Little Bird was hatched and raised in love;

Momma and Papa expected her to grow into a dove.

They kept her warm, dry and fed

in a nest of twigs and thread.

They kept Litte Bird protected and behaved

though could not tame the sense of adventure that she craved. 

She wanted to see the world and fly 

but Momma and Papa were afraid she would fall and die. 

They sheltered Little Bird too much she couldn't breathe

while deep in her heart anger and frustration seethed.

Little Bird, no longer pure, grew into a Raven 

a result of suffocation from her "safe" haven.

Momma and Papa wouldn't teacher her how to soar or sing

so she was stuck in the nest with flightless wings. 

Poor Little Raven, full of frustration and rage

trapped in a nest that turned into a cage.
