Brace For It
My body reacted before I could think about it, as I dove in front of Tamaki's kneeling figure.
I had a bad feeling about this whole situation, and apparently I was correct, as I saw a man from the crowd pointing a gun directly at Tamaki's head.
If that bullet hit him, he would be dead for sure.
Tamaki was taller than me. But luckily, he was kneeling so I knew I'd be able to protect his head.
"TAMAKI!!" I screamed, feeling a sharp piercing pain sting throughout my stomach.
Ow, I got shot.
"Manipulation Sensation!!" Fat Gum called out in panic.
"Margo!?!" Tamaki yelled, upon seeing me bleeding now.
"MARGO!!!" Eijirou screamed, running over and yanking me off the floor.
Chaos began ensuing around the city, once the sound of the gunshot was heard.
I groaned in slight pain, seeing a light trail of blood coming from my stomach.
Seems like the shot is above any fatal organs. I'll be okay.
After ten years of experimentations on my body, I knew pretty much everything about human anatomy at this point.
My eyes whipped back around to the gunman, seeing him pointing his gun at Tamaki again.
Tamaki was too horrified by what I just did for him, in order to process anything.
"TAMAKI, LOOK OUT!!!" I screamed out in pure panic.
Upon hearing my words, Eijirou harshly dropped me onto the floor, completely leaving me and running over to Tamaki.
I was completely horrified, as I watched Eijirou dive in front of Tamaki, activating his quirk and taking a bullet to the face.
"KIRISHIMA!!!" I screamed, as I watched his head whip backwards from the force of the bullet.
I watched the bullet bounce off his head, not piercing him in the slightest.
"I'm okay!! I'm going after him!" He called out to me, charging after the gunman.
"I'll go with you!" I yelled out, starting to run towards him, before I was dragged back by Fat Gum.
"Manipulation Sensation!! Tamaki's quirk isn't working! I need you to stay here and help him hold this area off!" Fat Gum yelled to me, running in Eijirou's direction.
Clearly, Fat Gum isn't aware that I just got shot in the stomach.
I grit my teeth, thinking about Sir Nighteye words:
"I saw that you will have a successful future. But, in this future, Kirishima Eijirou was present."
I had no time to mull over this further, as Tamaki's voice pierced my thoughts.
"MARGO, BEHIND YOU!!" He yelled out in desperation.
Without even looking, I quickly rolled to the side, hearing the whooshing of a weapon barely miss me.
Sloppily shuffling to my feet, I assessed the situation, seeing five gangster looking men with bats charging at me. None of them appeared to have a gun.
There was a crowd of civilians forming around me, Tamaki, and the gangsters as I tried to figure out my next move.
Luckily, I'm a little too hyped up on adrenaline right now to feel the pain of my gunshot wound.
I'll start by using my quirk on the biggest guy. Then, I'll work my way down.
I quickly outstretched my hand, bracing myself for the pain I was about to create from my quirk.
Except, nothing happened.
My eyes widened in slight confusion, trying to activate pain again.
Nothing.
I suddenly looked over at Tamaki, now realizing what Fat Gum said earlier.
Tamaki's quirk doesn't work either. Why?
My eyes trailed down to his shoulder, seeing a trail of blood dripping from it.
So Tamaki got shot, too.
The bad men smirked at me now, as they realized my predicament.
"Well, that's unfortunate, isn't it?" I mumbled out tiredly, getting into my fight stance.
Looks like I'll settle this the old fashioned way.
"Tamaki, I need you to keep the crowd of civilians far away. Okay?" I called out.
"Margo, it's five against one. There's no way I'm leaving you here!" Tamaki called out firmly, his social anxiety nowhere to be seen right now.
I didn't have time to respond as one of the men dove at me, swinging his bat at my face.
I expertly side stepped the attack, getting my hands around his bat, and kicking it out of his grasp.
I watched it slide to the floor, quickly foot sweeping the, now weaponless, man.
He grunted, as his back hit the ground harshly, not being able to register my elbow connecting with his temple, immediately after.
I barely had time to make sure he was unconscious, as I quickly somersaulted out of the way of the second attacker.
Still kneeling on the ground, I outstretched my leg, kicking the second attacker in the back of the knee, watching him stumble from the force.
I jumped up now, running quickly at his unbalanced figure, and kneed him in the ribs, before sending my fist into his face.
He groaned in pain, quickly falling to the ground.
I looked over, seeing Tamaki reluctantly ushering the civilians back, like I had asked him to.
Realizing that the civilians were far enough away now, I quickly pulled out a small pouch that was strapped to my thigh...waiting for the next two men to get closer to me, as they sprinted full force.
Once I judged their correct distance, I tore open the little pouch with my fingers, sending a poison powder flying into their faces.
Thanks for that one, Shigaraki.
Both of the men dropped their bats, rubbing their eyes frantically, and shrieking in pain from the agonizing, noxious powder.
I slid my foot under one of the nearest bats, easily kicking it up into my hands, and slamming it into the mens heads harshly.
Their eyes rolled back into their heads, as they simultaneously slumped down to the floor.
I quickly assessed the area, not seeing anymore bad guys.
Wasn't there one more—
I let out a sharp breath, upon feeling a bat hit me right in the side of my stomach...which already had a gunshot wound inside of it.
Damn, I'm gonna be sore tomorrow.
Feeling weaker now, from blood loss, I stumbled to the ground. I saw the last bad guy holding his bat, going for the final blow to my head, before....
"Suneater!" I exclaimed, seeing Tamaki come out of nowhere and slam his fist into the bad guy's temple.
The last bad guy fell to the floor, knocked unconscious from Tamaki's hit.
"Margo, are you okay?" He asked worriedly, gently helping me to my feet.
I felt a little woozy from the gunshot wound blood loss, but I would be okay.
More importantly, I needed to get to Eijirou.
"Yeah. I'm fine. Thanks for the help, Tamaki. I'm gonna go check on Fat and Kirishima!" I called out, running off.
"Wait! You're bleeding!" Tamaki called out to me in concern.
"So are you!" I called back breathlessly, turning around the corner, out of his sight.
I needed to make sure I was near Eijirou. I needed to make sure Sir Nighteye's foresight would come true. I knew it was supposed to happen, but I didn't know when.
It could be at any moment, and I needed to be ready.
.......
"Man, that was really something else!"
"You saved our lives!"
"You're so brave!"
Were some of the comments I heard as I was getting ready to turn another corner of the city.
Civilians. Who were they talking to?
I quickly turned the corner, my eyes widening in surprise.
"What's your hero name!?" A guy beamed, looking at Eijirou in complete awe.
He was surrounded by a small group of people.
"Thank you! My name is Red Riot." Eijirou exclaimed confidently, giving a respectful nod, before continuing.
I couldn't help the giant smile from forming on my face, completely elated that people were recognizing Eijirou's power.
"Listen, I'd love to stay and chat, but my friend...she's been hurt. I really need to get to her—"
"Red Riot!" I called out, running weakly over to him and Fat Gum.
Eijirou's eyes widened upon seeing me, quickly pushing his way through the crowd and running over to me.
My smile fell slightly when I saw he also looked pretty tired and beat up.
"Are you okay?" I asked him, noticing Fat Gum was occupied talking with the crowd and the police a few feet away.
Eijirou chuckled worriedly, before looking me up and down.
"Are you seriously asking me that? You're the one who got shot. Come on, you need a doctor immediately." Eijirou mumbled, dragging my hand over to where the ambulances were waiting.
"I'll be alright. I'm more concerned about my quirk, to be honest." I sighed out tiredly, blankly looking up at the night sky.
"Your quirk? What happened to your quirk?" Eijirou asked, mulling over one of his own thoughts now.
"It just disappeared. It vanished, and it didn't happen until after I got shot. I have a feeling Overhaul is behind this. I've been on the other side of his bullets before. Bullets that mess with your quirk seem to be his style, you know." I said, slightly concerned that Overhaul might have seen me here.
"I know what you mean. Everyone's quirk is all out of whack tonight. I just fought a guy who had the exact opposite. His quirk was ten times stronger. It took everything I had just to barely beat him." Eijirou sighed out, running a hand through his, now deflated, hair.
I smiled softly at the thought of Eijirou kicking that villains ass.
"But you did beat him...and I wish I could have seen it." I grinned, lightly brushing his hand before quickly pulling away, since we were in public.
Eijirou smiled at me tiredly now, his eyes still beaming with adrenaline.
"Man, Margo. I wish you could have seen it. I....I did something really cool with my quirk, something I didn't even know I could do. I've officially made it my ultimate move." He breathed out, slightly surprised with himself.
"Wow! It's that big, huh? What did you do!?" I asked him excitedly.
"I—well, it's kind of hard to explain. It doesn't sound as cool when I just say it. I-I'd rather show you." He mumbled, starting to become a little shy as he talked about his accomplishments.
I smiled softly at him, before noticed his muscles were twitching with weakness and pain.
"Show me later, then. Right now, you need rest." I muttered, lightly nudging his shoulder.
Wow, whatever Eijirou did tonight....it looks like it depleted most of his energy levels.
He shot me a sheepish grin, letting out a sigh of relief.
"Right! I'll show you tomorrow or something. Oh...and I,uh...almost forgot to tell you what I named my ultimate move. It's...something special to me." He uttered out softly, his cheeks turning slightly pink at the thought.
"What did you name it?" I asked eagerly, feeling amused by this flustered side of him.
Eijirou was quiet for a moment, clearing his throat slightly before he spoke.
"I-I named it....unbreaka—"
"—Miss! We need to take care of that gunshot wound immediately!" The EMT interrupted, quickly yanking me away from Eijirou.
I sighed softly, shooting Eijirou an apologetic look.
"Looks like you'll have to tell me another time!" I called out to him, before turning to the medic.
"I'm fine, seriously. I've been through much worse than a gunshot wound." I shrugged nonchalantly, watching the medics freaking out over my blood loss.
I wasn't lying. What I went through, At Nyushin labs for ten years, definitely topped a measly little gunshot wound.
I was used to pain, bracing for it...feeling it....accepting it.
So, it'd take a lot more than a shot to the side to bring me down.
You hear me, Overhaul?
