Krel's PoV

Aja kicked open the front door, yelling at the top of her lungs " VARVATOS! GUESS WHAT KREL DID TODAY!!!!"

Varvatos jumped out of his chair as she screamed at him. "Aja! What is the meaning of your loud words!?"

Aja stood in the doorway, forcing me to stay outside. "The loud words are meant to convey that what I have to say is important. I hear the humans at school doing it to their superiors."

"So, what is this that is so important that Varvatos Vex is drawn away from his televised entertainment?" Vex asked, glancing around the room as if a bounty hunter had sneaked in and was lying in wait.

"Guess what Krel did today!" Aja said, moving aside so that I could come inside. She closed the door after me.

"What did the King-in-waiting do today?" Vex repeated, looking at me "Did he vanquish his enemies? Did he capture a bounty hunter of the brotherhood? For Varvatos to torture? Glorious!" he laughed maniacally

"No, no, no, Varvatos." I said, holding up my, well, now 4 hands as the transduction effect wore off. "I made a friend!" My nerves were still tingling from the excitement. 

"A friend? Even more glorious!" Vex cried happily

"She's coming over tomorrow. To show me the town." I grinned. My phone buzzed, and I checked it. 

"Ooh, is that her?" asked Aja, leaning forward to look at my texts.

"Her? Varvatos did not know that this new acquaintance was a female. That changes things."

"Like what?" I asked "All she sent me was a time for tomorrow." I looked down at the phone screen, typing "Ok, see...you...then...smiley face!"

"Varvatos knows that females are untrustworthy. This female could be a seductress working for the Zerons." He shook his head. "Varvatos denies you permission to go on this outing with your new 'friend'."

I frowned "I do not need your permission to go out with someone, commander."

"The King and Queen put me in charge of both yours and the Queen-in-waiting's safety. Varvatos cannot allow you to put your life in danger for a female."

She's my friend, Vex!" I cried. "My parents are in stasis, I'm on a dump heap that has the most primitive of technology, not to mention that they are barely- formed amoebas that think they are the center of the universe, and I am all alone at school! Aja has friends to go out with and she has that blond-haired oaf, Steve."

"That is different. Steve is far too stupid to be a bounty hunter." Vex said, but his face was beginning to show sympathy. 

"Please, Varvatos. I don't want to be all alone here. Even Luug doesn't want to be with me when Aja isn't around anymore." I sighed.

"Do not be silly, little brother." Aja said, picking up Luug "Luug loves you." She put him in my arms, and he immediately jumped out and ran back to her.

"See? Please, Varvatos," I begged "Please, just meet her. I promise that I will be as careful as I can, just meet her. Please?" I made my best dog-eyes that I saw Mary do one day.

Vex sighed "Fine. Varvatos will meet this girl tomorrow, and then he will decide."

I jumped happily "Thanks, Commander! You are the best!" And with that, I ran back to my room, happy as a shelled sea animal.
