Weird Dreams And Odd People
Prologue
Wandering aimlessly through fog so deep she might never be able so see anything, a young girl named Mira looks around. She feels like she's missing someone or something important in her life. She then feels herself falling. Falling, then hitting the ground with too much force.
"Aak!" Mira looks around and sighs with relief, possibly the first time she's ever been relieved to see her bland white torture room. "It was a dream," she sighs. And she had fallen off of her loft bed. "That explains the falling."
"Get your breakfast!" a voice yells. A security guard has a plate of food in his hands. As usual, it looks disgusting, but she still takes it.
"Thanks." She mutters.
The guard nods and walks away.
While eating, she thinks about what's been happening. Ever since she was eight, she'd been living in this prison, basically. It didn't help the fact that the building is in the middle of the desert. When she was little, she used to be let outside for a while once every week, but ever since she tried to escape when she turned 11, she isn't trusted outside, or anywhere outside, for that matter. So no windows in her room. All that's in her room are her bed, a ceiling fan, and a tennis ball.
Of course she gets some view of the outside world from the bars enclosing her. Where she was, it was separated from the rest of the building. It's weird, but it can be useful.
Mira finishes her breakfast and gets to work on what she does every day. She pushes her bed aside a bit to reveal a concrete wall that's chipped away and slowly turning to rubble. She picks up the tennis ball and throws it at the small crevice in the middle of the wall. Over and over again she does this, chipping away slowly. She stops for lunch but soon gets back to this interesting task. She just sits here. All day.
Until, "LIGHTS OUT!"
Mira climbs up into her bed and quickly falls asleep to fall into another peculiar dream.
Once again, Mira finds herself in a maze of fog. But this time, when she falls, she lands on something spinning. She doesn't understand it. But then she sees a silhouette in the fog. She jumps off of whatever's spinning and runs to the silhouette. She then hears a voice, saying, "It happened. The little Isle of the east, known as Mystic Isle got flooded. Completely wiped out. Gone. But five chosen ones, with the help of their Soul Partners, can revive it. You must find those five and recreate Mystic Isle. I might have gone, but my family doesn't deserve to. Please help them. Please... She falls into a huge abyss, but this time gets caught.
A familiar voice wakes her up. "Should I wake her up?"
And then a raspy voice. "Absolutely not! Haven't you heard about what Master Phantom Spirit did to the last one who disturbed someone when they were bringing them home?"
"Valerie, those are all just urban legends that Natalie tells you. You're too gullible."
"AM NOT!!!!" The raspy voice tries not to yell.
I look up to see a boy with navy blue hair hanging in his face, hiding serious dark blue eyes.
He looks down at me and smiles. "So you're awake. I'm sorry, did our arguing wake you up?" He asks with concern in his eyes.
She smile back. "No, I-I just ha- had a bad dream." She stutters.
"Are you sure that's it?" He asks.
Mira nods, then just realizes that this guy is holding her and walking out of her room. "But, um, where are you taking me?" She squeaks.
"A better place than this dump. That's all you need to know," He says as he starts wading through snow. "So you're Mira, right?"
"Yup."
"Nice to meet you, Mira. I'm Blu."
"Blu?"
Blu nods but grins. "Ya, not much of a name. I know. But still. You shouldn't question it, because I could leave you in that torture chamber instead of trudging through the snow while carrying you to get you to safety." He shrugs.
Mira giggles. "You know I can walk, right?"
He just nods.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
"We're here." Blu says, shivering.
"First, take my blanket. I can feel that you're cold. And second," Mira says while draping her blanket she had snagged earlier on Blu's shoulders," Where are we?"
"We're going underwater, that's where we are." Valerie the Floatzel responds. Mira had gotten to know Valerie as they walked.
"Here. You ride Val and try to hold your breath. We'll be underwater for about 5 minutes." Blu says, leaning down and carefully letting Mira climb onto the back of the awaiting Floatzel. He then holds up a Pokeball and sends out another Floatzel. "Let's go!" A/N: I KNOW IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO HOLD YOUR BREATH THAT LONG. But this takes place in the Pokemon world, where there is no logic at all. So you have no right to judge me.
The two Floatzels dive underwater into the freezing water underneath the icy top layer of the glimmering lake. Passing multiple fish no one could name and chunks of stray ice, Blu looks at Mira. She's struggling to hold her breath but manages to look back at Blu and smile, giving him a thumbs-up.
Finally, the Flaotzels hit the surface and land on the ice. Blu runs up to Mira. "Are you alright?" He asks.
Mira nods, clearly not okay. "Ju-jus-just a bit-- bit out of b-breath."
"Okaaaay." Blu says, picking her up regardless, and for once, Mira doesn't fight back. Blu walks straight onto the field of ice until they end up looking at a large, ice blue castle. "This way." Blu walks gingerly onto the wooden bridge with a moat full of hungry beasts just underneath their feet. The drawbridge gradually slopes up, though. Finally, the bridge stops at my door.
Blu knocks the skull-and-crossbones knocker on my gray and red door. "Phantom Spirit, it's me, Blu and--"
"I know who you are. Do you have the girl?" I interrupt.
"Yes. And her name is Mira." Blu whispers.
"Come in."
The door creeps open and I turn around from the large portal disguised as a door. "You're late." I hiss, Climbing on top of my golden desk.
And that's the end of that! Stay tuned for more! Next time, it will be in Blu's point of view. Usually, it will be like it was his time, but next time it's special. I hope you enjoyed!
Shine Bright,
Peace Out From PokeNova
