Abigail sat in her sister's room, talking about the wedding that was set to take place tomorrow. No matter how hard she tried to get out of it, it seemed to be no use. So she figured she'd do the next best thing, but she didn't know if it was a good idea. She had her bag packed for her to leave later tonight while everyone was sleeping.

"You should be happy, you're getting married tomorrow."

"I'm estastic, even though it won't be happening." She said whispering the last part.

She ran her fingers through her newly dyed hair and made her way towards the mirror, that sat on top of the dresser. She sighed as her sister began to put on her makeup for the rehearsal party that was taking place later on tonight. She hated the way the makeup felt on her face and wished she didn't have to wear it at all, but she needed to look presentable.

She groaned as her sister applied her eyeliner, "Ow, try not to press down so hard."

"Oh, hush up and let me finish." Loralie said, swatting her sister's hand away.

"So I actually have to go through with this?" She questioned.

"Yes, he might grow on you." Loralie said standing in front of her sister.

"Never going to happen."

"What ever you say" She said finishing the last of her sister's make-up. "...and done." She continued with a smile on her face.

"I hate wearing makeup." Abigail said looking at herself in the mirror.

"You look beautiful."

She groaned and stood up, "I look like a porcelain doll."

"You look fine, now go and get dressed. Everyone should be arriving soon." Loralie said slightly pushing her towards the bathroom.

She looked at herself once more in the mirror and she felt somewhat proud of her sister's job doing her make-up. She pulled off her pajamas and slipped on the yellow party dress her sister had set out for her. She pushed her blonde hair behind her ear, admiring how she looked in the knee length dress. She moved her hair out of the way and walked backwards out of the bathroom, so that her sister could zip up her dress. She fixed her hair as her mother walked through the door, with tears in her eyes.

"Awe don't you look lovely." Her mother said hugging her.

"Thank you mother."

She sighed, she wished she didn't have to leave in order to not marry Michael but her mother wouldn't allow it. She felt a tear slide down her face as she thought about how much she was going to miss her family. Though they had their ups and downs, they were the people who were always there for her when she needed them. She thought about telling her sister about her plan to get out of here, but she would have ended up telling everyone. Loralie and Abigail have always been close every since they were younger, but Loralie didn't know the first thing when it came to keeping a secret.

"Don't cry, we don't want your makeup to run." Her mother said carefully wiping Abigail's cheek.

She slightly nodded and left to join the rest of her family in the grand ballroom. As soon as she entered the room, she could smell the food her mother had catered as the sound of children laughing. She was glad that not many people had showed up yet, it was mostly just her family and some close friends. She let out a breath that she hadn't realized she had been holding and walked over to her nieces and nephews.

"Auntie, you look pretty." Mary said as Abigail hugged her.

"Not as pretty as you and Riley." She said gently poking them both on the nose.

"Hey, what about us." Her brother's said in unison.

She turned towards them and smiled, "You two look very handsome and you too Clayton." Who had run off towards the table of food.

The other children followed behind their cousin and Abigail was left on her own. She decided to go and greet the other guests that had arrived, shortly after she had. She plastered on a fake smile as she saw that the Wayland family had arrived. She tried to walk the other way, towards Jocelyn and Lucian but was stopped by her mother and father. Her father placed a firm hand on her shoulder and they walked towards the Waylands.

"Hello Mr. and Mrs. Wayland, how nice it is to see you again." Abigail said, trying to get away as soon as possible.

"You too Abigail." The couple chorused.

"Michael, why don't you and Abigail go and get something to eat, there's plenty of food." Mr. Wayland said.

"But I'm not hungry."

"Oh, just come on." He said grabbing her hand and walking away from their parents.

As soon as their parents were out of their sight, Michael quickly let go of her hand. She let out a sigh of relief, and rubbed her palm know the him of her dress.

"Look, I don't like this anymore than you do but just go along with it. Tomorrow it'll all be over and they be out of our hairs." Michael said as he poured her something to drink.

"I thought you'd be thrilled about this marriage." She said and he shook his head.

"Not in the least." He said handing her a glass.

She smiled, "Thank you."

"Can we take a walk?" He asked holding out his arm.

She took a sip of her drink and shrugged before grabbing should of his arm. As the walked past her sister, Loralie gave her a reassuring thumbs up and Abigail shook her head slightly laughing. As the two of them walked out of the back door and onto the soft grass, she reached down and pulled off her shoes.

“What are you doing?” Michael asked as she left go of his arm.

“Getting comfortable, if you want to walk and talk, I'm not going to walk around in those heels.” She said setting them on the stone staircase.

She loved the feeling of the grass in between her toes, as they walked along the garden. She took a deep breath, inhaling the warm evening breeze that flew through her hair. Looking around she began to notice the small things that she hadn't noticed before. The way the winds sounded as it blew threw the leaves on the trees or the slightest crunching sound of the grass as they stepped on it.

She smiled and turned towards him, “It's beautiful, isn't it?”

“It really is.” He replied in agreement.

The two of them talked for hours upon hours about how they wanted their futures to go. She even told Michael about her plan and to her surprise he wasn't upset at all. Though he would have to endure his parents, he wanted her to be happy. She convinced him to get her secret and told him that she would inform him, when she was safe.

Once the rehearsal was over, she said goodbye to all her guests while the Waylands stayed behind. They were the last ones to leave, making sure that the two of them were actually getting along.

“Be careful.” Michael whispered in her ear as they hugged.

“Thank you.” She whispered before kissing him on the cheek.

She playfully rolled her eyes as she heard her sister squeal and her parents awe at their actions. Once everything was over and cleaned up, Abigail retreated to her bedroom for the night.
