If I Have it in Me
The chirping birds awake me,
I wonder what they're singing about.
The sun shines in a world,
Filled with people doing this and that.
I lie in bed thinking and realising,
That the world will keep moving.
And I'll always want it to stop
Just to sit for a moment and think.
And wondering if their world is similar to mine,
Wondering where they're flying off to,
Which parts of the world their eyes had wondered,
Which parts of the sky their wings had witnessed,
The parts of the Earth their feet had stepped on,
But the world will keep moving.
And I'll have to move too
And the birds will eventually stop singing
Until they come back again, the day after that.
Maybe.
If I have it in me to live another day.
