Chapter 4

Chapter 4

From then on the pair met up together every time the silver moon lit up the noir sky, the meeting place was their hideout. The gazebo was a type of place where the two souls felt safe, they felt as ease knowing that their meeting place was there's and there's only.
Leo used to watch Aditya intently, he grew to learn that the young girl was quite the artist....his eyes used to glance in awe at the girl as she drew whatever her mysterious and imaginative mind came up with. The way her tongue stuck out when she was in concentration, she got so excited when she finished a piece and wouldn't let Leo see it until she truly felt it was worthy of his eyes. She was a perfectionist. Everything had to be spot on.
That was what Leo admired about her, she was perfect in every way. He hadn't felt this way about a girl in a very long time...no girl had dared to go near him since year 10, the reason didn't matter. Purely because he didn't like to think about it. The past was in the past, he tended to focus on the future. If you cling onto the past you won't accomplish anything...you can't change the past. And he came to accept that.
Every sunrise the two souls had to separate once again until the next moonrise that night; Leo came to learn that Aditya had very strict parents. She was the only child, so he wasn't very surprised about it. At first he wanted to meet her parents, in fact he found the thought quite interesting and couldn't wait, but Aditya denied his request multiple times and Leo never knew why, Adi wouldn't tell him. But he didn't push her. He didn't want to make a bad move and come of as intrusive...he was afraid it would ruin their friendship. And none of them wanted that.
The two's friendship was one of a kind, almost like God himself had carved the two out of the same slab of stone. They fit together like two puzzle pieces. Peas in a pod.
Leo had so much patience for Adi, he used to wait silently in the gazebo for her yellow dress and hazel eyes to return to him, but one day when the full moon rised Leo once again waited patiently- Silently humming countless tunes and songs as he waited for Aditya. But...she never came. Fear immediately washed over him, she never missed. She always found a way to come no matter what.
The boy started hyperventilating as he thought of the worst possible situations, what if she died? What if she got lost?
But he realized that thinking thoughts like that were not making him feel any better, and it probably wasn't the best move in this certain situation. Maybe she just forgot?
He was sure he had a valid reason for her disappearance, but for now the boy just sighed...and walked back to his cold, lonely alleyway, his pumps kicked the brown and orange crisped leaves in frustration as he slouched back, his hands tucked into his poorly sewn pockets.
The black bats were always waiting for him, but this time they seemed to be taunting him. He knew he shouldn't but he felt as though he did something wrong, that she didn't turn up on purpose. Was she tired of him already? Was it something he said?
Doubts and sadness clouded the boys mind as he fell into a rough slumber. His mind thinking of the worst possibilities.
