Lying in its crib, the infant wails, kicks, and cries some more. It tries to reach out to its mother who lies on the large bed next to the crib. But there is nothing left other than a lifeless body whose left wrist is sliced open and dry blood staining the white sheets.

Death appears from the sunlight pouring into the room from the window and comes closer to the crib.

He pushes down his white hood and a skeletal head is revealed with two bright blue eyeballs in their sockets. He sighs closing his eyes and immediately, flesh and skin begin covering all of his body.

"You still have these more days to go, but I'll save you from your suffering little one," he says picking up the child.

Its cries die out all of a sudden as Death holds its soul in his arms. He brings forward a bottle and carefully places the test in its mouth. "You're such an adorable little thing. Humans grow more ridiculous by the day."

The baby start sucking desperately, its little hands moving around happily, just like its legs. Death smiles rocking the child while walking around the room.
Once its fed and full, a lively smile returns to its lips and the little hands reach out to caress Death's face.
"You'll be at peace where I'm taking you little Chloe. But don't tell them that I picked you up ahead of time or I'll be punished."

She giggled as if understanding his words.

"What a shame. You could have lived a wonderful life had your mother not been this selfish," he whispers clearing the hairs out of Chloe's face. "You would have grow to become a doctor, married a lawyer and divorce him after he cheats. But you'd have raised your three kids with all the love and care your mother didn't give you. But because of her selfish decision, the wheel of life has turned like it always does when kids die."

Chloe coos as if saying something and Death chuckles like they're having a conversation.

"Very well then. Let me take you to a place where you'll never go hungry nor feel lonely."
He walked up to the light again and vanished in it with little Chloe in his arms.
