His Eyes Met Mine

Here's the third update peeps. I hope you all like it:)

TAEHYUNG POV

I sat down at one end of Jimin's sky blue couch, feeling a little jittery. Yoongi sat a few inches away, looking around the room. It was very well designed, truth be told. There was a lovely white and blue theme going on, with the sky blue sofa, white side-tables, and blue drapes on the window.  There were also a few trophies and medals, placed on a white vertical rack at one corner of the room.

I heard Jimin call out to his roommate. Hmmm, Jungkook is such a pretty name. Making nothing more of that, I began munching on the chips Jimin kept before us and tried rehearsing my keyboard piece in my head so that I didn't mess up in front of Yoongi Hyung...I mean Yoongi. However, all the mental rehearsing immediately came to an end when the said roommate, Jungkook, entered the living room.

It was like someone punched me real hard, knocking the breath out of my lungs but in the most pleasant way possible. The angel, I mean Jungkook, was wearing the most normal sweatpants and t-shirt, but he looked like a Greek God who had decided to grace a human being with their presence.

The Greek God, I mean Jungkook looked at us and bowed down, "Hi, I'm Jeon Jungkook, Jimin's roommate." Even his voice was so adorable. I just wanted to go up to him and squish his cheeks and also put my tongue down his throat at the same time. I couldn't comprehend all these feelings I was experiencing, especially towards a stranger.

I didn't even know how I got there but somehow, I was standing right in front of the man, extending my hand and introducing myself. "Hi, I'm Taehyung. It's great to meet you."

He looked at my hand oddly for a second before shrugging it off and grasping my hand in his, shaking it firmly. "Same here," he replied, a tiny smile on his face as he gazed at me.

Once Yoongi and Jungkook were acquainted with one another, Jimin explained our reason for being there. "So, Taehyung has an assignment due tomorrow. He has to compose a keyboard piece and he wanted Yoongi to listen to it because--"

"Because he plays the keys very well. I know Jimin, you've told me this like forty-three times already. He never stops talking about you Yoongi Hyung," Jungkook said, interrupting Jimin.

"Oh really, that's good to know. Also please just call me Yoongi," he said with a smirk directed at Jimin.

Jimin dug his face into his two hands to hide his embarrassment, giving his coldest glare to Jungkook. He ran over to Jungkook and messed up his hair, his cheeks tomato red. Jungkook just laughed an angel's laugh and dodged Jimin.

I shook myself out of my daze and decided to speak up, "Ummm, so Jungkook, we need your keyboard so I can play Yoongi my piece." I think I was blushing because my cheeks felt very warm.

When Jungkook's warm, coffee brown eyes met mine, I felt like my soul just melted away, or did the Harlem shake. His gaze was so warm and inviting. I just wanted to wrap myself up in the brown of his eyes and make a home there. God, I'm so cringe. "Sure, I'll bring it right out," he said, pulling up his sleeves and giving me a slight peek of the beautiful, prominent veins on his forearm.

Yoongi and Jimin conversed with each other as Jungkook fetched his keyboard. It was obvious that they both were fond of each other. I felt like a third wheel in that room, even though I was not very close to either of them and hoped Jungkook would be back quickly.

Soon enough, he came out carrying his keyboard and I noticed how muscled up his arms were. He had his sleeves pulled up, muscles flexing as he carried the keyboard with just one hand, his veins straining against the skin of his forearm. I felt some drool collect in my mouth which I immediately swallowed to avoid looking like an idiot. I also tried tearing my gaze away from his muscled arms but against my better judgement, my eyes ogled him. I just hoped that he didn't notice me being a complete creep.

"Here you go Taehyung Hyung, the floor is all yours," he said with the sweetest smile plastered on his face. All of a sudden, I remembered exactly why I was here and a rush of nerves hit me. Now there was the added pressure to impress Jungkook with my composition as well and I could feel my heart pound faster by the minute, as I approached the keyboard. Sucking in a deep breath, I took one look at Yoongi who nodded slightly and began playing.

I began hesitantly at first, my fingers fumbling a little because of the pressure of three sets of eyes on me but as the song progressed, I got into the feel and closed my eyes as my fingers naturally moved of their own accord. I inserted as many emotions as I could while I played the piece, my fingers moving at a quick pace as my hair fell over my eyes. However, none of it mattered at that time. All that mattered was my piece and me playing it to perfection. Soon, my piece came to an end and I reduced the tempo till it came to a complete halt. Absorbing everything I had just played, I slowly opened my eyes to see Yoongi smiling an extremely wide smile at me. Jimin had almost teared up and Jungkook's eyes were wide open. Immediately, Jimin and Jungkook began to cheer but my eyes were on Yoongi, waiting for him to say something.

"Taehyung, your piece was spectacular. I'm not lying, it was very beautiful and to imagine you're just a first year. Just one thing, always be confident about your piece. I could feel like you were hesitant in the beginning but believe me, it is a very beautiful piece and you should be proud of it," Yoongi said, his eyes somber and serious but also displaying a hint of awe and pride.

"Thank you Yoongi. I will be more confident tomorrow. I hope I do well," I said, now feeling shy because everyone's eyes were on me.

Soon after that was out of the way, Jimin urged Yoongi to play us something and we all listened to him like he was some kind of Mozart Santa Claus and we were his elves. There was just something about the way he played his piece, all his emotions tumbling out. The entire piece was so raw, filled with so much sorrow and pain that we couldn't help but tear up. The entire time he was playing, I could only hope that someday I would be as brilliant as him. He was a wonderful player, much better than the professors who taught us music too. Even before he could complete his piece, Jimin launched himself at Yoongi, hugging him tight like there was no tomorrow. I could see the surprise on Yoongi's face melt into fondness as he hugged Jimin back, cradling the back of his head against his shoulder.

Jungkook nudged me lightly and gestured towards the balcony so I followed him, my body seizing up with anticipation. He shut the door behind us while I enjoyed the cool wind hitting my face. My eyes naturally closed as the light wind swept through my hair, blowing tendrils of it across my forehead, slightly ticklish.

I felt Jungkook move into the space next to me as our arms brushed lightly, sending tingles of fire down my skin. I opened my eyes to look at him and he was staring ahead, looking at the city lights burning against the ebony sky.

"There's something really beautiful about Seoul in the night, isn't there?" he questioned, his tone almost a whisper.

"Yes, there really is," I whispered back, gazing at the reddish and bluish dots that seemed to twinkle all across the city, a galaxy of its own. Jungkook turned to look at me, my head instinctively turning towards him as well.

"Jimin's mother was an extremely talented pianist. Out of this world, as he tells me. But, she died when he was pretty young, in a car accident. He's always had an adoration for the keyboard and piano since then," he said, looking back ahead.

"And you brought me out here to give them a few minutes alone because he was reminded of his mum?" I questioned, so deeply moved for some reason. I couldn't even comprehend how strong Jimin was.

"Yes, precisely," Jungkook answered.

"That's really sweet, looking out for him like that," I said, a genuine smile making its way onto my face. He smiled back, looking ahead once again.

It felt like his mood had dropped a bit after seeing Jimin this desolate, so I decided to lighten the atmosphere. "Hey, can I ask you something?" He turned towards me, nodding. "Are you French?" I asked. He looked at me like I just grew three pairs of eyes, his eyebrows raised in puzzlement.

"Because Eiffel for you," I completed, a light chuckle escaping my lips. Jungkook just looked at me for a few seconds and I began to wonder if I messed up. Eventually, the corner of his lips turned up ever so slightly, before he let out a chuckle himself, shaking his head at me.

"Really Taehyung, is that the best you can do?" he challenged, his voice deep and smooth. I tried to focus on the words he said instead of pondering over how beautiful my name sounded on his lips.

"I've got another one. Do you like Star Wars?" I questioned and he nodded intensely. "Because Yoda only one for me," I finished, watching him throw his head back slightly as he laughed.

"Okay, I've got one for you," he said, slightly excited. "Do you believe in love at first sight or should I pass by again?" he said, his eyes crinkling up as he waited for my response. I sniggered a little before deciding I had to step it up.

"Well, here I am, what are your two other wishes?" I said, his face pinching up in distaste.

"Someone actually used that on me once. I sent her packing before she could even tell me her name," he said, shaking his head in frustration. I laughed at that, imagining the scene play out.

"I've got another one," he said, his eyes twinkling like the city lights. I smiled, nodding for him to continue. "Feel my shirt. You know what that is?" he asked and I decided to play it up. I ran my finger across his chest, feeling the material of his shirt lightly scrape against my fingertip. It almost felt like he shivered under my touch but that could be because of the wind. I retracted my hand, waiting for him to continue.

"That's boyfriend material," he said, his voice a little hoarse. I smiled at him like an idiot, all my teeth on display which he returned, a full-blown grin on his face. "I actually liked that one," I said and he nodded in affirmation. The conversation trailed off after that, leaving us in pleasant silence, the kind of silence I enjoyed.

"Should we go back inside?" he asked after a few minutes, tilting his head as he waited for my response. Unwillingly, I nodded, dejected that our little bubble of fun burst this soon. He led me back to the living room where Jimin was cuddled up to Yoongi, laying his head on Yoongi's shoulder. He settled on the sofa across from me and began talking with Yoongi, meeting my eyes now and then.

We all chatted with each other for another hour, not wanting to end our fun conversation. Jungkook even acted out a conversation between Donald Trump and Trevor Noah which was so hilarious that I snorted some water out of my nose, leading them all to crack up even more.

One thing I realized over the night was that it would be hilarious if Jungkook had a talk show of his own, like Ellen or Jimmy Fallon. Another thing I realized was that I was crushing on him real hard and I had absolutely no control over it.
