The predator started across the field
The prey was clueless out there
Watching from far, the deer said
"Run, run, oh little hare!"

Lion looked above the bush
Saw the deer behind
"I was on a diet today,
But now I've changed my mind."

The deer warned, "remember Lion,
You promised to lose your weight,
That's the only way you'll get to go,
With the lioness on a date."

The lion was torn
Between love and hunger
And wished he had the looks
He had when he was younger

Snake just laughed from atop the tree
At the lion's fate unpleasant
Not everyone could shed their skin
And lose weight in a second

But then his wife slithered out
And rattled her tail in suit
"Learn something from him!
How romantic! How cute!"

Meanwhile the hare just kept grazing
"I don't care for any of that."
She looked aside, winked at her crush
"I look beautiful when I'm fat."

The deer, ever chasing lightness
The lion, with his eyes on the prize
And the snake who had it easy
They only watched on in surprise.

Because it didn't matter to her crush
If she was fat, thin or trim
As long as the hare loved herself
She was perfect for him
