(From here the story is going to be in Kaiyo's POV unless I say otherwise.)

As McGonagall lead us down the familiar hallway and into the Great Hall where the empty Hall was now filled with students I assume 12 through 17. In the front of the room was a stool with a traditional witch's hat sitting on top. 

"It's not real, the ceiling. It's just bewitched to look like the night sky. I read about it in Hogwarts: A History", Kaiyo could hear Hermione say to the girl next to her. Kaiyo was impressed by her knowledge, but her need to flaunt it made him disappointed as well. 

"Will you wait along here, please? Now, before we begin, Professor Dumbledore would like to say a few words", Mcgonagll says before Dumbledore stands up. 

"I have a few start-of-term notices I wish to announce. The first years please note that the dark forest is strictly forbidden to all students. Also, our caretaker, Mr. Filch", gestures to Flitch I assume over on the side of the room "has asked me to remind you that the 3rd-floor corridor on the right-hand side is out of bounds to everyone who does not wish to die a most painful death. Thank you". 

"When I call your name, you will come forth, I shall place the sorting hat on your head, and you will be sorted into your houses", Mcgonagall says before starting the ceremony. As people were sorted their uniforms changed to their respective house colors. After a long while, it was only me and Potter. 

"Harry Potter", the whole hall goes silent. Kaiyo could hear Harry whispering 'not Slytherin' repeatedly before the hat rang out. 

"better be... GRYFFINDOR!!", the Gryffindors' screams of excitement echoed through the halls. Kuro hissed at the noise. I pet his head before giving him a small treat Kuro nuzzling his head in my shoulder. 

"And now for our foreign exchange student. Kurayami Kaiyo", Mcgonagall said people looked at me surprised. I guess I was the first exchange student they'd ever seen. 

I walked over to the stool Kuro on my shoulder still. I knelt down and motioned at a spot on the ground Kuro jumped down mewing. I could hear the whispers around these people had no sense of quiet. People were questioning my name, my hair, and everything about me. 

I sat down the hat placed on my head. 

"You have intelligence, but you wouldn't fit in with Ravenclaw, you're brave, but lack courage, kind, and loyal, but not Hufflepuff. Better be... Slytherin!", the Slytherin table claps my uniform turning green in certain parts. Looking over at the table Snape looked proud? I couldn't say. Kneeling down Kuro ran up my arm back onto my shoulder mewing proudly. 

I walked over to Malfoy after he was waving me down. Sitting down in the empty spot on the bench. Dumbledore spoke some words before the food appeared and people started to eat.

"So you got Slytherin the best house", Malfoy says with pride. 

"Draco who's your friend there?", a girl with black hair asked leaning in to see who I was. "Oh, the pretty boy, nice to meet you I'm Pansy Parkington", She reached out to me shack my hand. I grabbed it after a moment I forget that British culture is much different from Japanese culture. 

"Kurayami, Kaiyo", I say shaking her hand. A tall boy our age with darker skin and shaved-down black hair. 

"Is your hair natural? I'm Blaise Zabini", he reached his arm out as well. I shook his hand repeating my own name. 

"My hair is natural its been white for as long as I can remember", I said grabbing a piece of my hair as if to examine it. 

"It's pretty", Malfoy said before turning away a pink tint on his cheeks. I could feel a bit of heat come up to my own cheeks. 

We started eating I had chicken and a few vegetables. Compared to the others my plate was much more empty. Parkinson looked over to my plate back to hers and back to mine again. 

"Why aren't you eating more?", Parkinson. 

"I'm not use to western food", I said simply eating my chicken passing some to Kuro who happily ate the offered food. That answer seemed to satisfy Parkinson as she turned back to her own food. After we all seemed to finish eating dinner the table's food changed from the savory dinner to sweet desserts. The other students were taking sweets off the platters onto their own plates. 

"Do you not like sweets?", Malfoy said seeing me shirk away from most sweet unsure.

"No I'm just not a fan of things that are too sweet", I say a hand coming up to fidget with my choker. 

"Try this", Mayfoy said reaching over the table to grab a a small plate with what looked like chocolate cake. "Its coffee cake not as sweet as chocolate". 

I took a bite. It was amazing! The flavor was sweet, but with a bitter taste that balanced the sweetness out. I kept eating the cake before hearing Malfoy next to me laughing. I tilted my head confused why he was laughing before Parkinson and Zabini laughed along with him. 

"Your so adorable!", Parkinson said Zabini nodding along agreeing with her. I looked at Malfoy he just looked back at me and nodded along with the two. I finished the slice of cake the platters and plates dissapearing. Two of the older students stood up and directed the rest to follow them. I stayed with Malfoy, Parkinson, and Zabini the three were talking about how they though the dorm would look like as we walked into the dungeon the torches lighting the way giving the brick wall a suspenseful theme. 

We stopped in front of a plain stone wall. The two older students stood in front of everyone. 

"This is the entrance to our common room to get in you have to say the password which is serpent", the boy says the wall moved making a opening into the common room. One by One the students started to walk in. I followed after everyone else had entered taking in the room. The common room was decorated with green and silver. Kuro seemed like the room if his mewing with any indication. The older students from before came inside and stood front and center the other students from older years leaving up the two spiral stair cases separating by gender. 

"Okay first years! Lights out at 10 P.M. No one is allowed to explore past lights out", The older female said before the older male student took up the rest. "The dorms are separated by gender if a boy tries to go up into the girls dormitory the stairs will turn into a slide and the same vice versa", he finishes and we were released to find our dorms. We headed up the stairs till we found a name plate with Malfoy's Zambini's, a boy we didn't know's name, and my own name. 

"I guess we'll be rooming together", Zambini said walking in first Kuro jumps off my shoulder following him. 

"Lets go", Malfoy said walking in I follow behind. Kuro was lying down on the bed in the middle right Zanbini seemed to be arguing with him. A boy we hadn't met was setting up his own bed snickering at the sight. 

"Oh come on I called this bed!"

"Mew"

"You can't just jump on a bed and claim it!"

"yeowl"

"Fine you win this one cat!", Zambini says going over to last bed on the right side and setting it up. 

"Guess you and me get the middles huh", Mayfloy said setting his own bed up Kuro mewing for me to get over. I start to set up my own thing keeping a certain few in my bag for secrecy namly my weapons. After getting my clothes and books in order I head to the bathroom connected to the dorm.

"Oh you first", I say seeing the other boy reach for the doorknob. He looks at me before opening the door. The boy had black-brown hair that was curly but not messy with brown eye. 

"Thanks, Theodore Notts", Notts said extending a hand to shake 

"Kaiyo, Kurayami", I say more accustomed to the British tradition of saying their first name before their last. 

I sat down on my bed taking off the outer robe and folding it up for tomorrow placing it on the trunk in front of my bed. Repeating the action with my tie and taking out a clean button up shirt. Notts came out of the bathroom and I went in brushing my teeth and taking a quick shower putting on fresh clothes. I normally slept in a button up shirt and basketball shorts. 

Coming out my hair was still wet and I walked over to my bed rubbing the towel into my wet hair since there wasn't any technology to blowdry my hair. Before long we all went to sleep Kuro snuggling up next to my chest. Closing my eyes waiting for the the morning to come.
