats are pretty fast..." He smirked as he stared intently at her, almost begging for a response as he leap again.
However, the tables turned for the spotted vigilante as she sharply dodged left, leaving the Cat unprepared as he barreled into the french river, the Seine.
"SPLASH" She covered her mouth to stifle her laughs, but her hands eventually gave way to her howls of laughter as Chat Noir pitifully crawled out of the water. His green eyes were now narrowed with annoyance and his ears were plastered against his head while he attempted to shake the water out of his wild, golden hair.
"Very funny." He grumbled as he approached the smiling heroine, glaring at those bluebell eyes in a whole different way than he did before.
Suddenly, a soft breeze began to blow as she motioned Chat towards her. She sat down on a small, wooden bench, painted with hearts and a line that read 'The city of Love' on it. Forgetting all about being wet, Chat walked towards her, feeling a warm sensation spread throughout his body.
"M'Lady?" He asked, his voice slightly wavering from anticipation. He had never felt so much happiness in his life, and it was overwhelming his emotions. Her suit glowed a dazzling red in the reflected light of the moon. She sat in silence while Chat tried to think what to say.
"Tonight's pretty beautiful, don't you thi-!" Before Chat could finish, she pulled him in by his bell and stared into his eyes.
"Stop." She whispered. "Before anything, I need to do something. Something important for me. Something important to you."
Chat's cheeks turned a crimson red. "O-okay..." He stuttered.
Suddenly, it happened.
She kissed him.
Not just any kiss. A long, passionate kiss. Beautiful in every way. Chat's widened eyes slowly closed as he felt her arms around his neck. His mind cleared and his heart exploded with love and joy.
After what seemed to be forever, she pulled back. However, her bluebell eyes clouded. "T-thank you. I know that was unexpected, but it was long overdue."
Chat, still feeling love overflowing within him, smiled. "At least now we are together..."
Abruptly, she put her hands over her eyes. "EXCEPT WE AREN'T, CHAT!"
Chat was taken aback by her sudden sorrowful tone. It felt like an arrow had just gashed his heart. "W-why?"
Her eyes began to tear up. "I'm sorry for every time I rejected you. I'm sorry I could see it before..." Chat looked confused as he tried to comfort her. "What? No! You weren't-"
She cut him off again. "I was such an oblivious fool! I should realized-" Then she stopped. Silence overtook the night again while Chat sat in shock.
"But that was in the past. We can't let that effect our future!" Chat insisted.
"But..." She choked. "I'm not real..."
Chat stared at her, then reached out to touch her cheek. "Yes you are."
But that did no use. She pushed away his hand, and cold look flashed from her eyes.
"What is my name?" She said solmomly.
Chat laughed. "Don't be ridiculous! It's-" He stopped. Her name... What was it! Thoughts swirled around head as he desperately tried to remember.
"Good Bye..." She whispered as she faded away into nothing, along with the rest of the world around Chat.
"No!" Chat Screeched, reaching out for the arm of his Lady that was no longer there.
As he fell into a spiraling darkness, he felt any shred of hope leave him. He was alone.
"I'm sorry"
All at once, Adrien shot up in bed, still panting and his eyes darting around like a mad man.
Plagg shot up from his spot next to Adrien, alarm in his eyes. "Adrien? Adrien!" He yelled as he tried snap Adrien out of his trance.
Adrien started to settle down at the sound of Plagg's voice. His shoulders relaxed, but he was still traumatized from what happened in the depths of his dream.
Plagg stared down at him, his voice pricked with worry which was very unusual for cheese-eating Kwami. "Hey kid! You alright?!?"
But Adrien did not answer. Instead, he said: "Ladybug...".
