When in my life,
have I ever let candy
take away my precaution?

I wanted to slap myself,
punch myself even,
for being so stupid as to sleep in an alley on Halloween night.

Waking up to a man half naked
with my clothes going on the same road,
reminded me too much of Riley.

I didn’t think,
I didn’t hesitate,
I just did it.

And in the next second,
before the pedophile could unclip my bra,
I swung my hand back…

And slammed it so hard into his head,
that he immediately
fell unconscious.

I grabbed his phone that slipped out of his pocket,
dialed 911,
and told them what happened, and where I was.

I wasn’t stupid though,
because as soon as I hung up,
I threw the phone on the ground right next to the man’s head…

…quickly got dressed,
picked up my candy bag, notebook, and money,
and ran like I never did before.

I knew that if I stuck around any longer,
the police would arrive, and recognize me,
before shipping me off to the Devil himself (also know as Riley).
