To make a wish on a shooting star
You must first believe it can come true

~<•>~

I sighed as I packed for this weekend getaway. I'll be seeing most of these people in person for the first time. Hell, a couple of my friends are even visiting from the other side of the world for this, that's how big this is!

It isn't supposed to be too cold this weekend, so I decided to leave my hoodies. And even if the temperature drops, one of them is bound to have brought at least one hoodie for me to borrow.

I just hope that they wear my size or larger.

Most likely larger. I'm not exactly that big, width wise.

Okay, that sounds wrong.

Really wrong.

I mean I'm not that bulky. I'm nearly all skin and bone, really.

Partly because I don't eat some days.

And partly because of genetics.

I remembered to pack some spare clothes, snacks, water and soda bottles, and some other things.

We're somewhat camping. And by somewhat, I mean we're gonna hang out by some abandoned shed or whatever it is, but still sleep in tents and such.

My phone started vibrating, signaling that someone was calling me. After checking the caller ID, I accepted the call.

"Hey, you ready?"

I nod before realizing he couldn't see me. "Uh, just about, yeah."

"You made sure to bring snacks, right?"

"Oh my god, yes, you glutton."

"Hey, that's mean! If you keep talking like that, I might not come!"

"Aw, come on, I promise I'll stop!" I whined, checking my bag to make sure I grabbed everything.

"You better!"

I laughed. "Is George really coming? It's kinda weird he'd fly all the way from England to America."

"Dream said he is, but I don't know. I hope he is, It'd be boring otherwise."

"Hey, what's that supposed to mean?"

"Nothing. Anyways, I gotta go, I'm about to get on the road."

I huffed, pouting. "Fine. I'm about to as well, I guess."

"Bye!" He said in a sing-song sort of tone.

"Bye, you dumbass."

"Language!"

I smiled. "Bye!" I said in the same tone he did.

I heard him huff. "Bye, you muffin head."

I laughed as I hung up.

This'll be fun.

I was one of the last ones to arrive at our rendezvous spot, aside from Bad.

I saw Vincent (a6d), George (GeorgeNotFound), who was talking to who I presume was Clay (Dream).

I walked towards Vincent, who was busy playing some game on his phone. I tapped his shoulder to get his attention.

"Oh, hey Zak." He said, turning off his phone.

"Is anyone else coming?" I asked, noticing how little people were currently here.

Vincent shook his head. "No one aside from Bad. Speaking of which, where is he?" He asked, looking around.

"I don't know, but I imagine he'll get here before it gets too dark," I said, noticing how the sun will be setting within an hour.

Vincent nodded as he went back to his phone. I sighed as I walked over to the campfire setup, setting up my tent before I forget.

As the sun started setting, a final car parked nearby. A man who I assume was Bad (Darryl) got out of the car, grabbing his bag out of the backseat.

"Alright, That should be everyone," Clay announced, starting on the fire. "Bad, once you get yourself situated, you can go enjoy yourself. I don't care what anyone does, as long as they don't start doing anything....sexual....in eye or earshot of anyone else. You can go fuck-"

"Language." Bad interrupted him.

Clay gave Bad a dirty look before continuing. "You can go fuck in the woods for all I care, just not close enough for anyone to see. For the love  of God, no one, and I mean no one wants to see any of that."

"It sounds like he's referring to two of us specifically." I heard Vincent mutter. "Even though no one here has that kind of relationship with anyone."

"I know right?" I muttered back. "And even then, the especially horny one isn't here, and the two of us that constantly make those kind of jokes are him and George."

Vincent nodded before running off to help Clay with the fire. I sigh before walking towards the shed.

It certainly didn't look very kept up, but it didn't look like it was falling apart either. I look inside to find nothing but a ladder. I grabbed it, disturbing a spider in the middle of his meal, and placed it on the side of the shed outside. After making sure that the ladder wouldn't collapse with me on it, I climbed it, getting on the flat roof.

The roof wasn't anything to write home about. It was very dusty with some leaves and those other tree things on it, but aside from that, it looked mostly undisturbed.

I sit down on the edge of the roof, looking at my friends in the near distance.

I must've spaced out because the next thing I hear is the ladder hitting against the shed as someone climbs up. That someone just happens to Bad.

Er, I guess I should refer to him as Darryl, since we're in person, and not on screen.

"Hey." I greeted him as he sat next to me. "What's up?"

Ba-Darryl shrugged, looking at the now black sky. "You seemed lonely."

I shrugged. "Eh, not really. Though, I don't hate the company."

He nodded, never glancing my way. I looked up at the sea of stars above us, the tiny white dots complimenting the dark background and grey moon.

It was stunning.

It's hard to see the stars this clearly in the city. Depending on the city, it might even be near impossible to see them.

But in the middle of nowhere, they shine brighter than any city.

I wish I could see the sky like this forever.

"The stars are so beautiful," I muttered, refusing to look down.

"They really are," Darryl replied in a barely audible whisper, almost as if he'll disturb the stars above.

I don't know how much time passed. Seconds? Minutes? Hours?

I honestly couldn't care less.

I was at peace for once. Away from the city. Away from YouTube. Away from anything I was or am.

I was here, in the middle of nowhere.

Watching the stars.

With my best friend right beside me.

And honestly?

I couldn't ask for anything more.

1088 words

This is really pretty, and I'm honestly shocked I actually wrote this.

Okay, so for anyone confused, this is gonna be a short Skephalo fic (with some DreamNotFound bc those are my drugs). I'm in a phase rn, shut up.

But this isn't gonna be too long, maybe less than 15 chapters. I just had this idea that's too long for a one-shot, but too short to be too long of a book. Also, it's only gonna take place throughout the weekend.

And anything that happens in the middle of nowhere, stays in the middle of nowhere ;)

Also, I don't know where any of them live, other than Skeppy, Dream, and George (and I only really know their countries for sure), but I assume that Bad also lives in the states, but I'm not 100% sure. Also, idk where a6d lives, so shush.

God, I haven't written a YouTuber fanfic since I was.....14? That's not too long ago, but it also kinda is?

This is also the first time in a couple of years where I am so obsessed with a ship (or YouTuber in general) that I'm reading/writing fanfiction for, holy shit.

Also, you might've noticed that I didn't describe any of them. Well, I tried to find what Bad looked like (mostly bc I was making fanart earlier), and every picture of him looks different, and I was just confused. Plus, I don't even know what Dream looks like, other than some clues I've read, so yeah. ;-;

This book is gonna have some angst, but it's mostly gonna be fluffy and Zak and Darryl just being wholesome together.
