In which they return return to the 'sub hub' , the aliens return to causing trouble, and the coats return from my oneshot.

Rumours, thought Jack, really were strange things.
They had started that morning, when students had come into school to find one of the classrooms locked with the word 'private' written on paper and taped to the door.
Someone had knocked and looked surprised as Ianto opened the door in his suit, coffee cup in hand, with a polite "can I help you?".
He received no answer as they turned tail and speedwalked away, whispering between them about 'strangers' 'weirdos' and 'bloody fit guys who shouldnt naturally look that good in pink'.

The second sighting, and addition to the rumour mill, was when Tosh and Gwen crossed to the office/rec room in search of food, and exited with the team's second day of pot noodle lunch.

The third sighting, and the biggest, came after getting an alert, when they all rushed out to the Suv, the team wearing their coats and the girls following behind,trying to match their confident strides, and their laid back manner. They all piled into the SUV, and drove off quickly, arriving at the shop where it had happened within ten minutes.
Beth, Lia and Ellie were sent to speak to the witnesses, while Tosh and Ianto retreated to the SUV to scan for it. Jack, Gwen, and a complaining Owen, started to run to the last place disruption happened.

"So, What did you see?" Beth started
"Not much. It was......big...."
"Humanoid?"
"Not really"
"Colour?"
"I'm not sure"
Ellie had more luck with her questioning, getting a slight idea, and Lia got told a lot, but wasn't sure how much of the five year old's story was true.

Beep. Beep. Beep.
Jack answered his comms.
"Jack, whatever they are, they're gone"
He sighed, before rounding the others up and heading back to the SUV.
They didn't have much, except for the witnesses descriptions and a strange specimen of slime that Owen couldn't wait to experiment on.
Nonetheless, they were remarkably cheerful as they drove home, despite the fact that it was Jack's go to choose the music, and other than cheesy Disney movies songs, his taste seemed stuck in the past,  as if he had picked up a few favorite songs each year.
They weren't exactly surprised to see students' faces pressed against the window as they arrived, locked the SUV, and headed back to the Sub Hub to write up their evidence (and for Owen to investigate the slime).

After a few hours, including where, when sitting writing in the notebook with Beth and Ellie, Lia got her first taste of coffee.
Ianto had brought in a large tray of coffees, seemingly knowing just by looking at them, what type to get.
Ellie had a caramel frappuchino, Beth, who had never liked coffee, enjoyed a gingerbread latte, and Lia got her first taste in a strong black coffee.
"It's official" Beth spoke up. "You are magic with coffee"
Jack nodded in agreement, as Owen smiled uncharacteristically at his caffeine fix.
They stayed after school hours, although at one point Ianto and Jack drove off to get Chinese from the shop ten minutes away.

When they got back, they ate in the office-come-rec-room, and used another half hour of racking their brains as to what it could be, before walking to the hotel at 8:00.
They went straight to their individual rooms and Beth, Ellie and Lia watched a few more doctor who episodes, before going to bed.

In the morning, after getting dressed, Beth in her usual ripped jeans and fandom top, Lia in a checked shirt and jeans, and Ellie in leggings and a Taylor Swift hoodie, they headed out, only to see a note on Jack and Ianto's door.
'Gone to the sub hub' it read in Ianto's neat handwriting.
Tosh poked her head out the door at the same time, and after waking Gwen and knocking loudly on the door for Owen, they all headed out, breakfast bars in hand, to the sub hub.
When they got there, Gwen and Owen went in first, and after a yelp from Gwen and a groan from Owen, they started forwards, worried, only to be held back by Tosh. Sure enough, when about a minute later, Ianto poked his head round the door to say they could come in now, he was bright red, hair messy, and pulling his suit jacket on over a hurriedly tucked in shirt.
They walked in, to see Gwen a brighter red than Ianto, and Owen complaining to Jack, who looked laid back and uncaring with his shirt undone, about how he could at least warn them.
Beth and Lia looked at eachother, trying not to laugh or fangirl, unsure which would come first, but when Ellie whispered to them 'OTP', they realized. Both at the same time.
Ianto blushed again, and excused himself to make a round of coffee, coming back in a lot more composed, with his hair neatened and his shirt tucked in, although still slightly crumpled.
Jack, on the other hand, didn't seem the least bit put out, except for the fact that they'd been interrupted.
By the time they had all composed themselves, they restarted working.
"So we know it's a shapeshifter"
"A bit like Zygons or Slitheen"
"It could be Zygons" Beth suggested. "That's not necessarily their true form"
"Good point" Tosh glanced at the CCTV again.
"Tosh, keep an eye out for them. And start to research Zygons. Gwen, help her. Owen, investigate the slime some more, Ianto, girls, you're with me. Me and Yan are gonna teach you to use weapons."
