Chapter 3 - Agreement & Setting Off

Leana hissed, with a note of fear as Xenia's claws extended. Sam stared at her grudgingly before speaking,
"Xenia, calm down, it's-"
"No. Stop! You- Are-" The mad creature - our friend lashed her tail, as it scratched a nearby tree. Then there was an awful, quiet sizzling sound. We all darted our gazes to the oak, as we glimpsed a deep, long mark in it, laced with something. Something liquid. Something certainly dreadful, as the plant slowly began to wither, branches drooping, leaves falling. Xenia haltered, and hesitated for a moment, before studying her claws.
"Sam? Hayley? Diana? Leana...?" We figured out she calmed down, and slowly walked over to her.
"We're here." She looked up, dark green pooling her gaze.
"Why am- are we drag-dragons?" The trustworthy Chinese seemed afraid somehow, as she sniffed the poison in the tree.
"Possibility number one - we're dreaming." Leana said, shaking head.
"Unlikely. Possibility number two - this is-" There was a chilling coldness before Sam could say 'real'. We all glanced to the frosty bush. The dragon in it was heaving, moving. It roared, and thrashed about. Only then did I realize that it was trapped in the bush. Before we knew it, something dropped nearby the ground to Xenia. She picked it up, and showed it to us. It was no mistake or trick of the eye. It was a shining jade stone.

"Screw my first guess..." Leana mumbled, as I nodded slightly.
"Yup. We are all dragons." The ice-like dragon was calming down now. Sam slowly walked over to her, and whispered something that made her roar.
"No! Get away... You blabbermouth beast!" This time we all saw Sam's eyes flare up. She stood on twos, spread her wide, crimson-dotted wings. Hmm.. That's strange. I could remember it was pale a few moments ago, I wondered.
"Shut your mouth up, you ungrateful creature! Don't you reali-" Leana dragged her away before she could she could add another insult or attack. Sam hissed, and slipped out of Leana's arms. Then, red scales materialized to the rocks below her. Her neck grew into leaves, as our friend disappeared.
"Sam!" cried out Leana, her dark tail thumping against the hard forest floor. Diana- the dragon spread ice everywhere, from her feet stamps, as a scar appeared on her tail.
"Sam! Stop!" wailed Xenia, waving her talons. Then silence of the cracking bracken. Until the deep hissing penetrated the glassy quietness. Diana turned towards us, her mouth open as something blue glowed. We all closed our eyes, expecting some kind of fire-ice breath, but it never came, except for the chilling coldness. I opened one eyelid, too see a fallen tree, icy smoke drifting off from it. Its branches were crooked, as if some kind of powerful force pulled and twisted them around. The leaves where withered, drooping lifelessly. Diana gasped, as Sam transformed back into her normal state, this time blue and white colors on her scales.
"Diana," she gasped, "You, breathe deadly ice," before tilting to a side. We looked at her arm, and saw pale, bitter, freezing patterns of frost and snow.
"Right, so. I have a hunch we are about the wings. Such as, I am a Seawing," I spoke, making up rapid talon movements randomly.
"I'm Nightwing and Diana's Icewing," Leana growled softly.
"And I'm Sandwing, and Sam's Rainwing." murmured Xenia.
"So we weren't our favorite dragons after all. Maybe this will work more better," panted Diana. All eyes drew to her as she glanced apologetically at Sam. "Sorry about your arm, okay?" The only response was a nod, as the frost took over another small scale, and her arm shuddered.
"Right, we need fire here. Who breathes fire?" I shout-asked. "Leana and Xenia, I remember from reading when I was human that Sandwings and Nightwings can breathe fire!" Xenia look hesitant, as she moved towards the freezing arm. Leana stayed backwards,
"I don't wanna," she squealed.
"Then you don't have to, I can do it," Xenia answered. "Are you sure, Sam?"
"Of course, just melt it already!" Sam replied, nodding her head. Diana watched with wide eyes, as Xenia blew out a puff of flame, which hit Sam's frozen arm. The Rainwing shook her head, as if she didn't feel anything. Xenia let off two more bursts, as a tiny crack fell off.
"Leana,"
"What?" came back the shrill reply.
"I might need your help on this."
"But-"
"Come on, Leana, you can do it, I just want her healed," Diana muttered. The Nightwing finally nodded, and stepped next to her Sandwing friend. Then, 1. 2. 3. Poof. You could say that Leana's flame was stronger than Xenia's as it enlarged, and hit the frozen parts head on, expanding to the outer scales as well. Sam let out a yelp, as some kind of smoke burst, and we all stepped back in shock.
"Did I kill her? Hurt her? Sam?!" Leana shouted. Then five seconds, and we were able to make out a golden, silver dragon in the midst of the blurryness. Scattered ice dotted the grass, as Diana sighed.
"Yes! It worked!" I exclaimed, smiling. Xenia grimly nodded, and Sam sniffed.
"Now what?" Asked Diana.
"What about.. We... Explore?" Suggested Leana.
Another nod from Xenia.
"Of course, let's go." I spoke. And we opened our wings wide, ready to take off as I crashed down. Awesome takeoff.
"Sorry," I spoke, this time successfully flapping in the air.
"Now, let's go."
