Chapter 11: Reinforcements
We clashed several times. "I have to beat her! Faster! Gotta go faster!" I told myself. I kept saying that inside my mind until I was just a blur to her. I barraged her with punches and kicks until she fell to the ground. Her knees hit the ground and she went back to her normal state. She clicked a button on her metal bracelet. I stepped back as militia soldiers surrounded me. As the last of my energy depleted, I fell onto one knee, not being able to stand. The soldiers stood around me with all their guns pointed at me. I looked around for a way out, there was no exit. I sighed, getting off the knee and laying down on the ground. "Well, looks like you had a backup plan." I said laying there, still as a rock. "Yes, I did. One that you can't even get out of now." she said getting up. "Looks like this was your if all else fails plan." I said. She parted the soldiers so she could get to me. I tried to get up, but my body just wouldn't move.
The woman grabbed me by the collar of my jacket and pulled me up. "To soon to move, huh? Such a shame." she said while she made a fake frown. She giggled and threw me out of the circle of soldiers. I grunted as I hit the ground. I saw the camera on the roof zoom in on my position. I smirked at it. "Still confident enough to smirk huh? I'll fix that." She said before kicking me in the face. My right cheek started to bleed. I felt it and it was under the scar there. I struggled to get up, but when I finally did, I greeted the woman with a punch to the face. She stumbled back and fell face first to the ground. I panted slowly. She got up with a black eye on her left eye. She rushed at me with anger. I dodged a few punches but most of them hit me. The last punch made me fly through the entry doors of the hospital. I slid backwards across the floor and stopped in front of Ashley's room where her parents were signing her discharge papers. I almost got up, but the woman who was attacking me rushed forwards and landed on top of me. I head butted the woman and got her off of me. She fell to the ground unconscious. The militia soldiers came in, picked her up, and left. I stood up wearily and smiled. I looked down at myself to see cuts, bruises, burns, and blood. Yet, I smiled. I knew I had won. Even though the woman left unconscious, I knew she wasn't coming back. I looked over to Ashley who was walking over to me and smiling. She pulled me into a hug. I grunted with pain, but I let her have the moment. Even though she was probably crushing my broken ribs. She stepped back and kissed my right cheek which had a line of blood down it.
