"OH. MY. GOD. " I gasped.

I couldn't help but shriek a little in excitement when I read the notification. Napaupo ako and binasa iyon ng paulit-ulit.

"Shiitt," nakangiting hagikhik ko nang maproseso iyon ng brain ko. I couldn't help but lay down again sa sofa, grabbed a pillow and kicked my feet in the air.

"Hoy! Anong nangari sa 'yo boba?" Kunot-noo noong tanong ni Vien sa akin.

She's even looking at me with pandidiring expression because I'm biting the unan! I feel like I couldn't control the kilig I'm feeling kasi e!

"My crush followed me back!" I told her proudly just to make her feel inggit about it.

I chuckled once more and took screenshots of the notification so I could send them to Finn.

"Ah. " Hindi nagulat na sagot ni Vien. She doesn't even have an emotion! So nakakapanira ng mood! "Bago na naman 'yan? Kawawa naman siya." She added with naawang expression on her stupid face!

I stopped typing and glared at her. Why do I feel like I'm a player because of her question? "This is different na. I'm serious."

"Bobo." Irap ni Dolly. "Ganiyan din sinabi mo sa lahat ng MGA naging crush mo." She even diin the "Mga" word ha!

I rolled my eyes, " You're so inggetera talaga. If you don't have a colorful pag-ibig life then don't drag me with you ha!"

"Anong walang colorful na pag-ibig? Pulang-pula nga e," she chuckles. She even looked thrilled about it!

"Tanga-tanga din 'to. Yang nginingiti-ngiti mo ngayon, iiyak mo talaga 'yan sa susunod." Bash sa kaniya ni Vien. "Diba Ayel?"

Tumingin si Ayel sa amin and she nodded! "Yeah. Just saying this based on my experience. " She shrugged.

They immediately tukso Amara about what she said. Name drop daw kung kanino niya 'yon na experience. Nanghingi pa nga sila ng clue as if they don't know who that is!

Hindi ko na sila pinansin and just debated kung anong message ba yung isesend ko kay Seign. After brainstorming about it for minutes, I tapped the send button.

I bit my kuko as I waited for his reply.

"Ugh," I grunted and muted the messages coming from my other 'insignificant' crushes.

Insignificant crushes na sila because they became an option na lang. It's not that I'm clearing their names off my list, it's just that I'll be back on them if ever I got rejected again. I won't forget them naman ano!

Minutes passed but he didn't send a response nor read it. I puckered my lips in disappointment. Is he busy ba right now?

I couldn't help but stalk him na nga lang tuloy. It's a pity talaga that this guy doesn't have any social media accounts except for Twitter. Kung sino pa talaga yung good-looking sometimes, sila pa yung hindi mahilig sa social medias.

They should flex their handsome faces ano! To encourage us, women, to live a happy and thrilling life naman.

I scrolled down to see his tweets and... all of its content is about music. Maraming retweets and replies 'yon na he never replied naman. I sighed depressingly when I couldn't see a single picture of him! I don't have anything to save tuloy!

On the contrary, there are tons of Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey's faces in his media, so I can't help but tched. Mayroon pa ngang ibang girls doon! Most probably artists din!

I got curious tuloy sa Spotify niya account. I wanna know what genre and kind of music he's interested in. Para if ever we talked again, we have something in common naman na pwedeng mapag-usapan.

This music enthusiast. Ginawa niya atang tambayan ang Spotify. I couldn't even count his playlist because it's so dami. Some of them even got hundreds of thousands of likes and followers. The highest he got reached a million from his "Haven" playlist.

He listens to whatever genre din. I played some songs from his playlists and listened to them while scrolling down his account. Nakailang songs na ata ako before I got a reply.

I lazily opened our convo. I won't reply back na sana because wala na naman akong mathink na dapat ireply sa kaniya but then, he suddenly sent a picture.

I tapped the picture and stared at it. It's a topless picture of Seign lying in a reclining chair while holding a wine! He's looking somewhere and it looks like this photo was taken without his idea.

So that's the reason pala kung bakit hindi siya nakareply sa message ko! Because he's busy enjoying life in Finn's house.

Zinoom ko pa yung photo just to see the details of his body. I save the picture after and I even took screenshots of it. Napatitig ako ulit before I look around to see if someone's watching me. I couldn't find where's Vien is and the other two seems busy.

I quickly draw my phone closer and kissed the screen. I giggled after doing it but flinched when I heard a cough.

"Anong ginagawa mo?" halos mandiring tanong ni Vien. She looks like kakalabas niya lang ng kitchen because she's holding a tupperware of ice cream.

"Vien, isda 'yan," sambit ni Amara sa hindi kalayuan.

Hindi ko na napansin ang hiya ko and at the same time yung pagmura niya because I felt my phone vibrating again.

After reading Finn's reply, I didn't waste any time anymore. I get ready na and packed some of the essential things I might need.

"Saan ka pupunta?" salubong na tanong ni Dolly after kong lumabas ng aking room.

Napatingin din tuloy sa akin si Vien na ngumunguya ng food. Ayel just took a glipmse before diverting her attention to the movie again.

I chuckled excitedly, "Lalandi ako!"

Her mouth formed an 'o', thrilled about what she heard. "Sige. Alis na." pangtataboy niya sa akin. "Yung mga tinuro ko sa 'yo ha! Make sure to apply it!"

"Ingat sa pag-alis, saka sa penis," Vien teased after she gulped what she's munching.

Disappointed lang silang tiningnan ni Ayel bago bumaling sa akin. "Where to?" 

"I'm going to Finn's! I don't know if you know him. Still, don't worry about it since Azul's there naman." I assured. Puro kablockmates nila daw 'yon e!

She didn't ask for more and just nodded. "'Kay. Take care. "

After that, I drove my car to Finn's house. I chatted him nang makarating na ako since I don't want naman na pumasok lang ako. That's nakakahiya. Sinundo niya naman ako sa gate and lead me inside.

I was greeted by his pool where his other friends are swimming. There's a table at the side where the foods and beverages are placed.

However, my eyes settled on the guy sitting on the couch while singing at the karaoke. He looked so serious doing it.

Even his voice sounds good huh. It made him look so gwapo.

"Finn, man! Where did you go?!" sigaw na tanong ng isang lalaki doon kaya napatingin sa amin ang mga kaibigan niyang nakaupo at umiinom.

Seign glimpse at us too and stared at me as if he recognized me.

"May sinundo lang na KAIBIGAN bro!" so gagong sagot ni Finn sa kaniyang mga friends who's looking at us maliciously.

After that, Seign looked at the screen again to continue singing since it was about to hit the high notes.

"Are you going to change your clothes first?" Finn asked.

I nodded and took a last glimpse of Seign again before going to the comfort room. I took my time changing into my swimming fit and fixing my face to look presentable. I even took a few selfies and send them to my friends. Nang makuntento na ako ay saka ko lang binuksan ang pintuan ng cr.

I stopped when I saw Seign drinking water in the kitchen. He took a brief look at me when he heard the door closing.

Lumapit ako sa kaniya and leaned to the table so that he can see how sexy I am naman. I smiled cutely at him, "Hi. "

He put his glass down and smiled a little at me too. Asdfghjkl?? "Yeah, hi. "

We have a moment of silence and but no one moves an inch in our places. I was taking my time admiring his body while he was looking at me as if he was asking if I still need anything.

"So umm. I just came here to bring Finn's jacket," I brought up para lang magkatopic kami.

He looked at my face for seconds before looking down at my body. He hides his smile by drinking his water again.

God! That took my breathed away! The dimples?! Shit! Sana mamana ng mga anak namin!

"For someone who just came here to bring a jacket back, you look so prepared to swim. "

I was caught off guard because of what he said. I could feel my cheeks reddening because of embarrassment. Wala na tuloy akong masay since binara niya ako!

"Anyway, I like your bikini. " He smiles a little at tumalikod na para bumalik sa labas na parang hindi man lang siya nagcause ng panic sa buong nervous, cardiovascular and digestive system ko?!

Napatingin ako sa kaniya saka impit na tumili ng makalabas na siya ng door. I bit my lower lip to stop myself from smiling.

Bikini ko lang ang gusto niya? How about naman ako? How about naman yung body ko?

I faked a cough and happily get out of the door while holding the paper bag. Sinalubong ako ng mga sigawan ng mga guys na nagkakaraoke since may nakakuha ata ng mataas na score sa kanila. I saw Seign slightly laughing with them while holding a glass of whiskey.

"Kala!" I looked at Azul who's walking closer to me. "Hi!" She hold me in my arms and kissed me on the cheeks. "I heard from Finn that you're here!"

"Hello! You're so pretty!" I greeted her too. "And yes, he invited me over!" She leads me to their couch while we're talking.

"What?! You have a crush on Roi?!" pabulong niyang sigaw since we're drawing near their couch. Baka marinig lang nila! "You should have told me! Nireto ko sana siya sa 'yo. Do you want me to help ba? Since... you know! He's a tough one."

"Don't ya worry! I can manage this girl," I proudly told her with so much confidence.

"Well, if you say so! " she says and then bumaling siya sa kanila when we reached the table. "Guys, it's Kala!" pakilala niya sa akin. Napalingon naman yung mga people, including Seign of course and they greeted me with enthusiasm.

"Upo ka! Upo!" nang-aasar na tingin ng mga guys like as if they are going to do something na nakakademonyo.

"Pre, usog ka dito," some guy told Seign so that they can have a space for me.

Seign moved a little kaya nagkaspace beside him. I tried not to make it obvious that I really like it when I sat beside him.

I was even a little nervous because of excitement and really forced myself not to smile widely. He looked uncomfortable kasi ang kaunti lang ng space between us at nagdidikit yung mga skin namin. But I didn't expect him placed his arm on the top of the backrest behind me! It looks like nakaakbay siya tuloy sa akin!

I bite the inside of my cheeks to stop myself from grinning. Ugh. This is so hard. I wanted to chuckle na because of kilig.

Sumandal tuloy ako sa backrest para naman makaakbay na siya! Nahihiya pa kasi siyang ilagay yung kamay niya sa aking shoulder. I won't complain naman.

If he wants, he could choke me using those arms too! Pwedeng-pwedeng niya din akong ihug sa neck ng super mahigpit. I will gladly enjoy every minute of it until hindi na ako makahinga. Char.

"Sino na yung kakanta after?" Azul asked. "Roi, kanta ka ulit?"

The guy beside me shook his head, "Ayoko na. I've been singing since earlier. "

"Kala! You sing?" tanong no'ng kasama ni Seign sa music festival na nag-asar sa akin. As long as I remember, he's Tripp ata.

They looked at me, waiting for an answer. Even Seign did the same. I could feel his stares pierce through my cheeks tuloy.

"I don't! Sorry!" I answered as I take the glass of whiskey from Azul who was handing it to me.

Baka kapag kumanta ako, Seign will be turn off because of my voice. Well, it's not that bad naman! Just super bad. Even the frog will insult me.

They're arguing about who's going to sing next while I'm sipping from my drink. Natahimik lang sila ng slight when Finn came back from somewhere.

"I found it guys. Here," he said saka nilagay yung isang maliit na box sa gitnang table. It's a drunk card game.

Finn takes his seat in front of me. My mouth formed an 'o' when I remembered something after seeing his face. Kinuha ko yung paper bag na dala ko since earlier pa and gave it to him. "Oh, here's your jacket pala!"

Mukhang naremember niya din based on his expression at kinuha sa akin yung paper bag. He looked inside to confirm if it's his jacket and handed it to my side. "Bro, jacket mo," natatawang sambit niya.

Seign stared at it for seconds first as if he was processing what Finn just said before taking it from him. Kinuha niya ang jacket sa loob saka tiningnan. He then looked at me and said, "Yeah. Thanks for bringing it back. "

Does that belong to him? I stared at Finn with awe and an expression of betrayal! But he just grinned at me playfully!

Hindi man lang sinabi sa akin! Sana nilagay ko yon sa pinakaspecial kong hanger! Or used the most expensive powder I have when I washed it and ironed it for hours! Only if I knew! I felt guilty kasi hinayaan ko lang 'yon sa gilid without doing any special care because I thought its Finn's!

"Oh, ano na? Mix niyo na yung mga brinks, bro!" Finn encouraged kina Tripp and smirked. "We're going to do some liver damage today."

Halos masuka ako nang makita yung mga pinaghahalo nila. Gosh! Makakauwi pa ba akong alive? They are so extreme naman!

"Ugh. Inumin pa ba yan, o lason na?" Hindi mapigilang comment ni Azul.

They just laughed like an evil witched and smirked at us after mixing everything. "Shall we play?" nakangising tanong ni Tripp as he opened the box of the game to get the cards out. "Walang kj a!"

Finn was the first one to draw out a card at binasa niya ang nakalagay doon. "Everyone votes on who is the biggest asshole. That person drinks."

Each and one of us pointed him out without hesitation and without even thinking twice. Yeah that card was for him.

"Anak nang, grabe naman kayo sa akin!" he complained pero he still drinks naman yung alcohol na binigay nila like as if it's tubig.

"Ako na!" Tripp excitedly stated before bumunot ng card. "You must take off an article of clothing or drink. This is so easy."

Napatawa kaming mga girls saka medyo napatakip ng eyes when he suddenly undressed his shorts. He's left on his boxers na lang. Napasipol din yung ibang guys and someone's even documenting it.

"Pre, g ako sa damuhan," playful na sambit ni Finn at pabirong inabot yung crotch ng isa! Gosh. Guys and their weird habits!

"P-pre," touched na sambit ng isa and nginuso yung lips towards kay Finn to ask for some kiss. The other one playfully pout his lips too and move his face closer which made us react with pandidiri.

"Dude, get a room," lukot ang mukhang sambit ni Seign and hinagis sa kanilang dalawa yung card na nabunot. Natigil naman yung two while laughing.

After they calmed down, Azul did the same and read the card she picked. Pinakita niya sa aming lahat ang card after, "All guys drinks."

Uminom din si Seign but he didn't show any reaction after drinking the whole glass of alcohol. He grabbed a slice of lemon though and sips it.

It's my turn to draw a card after that. Kumuha ako ng isa at ramdam ko ang mga stares nila sa akin. Binasa ko muna siya using my eyes only.

Napalingon ako because I felt ticklish all of sudden. Halos tumalon yung heart ko from it's rib cage nang makitang malapit yung face ni Seign sa mukha ko. Nakikisilip!

"Let me see," he says with eyes settled on me kasi bigla kong nalayo yung card sa gulat! Shit. Nakakapanghina naman ang tingin na yan!

I pursed my lips and just let him. We both read it using our eyes. Parang biglang hindi ko na magets yung nakasulat doon! Nacoconcious ako kasi sobrang lapit niya and I can't seem to calm down. Lumayo din siya after niyang mabasa and that's when I showed the card to the rest.

"Free pass." I told them. They immediately whine out of jealousy sa nabunot kong card.

"Turn mo na bro," Finn told Seign.

Seign leaned to the table to draw one card. "Pick a person and start a staring contest. Loser drinks." He reads that made everyone turned silent, baka ayaw mapili at matalo?

Seign placed the card down and turned to my direction fully. Kaagad napahiyaw yung mga kasama namin.

Heck. Hindi makapaniwalang piniont ko ang sarili ko just to confirm it and he nodded.

"Wait," I gestured to calm myself down. Natatawa na kasi ako!

Omg kasi! Why me ang pinili niya?!

"Oh, maunang umiwas ng tingin, may pagtingin ha!" Halakhak na tukso ni Finn! What an asshole! Nag-apir pa nga sila nong Tripp! I do not know is he's helping me or pushing me to the cliff!

I faced him after I calmed myself down. Nagtitigan kami for how long without blinking. My heart's pounding so much and I can't control it.

How could I control it when I can see how brown his eyes and how long his lashes are? Doon lang nakafocus ang tingin ko sa mata niya and I felt like I was lost in wonderland. I can't stand it so I looked away.

I could feel na kapag tumagal pa yung titigan namin, I'll just suddenly grab his face and kiss him right there!

"Fine, I'll drink instead," nakabusangot na ani ko which made him smile a little because he won.

I took a one glass of alcohol and drink it. Napangiwi ako kasi ang tapang ng lasa. Ramdam ko ang init sa aking tyan.

The girl after me draws her card and reads, "Everyone who is single drinks. "

"Haha gagi, akin na nga shot. Mas mapait pa yung sinabi kaysa sa alak e. Namemersonal!" reklamo nila.

Kukuha na sana ako ng baso pero nilingon na ako ni Seign. He's holding a glass and he was about to gave it to me when he remembered something kaya nilayo niya muna sa akin.

"Single?" He asks as if he wanted to confirm it.

I pursed my lips to stop myself from grinning. Gosh! Bakit niya natanong?!

Sobrang eager tuloy akong tumango. "Yeah! And very available! In a discounted price pa! So ano pa ang hinihintay mo? I-avail mo na ako!"

He looked at me with confusion because of my enthusiastic answer. Napapout tuloy ako and kinuha na lang sa kaniya yung glass saka ininom without kibo!

The game continues pero I quitted nang makakalahati kami sa card since nahihilo na ako. Nagrest muna ako para mawala yung hilo ko before I dive to the pool. I just relaxed there and after almost 15 minutes, I decided na umahon na since it's starting to get cold.

Napahilamos ako to get the water out of my face. I walked towards the deck chair to grab my towel. I glimpse at Seign who's sitting neat me while banging his head a little. He looked so immersed with what he's listening that he didn't noticed me at all.

I took my time fighting with my inner ego first before I caved in to my desire and approach him. Lumingon lang siya sa akin after niyang maramdaman ang presensya ko sa tabi niya. Kinuha niya yung airpods niya sa kabilang tenga and raised his brows, asking me what's my deal.

"Hi," I greeted cheekly while I'm still covered with my towel. 

"Ugh, hello?" may pagtatakang sagot niya.

"What are you listening to?" feeling close na ask ko saka tumabi sa kaniya. 

Umusog pa din naman siya to give me some space even though he's still a little confused.  "Over October," he answered then it took him a few seconds to ask, "You know them?"

Should I lie so para naman may common kami? But what if he'll ask me what's my fav song of Over October? Wala akong maanswer! So I just replied, "Uh, no. " Hoping he won't get turned off!

Pinatay niya na yung music sa phone niya and took off his airpods completely. "Why? They're good. Listen to their song, kaakit-akit. It's great. And try their other songs too. " He recommended.

He looked like a quiet kid and was easily irritated pero nagiging madaldal siya when it comes to music huh! Or he's just interested in me? Type niya ata ako! 

"So, you're a music enthusiast or something?" I asked, even though I already have a hunch.

"You could say that."  He shrugged. "Why are you asking?"

"Nothing naman." I smiled. "I just recently took a liking towards music" And that's because of you! "It's a kind of therapeutic pala. And I was wondering if you could give me recommendations on what to listen to."

It was just a moment but I think, saw his eyes glimmer as if he found a playmate. "I don't mind. I could share with you my favorites. Do you have Spotify?"

It took me a lot of self-restraint to stop myself from squealing so hard after hearing his answer. Way to go, Kala! Go, grow, glow!

"Wait. Kukunin ko lang yung phone ko." Paskip-skip akong umalis sa harapan niya at saka patakbong bumalik sa kaniya sa sobrang excitement at pagkamiss sa kaniya.

"Here," bigay ko sa kaniya ng aking phone after I opened the app.

I even turned my phone to 'do not disturb' kasi baka biglang may magmsg from my other crushes then iba ang isipin niya! Chinange ko din yung wallpaper ko ng magandang photo ko para naman makita niya and sana, he'll be attracted of me diba!

"Why?" I asked him when he turned to me with brows furrowed.

He showed me the screen of my phone and I saw my recent search on Spotify! Oh no!

"This is my account." He told me with confusion.

"Oh, that's yours? Haha! What a coincidence! " awkward na sambit ko. I just mutter the first excuse that comes to my mind. It's not even convincing!

He raised his brows at me. "Stalker. "

I pouted. "I'm not!"

Hindi niya pinansin ang sinabi ko saka pinindot yung account niya to stalk himself!

"Was it also a coincidence that you are following my account?" He asked again just to mock my answer! 

I just stayed silent since I don't want to embarrass myself again! Like he already knows what happened. He's not dumb but does he really need put me in a hot seat like this? Tinatablan din kaya ako ng shyness!

"So, you even like my playlists huh. " Puna niya ulit!

"Ugh," I grunted. "Fine! I stalked you! But just because I thought you have a good taste in music and I'll discover something good in your playlist. It's not because of you, okay?" I told him defensively.

"Okay." He chuckled a little, showing his dimples again! Nakalimutan ko na naman tuloy yung inis ko.

"Wait." he said and inopen niya ang phone niya.

My gaze turned sharp when I saw na si Taylor yung lock screen niya while si Olivia naman yung wallpaper niya?! This fanboy! Literal na he betrayed me without knowing that he belongs with me eh.

Pero napaiwas kaagad ako ng gaze kasi nakita ko sa screen ng phone niya ang pagnotif ng message ko sa twitter?!

God! It's nakakahiya pala! Masyadong halata na crush ko siya!

Mukhang nakita niya din since nagpop up talaga sa uper corner ng phone niya but he didn't put any pansin to it.

He go to his Spotify and followed me back. Gosh! I bite my lips to stop myself from squealing out of kilig since nasa harap ko pa siya!

He scrolled down to his phone then he gave me the other piece of his airpods. Nilagay niya iyon sa other side ng aking tainga. I could even feel the warmth of his fingertips. Grabe. He's so sweet?!

"Listen to this," he says and tapped something on his phone. Then the music played.

Nakatitig lang siya sa akin, looking at my expression while I'm listening to it. He's humming a little too while tapping his hand on his knees, getting along to the beat.

"How was it?" tanong niya when we finished listening to it. He then paused the music so the next song won't play next. He's staring at me with so much anticipation.

"It was good! I especially love the vibe! Ang ganda ng taste mo sa music!" I wasn't even exaggerating to get his favor. Totoong maganda yung pinarinig niya sa akin.

He smiled, proud that I came to like the song he recommended. "Listen to this too." He suggested and turned to play it.

Nakikinig lang ata kami ng music sa isang gilid na parang may sarili kaming world. I'll listen to ever music he suggests and I'll leave a comment after.

"When did you become interested in music?" tanong ko sa kalagitnaan.

I already prepared some questions to ask him. Nagresearch na ako sa google ng mga pwedeng itanong sa mga music lover. Ang dami pang results and I really took my time reading them than my readings.

"Since I was a child. My father's a musician. " Sagot niya.

My mouth formed an 'o'. "So you could play musical instruments as well?"

"Yeah."

"Ano ang kaya mong iplay?"

"Too many to mention." He shrugged, looking so smug. "You should have asked me what I could not."

My lips parted a little. "Ano?"

He gave me a lopsided grin. "Wala."

"Wow. You're so yabang." I could not help but muttered.

He chuckled and shook his head. "I'm not mayabang. I'm being honest. That's different."

"Okay, Mr. Genius," sagot ko at inisip ulit yung mga nabasa kong questions sa 60 questions you could ask a music lover. "So what's your favorite band?"

Bigla siyang mahirapan bigla sa pagsagot. "I liked plenty of them... Matatagalan tayo if I'll cite them one by one. "

I raised my brows. "You're just lazy na magsalita e. "

He rolled his eyes. "I just prefer listening more than talking." Yeah, I could see that clearly. "How about you? Is there any band that's piquing your interest right now?"

"Well yeah, " I smiled. "Bandang ikaw."

Natahimik siya ng kaunti saka napaisip sa sinabi ko. "I don't think I know them. What are their songs?"

I laughed so hard at his reply because, in a way, I already expected him to respond like that! Ghad, I can't tell if he's oblivious to my flirty acts or he's genuinely like this.

"What's wrong?" he asked, bothered kasi may banda siyang hindi alam!

I shook my head. "I'm sure you'll figure it out."

He looked puzzled at kukulitin pa sana ako about the band I told him nang bigla na lang kaming mabasa ng water. We both looked so startled.  Sabay kaming napatingin sa pool at ang natatawang papansing tropa niya ang sumalubong sa amin.

"Dude, sana all nagsosolo!" Tripp whistled with a grin.

"What the fuck is your problem?" iritang tanong sa kanila ni Seign. 

"Sama ka na sa amin pre!" aya pa ng tropa niya as if he's not bothered na badtrip si Seign. He looks so used na sa ugali ng friend niya. "Bigyan mo din kami ng atensyon."

"I don't want to. Pangit mong kasabay," straightforward na sagot niya. What the hell. He wasn't even joking! Is this normal? 

"You okay?" Seign asked after gazing at me. Ni hindi niya man lang binigyan ng pansin ang mga friends niya after he roast them.

"Yeah, but I'm getting a little cold. I'm going to banlaw na baka makacaught pa ako ng cold," pag-update ko sa kaniya. Umalis lang ako nang tumango siya.

That was our last interaction, but it wasn't bad considering what greeted me the next morning.
