The Music Store
Hi. I'm Alex Pendin. I play bass in a band called One True Lies. In this chapter, I take the lead singer of out band - Georgia, nickname Scarlett - out to the mall to get some gig supplies.
"Hey Alex! Are you ready yet?" Scarlett's voice rang through the house from downstairs.
I was upstairs in ny room fixing my black, straightened hair.
I put my fringe over my left eye and picked up my all black converse and slipped them on over my Superman socks.
Today I was wearing my favorite All Time Low shirt, black skinny jeans, and my black and white stripped hoody that had cat ears on the hood.
I ran downstairs and glanced over in Scarlett's direction.
She was wearing an Avenged Sevenfold tee with black skinny jeans and black leather knee high boots.
She sighed and rolled her eyes. "Are you done yet?"
Scarlett crossed her arms over her chest and put her weight onto her left leg.
I chuckled and nodded.
"Good! Let's go! We have shit to do!" She flailed her arms and turned towards the door.
I grabbed my wallet and headed out to the taxi that had been waiting for us for about 5 minutes.
"Where to folks?" The middle-aged, overweight, male taxi driver asked us.
"Hollywood and Highland please." Scarlett replied, strapping herself in.
I did the same and we set off.
It was only about 15 minutes in the taxi, we paid the guy and entered the mall.
"To the music store!" Scarlett raised her hand up in the air and grinned excitedly.
She the grabbed my hand and ran all the way to the music store.
Scarlett opened the door and the bell jangled as the door hit it.
"Hey guys, how's it goin'?" My uncle asked.
My uncle was the owner of the music store so we always got discounts on our music equipment.
"Hi uncle, we need some gigging equipment." I said as the jingle of the bell at the door went yet again.
I didn't bother to look at who it was though, I was never a very nosey person.
My uncle nodded and went out back to see what he had.
I went over to look at some new bass guitars my uncle had had customized.
"Alex... Alex..." I heard Scarlett's whispers echo in my ear.
But I was still busy looking at the guitars.
"Psst! Alex!" Scarlett whisper-shouted.
I didn't take my eyes off of the instruments, but replied still.
"What?" I whispered back.
"Look at this." She told me, motioning with her hand.
I sighed and pinched the bridge of my nose.
'Can't I have five minutes to look at the bass guitars?' I thought.
I walked over to where she was standing.
She was looking at microphones.
I spotted the one she was frantically pointing to.
"Look, look, look, look, look!" She panted excitedly.
I looked at the shiny, red miscrophone.
"That's pretty cool." I nodded as a sign that I approved of her choice.
"I must have it!" She gasped.
I only shook my head and chuckled, walking back to the bass guitars.
About 5 minutes past before my uncle came back.
"Have a look at these guys." He said to me and Scarlett.
We walked over to where he was stood, behind the counter at the end of the store.
He was holding up leads and strings.
"These are the same leads and strings as I supply your favorite bands with." He whispered.
We looked at him with wide eyes.
"Really?" I breathed.
He nodded.
He handed them to me and I thanked him.
"Have them. On the house." He grinned.
Scarlett and I both looked at him with wide eyes.
"We can't take these!" I protested. "Really uncle, I'd gladly pay for them!"
He chuckled.
"You're a good kid, Alex. So I'm giving you these for free." He replied.
I sighed and took them back.
"If it makes you feel any better, you can pay me back when you become rich and famous." My uncle joked.
I let out a small laugh and so did Scarlett.
"Thank you." I smiled.
"That's ok. Now what else do you need?" He asked.
We told him what we needed and left with what we could carry.
Strings, guitar jacks, 50 plectrums, the microphone Scar had spotted, the lead for that, 30 drumsticks, made especially for our drummer, Joe. The sticks had out band logo on them. As did the plectrums.
We left what we couldn't carry. The stage amps would be delivered straight to the venues when we started the tour.
We had been banned from the internet because of the advertisments. We weren't allowed to know who we were going on tour with.
Which really sucked.
A/N: So that's the firsy chapter done. What did everyone think? Who's the better writer? Me... Or Scarlett?
