How do you pretend to be normal
When your body aches to crack
And let the darkness out,
When your eyes keep asking for help?

She was on her bed
Bloodshot eyes staring at empty
The unholy spirits screeching by her ear.

What more could be taken away?
Her fears, insecurities
And the haunting ghost of past
Were present there, around her.
What more could be stripped?

Muffling her cries
Drowning in her pills
She tried to find sleep.

The day arrived
Sooner than expected.
She had to practice her perfect smile
While kneeling in the washroom
Holding the pot and emptying the night
From her guts.

She could never let them know
About the devil that
Crawls in the skin.

A/N:

What is normal?
A perfect smile, no teary eyes, scarless body and no demons that haunt?

We learn to hide this pain because we fear no one will understand. The demons that you hide slowly start consuming your soul. Even if your smile could lie, your eyes can never hide. 

Do not assume that if someone is carrying the demons well doesn't mean they aren't haunting their life. And never assume just because you tear up a lot, you aren't strong enough to slay these demons.
