I looked up, hopeful, teary-eyed, and shocked.

"....Aph.....can you...can you h-hear...me?" 

Nothing happened. 

My heart floated amongst the sea for that moment, but then sank past the ocean floor, towards earth's core.

I felt another squeeze on my hand.

"APH! Oh my Irene, thank you!" 

The doctors piled in. It was a miracle. 

She was a miracle.

She slowly opened her eyes. She croaked out.

".....Aaron......" 

"Yes, oh my Irene, yes...what is it..." I was covering my tears of sorrow with tears of joy.

"Is what you said...true?" She managed out, hope laced in every millimeter of her voice.

I stood up and kissed her on the lips. 

Her lips on mine and mine on hers. 

This time, her lips were warm.

We released and I said the words that I always wanted to say.

This time she was awake.

"I love you Aphmau Shu Phoenix, I'm sorry if you thought I played you but I would never do that......I'm so sorry.......I love you from the bottom of my heart...."

She shifted and groaned in pain and smiled the smile I thought I would never see again.

"I love you too Aaron..."

"Aphmau......when I saw you lying there......I felt like it was my fault....I thought the reason that you didn't talk to me is that you wanted me to move on.....heh..I'm an idiot."

"No.....i'm sorry.....I accused you of being a jerk and I-I...."

"Aph..."

"yeah, Aaron?" She asked curiously

"Will you be my girlfriend?"

She smiled and laughed and said with no hesitation....

"Yes..."

We kissed and I swear sparks flew and fireworks erupted somewhere in the world.

I was the happiest guy in the world, 

or so I thought

The next few days, Aphmau was getting settled in back home, she had a few broken ribs and other injuries so she stayed home for a bit. 

I planned to visit her every day.

Everyone was overjoyed by Aphmau's returned. 

Now since Sylvana is happy, I need to think when I can tell her about Aph and I and when I should plan out my funeral.

Despite her, I will never ever be afraid anymore Aphmau Shu Phoenix.
