Wardrobes With Wedding Dresses?

A/N~ Hiya Guys! I just wanna say thanks for sticking around with the book this long :) I know some chapters haven't been the best, or felt a bit rushed? But I really do enjoy this book so much. Like, I find it so fun to do the extra research ((that I actually enjoy cuz nerdom)) for this fic & work one of my favorite shows with one of my favorite ships, which I hope you're diggin' too! <3

Also, please enjoy this bad edit of Frank in the jacket that gets described later in the chapter

~Skittles Out~

"Where exactly are we going?" Frank asked, excitedly, as he watched the Doctor do his usual button pressing and lever pulling at the tardis controls.

The Doctor turned to him with a grin. "The past." He replied before running around the circular consul.

Frank rolled his eyes before running after the Doctor. "Is that where Jack is?" He inquired, peering around to catch the end of the Doctor's suit jacket running around the consul.

The Doctor just flashed him another grin before the unique noise of the tardis began. Frank caught up to the Doctor and leaned against his arm.

"Does your life ever slow down?" Frank asked, allowing himself to catch his breath.

"Depends on what you define as a slow day." The Doctor shrugged.

Frank nodded, slightly, letting his eyes close. The Doctor was warm. Frank had never noticed how much body heat the time lord seemed to put off... Then again, they hadn't really been in a cold environment until this adventure.

"Frankie!" The Doctor's hand tapped his cheek lightly, causing him to reopen his eyes. "We're here."

"That was fast..." Frank mumbled, standing upright and scratching his head. "Where exactly is here?"

"Past." The Doctor replied, simply.

Frank rolled his eyes again. "Helpful."

The Doctor rolled his own eyes. "Not as far back as the last time he was sent, but a good, about, thirty years in the past."

"Thirty years?" Frank asked, "Thirty years back from my time?"

"Just about, Frankie."

"So that means..." Frank wracked his brain for the simple math required to calculate it. His eyes finally grew wide as he turned to the Doctor. "We're in the eighties?"

The Doctor laughed. "Honestly, Frank, we were just in the eighteen hundreds and you're in awe over the nineteen eighties?"

"It's cool!" Frank defended himself, "Can we go out?"

"In your pajamas?" The Doctor smirked with the raise of his eyebrow.

Frank looked down and groaned. "Have a spare change of clothes?" He asked with a small smile, "My other outfit is in the wash."

The Doctor nodded. "Pretty sure I can dig up something retro for you." With that, the Doctor hurried down the steps from the main platform and ran to a room on the first level of the ship. Frank watched curiously as he stepped down to the first level himself.

"Doctor?" Frank called out, hurrying over to the room. "Doctor, where have you..." Frank trailed off as his eyes were met with the biggest wardrobe he had ever seen. It seemed there were fashions throughout the ages, in both men and women's styles. The colors were limitless and seemingly aligned by palette. Each article of clothing seemed to flow into the next one in a room that seemed to go on forever.

"Frankie?"

The Doctor's voice echoed, but Frank couldn't see him. This room's vastness reminded Frank much of the library near his room. It really made him wonder what other unexplored rooms equaled to this size inside something much smaller on the outside.

"Frank! Go past the wedding dresses!" The Doctor called out to him again.

Wedding dresses? Frank looked around for the white colors, quickly finding them on the end of a row a few feet away from him. He hurried down, taking a moment to observe the only two that appeared to be in the section. The first was about a medium sized pearl color with straps to keep it up. With its hanger came a veil with a small tiara on it. The second dress was almost shimmering white, slim and strapless. The veil attached to its hanger had a small collection of flowers that matched a red necklace, which also hung with the dress.

"I see you!"

Frank turned away from the dresses to see the Doctor a ways away, waving from a section of dark clothing. Frank hurried that way, passing the slowly darkening to gray, then black clothing.

"You have way too large of a wardrobe to have ever traveled alone." Frank commented as he slowed his pace, beginning to feel his breath catch up with him. "This is insane."

"I don't try to travel alone." The Doctor shrugged, spinning around to look at the isles of clothes surrounding them. "Over the years, I've had dozens of companions who've helped add to this, you know."

"Still... Insane..." Frank grinned, attempting to even out his breathing. He shook his fingers through his hair to push it back before looking at the darker clothing beside the Doctor. "Anything retro here?"

The Doctor nodded as a smile quickly creeped onto his face. "Oh, yes!" He hurried over to the dark clothing to pull out a patterned leather jacket with some tight, dark pants. "Neato, right?" The time lord grinned between the outfit and Frank.

"Do you just have a thing for me in dark colors?" Frank asked, reaching out for the clothing.

"It's nice!" The Doctor argued, "Conseals some stains quite nicely, it goes with anything, and it is quite slimming. Not that you need it." The Doctor grinned before running past Frank. "I'LL LEAVE YOU TO CHANGE!"

Frank shook his head as the time lord's footsteps echoed around the end of this row of clothing. He quickly stripped his pajamas and attempted to slide on the pants he had been given. He had to wiggle a bit, but he got them on eventually.

He grabbed his pajamas from the floor and wandered along the isle, observing the different colors, as well as, time periods of the clothing surrounding him. It seemed timeless to go along with how limitless it felt.

"This is nuts..." Frank laughed as he made it to the end of the row, "Everything is so huge in here..."

He ran to the door, remembering that he had changed for a reason, and pushed it open. The Doctor was holding his sonic to one of the mechanical bits of the tardis before bringing it up to his face to observe.

"You may need to invest in glasses, Doctor." Frank chuckled as he walked over to the time lord.

The Doctor turned his head quickly at the sound of Frank's voice, but scoffed at the suggestion. "I have reading glasses, but I'm perfectly visually capable."

"Well, if you're reading the sonic, shouldn't you have your glasses on?" Frank asked, walking over to the stairs to set his pajamas on.

"Now don't you get sassy, Frank, that's my job." The Doctor said, shaking his sonic at the human.

Frank just grinned. "Ready to go get Jack?" He asked as he inched towards the door.

"Changing the subject, but yes! Let's get going." The Doctor pocketed his sonic and ran to the door, pushing it open to gesture Frank out.

Frank stepped out of the tardis and into a dark alley. He looked around curiously as the doctor shut and locked the tardis. The walls around them were a grimey brick, and trash overflowed from their designated cans.

"How lovely." The Doctor said with the scrunch of his nose. He pulled his sonic back out and walked over to one of the walls, that Frank now saw had a door on it.

"Whatchya doin'?" Frank asked, bouncing from his heels to his toes in unsureness of what to do.

The sound of the sonic's buz echoed off the walls around them as the Doctor held it on. "Following Jack's message." The time lord replied before twisting the door's knob and pushing it open, "C'mon."

The Doctor lead the way for Frank into a darkened hall. Both remained quiet as they moved towards a light up ahead. The subtle clanging of glasses and casual conversation could also be heard. The Doctor held his hand back to stop Frank as they got closer to the end of the dark hall.

"Wait." He whispered, continuing forward. He made it to the end of the hall and held out his sonic screwdriver. He peaked around the corner, but a grin quickly spread across his face. "Never mind, Frankie, come on out."

Frank hurried forward, as the Doctor instructed, to be met by Jack sitting at a bar with beer in hand. He was casually talking to a fellow with, what looked like, a splotch of red in his hair, and a slightly larger than usual nose.

The Doctor walked over and Frank followed, passing by several round tables of people passed out, or on their way there.

"Good ol' Jack-a-boy!" The Doctor grinned, patting Jack's back when they approached.

Jack turned to them with a grin of his own. "Doctor! Frank! What took you so long? It's been a whole three hours."

"Better timing than some I've had in the past for picking people back up..." The Doctor muttered, adjusting his tie nervously.

The guy Jack had been talking to looked at the new comers curiously. He smiled at Frank with a small wave before turning back to Jack.

"Ah, I should introduce you to my, friend." Jack winked with his last word, making the other boy smirk. "Meet Jack Barakat."

"Jack and Jack, what a combo." The Doctor mused, smiling between them. "Hope you haven't gotten too attached, this Jack's a bit of a free spirit."

"As long as he provides me with some free spirits, I'm perfectly fine with the 'hit it and quit it' method." Jack Barakat laughed, holding up his drink in a cheers motion.

"Jack!" The Doctor said, slight disapproval in his tone.

"Yes?" They both answered with completely innocent looks.

Frank shook his head. "This is just odd."

Captain Jack looked at Frank skeptically. "With the things I assume you've seen with him," he gestured to the Doctor, "My relations with a man of similar name and good looks is odd?"

Frank opened his mouth, but closed it just as quickly. Jack did have a point. He had seen plenty of pretty odd things with the Doctor so far. Who knew what would come next.

"So, you're the captain's Jack's Doctor?" Barakat asked, looking at the time lord.

"I'm just the Doctor." He replied, extending his hand to shake Jack's. "My name is a bit misleading due to the lack of medical experience."

"Ain't he a cute flirt?" Captain Jack grinned at the other Jack, nugding his arm.

"Oi! Don't you start that, Jack." The Doctor said with a stern look. While the two of them bickered a bit back and forth, the other Jack looked at Frank.

"Barakat." He shrugged, sticking out his hand.

"Iero." Frank shrugged back, holding out his own hand to shake Jack's. "Frank Iero."

The other human grinned. "Bond fan?"

"Yes! Those movies are rad, I love them!" Frank laughed, holding up his hand for a high five, which Jack eagerly returned.

"Aww, look, our boy toys are bonding." Captain Jack smirked, obviously proud of his pun.

The Doctor crossed his arms. "Frank is not a boy toy. He is my companion."

The Jack that Frank had been talking to raised his hand, just slightly. "I don't mind being a boy toy, as long as he'll play with me."

Captain Jack laughed, wrapping his arm around the other Jack. "This guy's great, I swear."

"Didn't you say you've only been here three hours?"

"A lot can happen in three hours, Frank." Captain Jack replied with a wink.

The Doctor rolled his eyes. "Cheeky boy, now C'mon. Finish your drink and let's get you back."

"Do you have to leave?" Jack frowned.

Captain Jack gave him a sympathetic smile. "Not yet."

The Doctor raised an eyebrow, but captain Jack waved his hand frantically at him from behind his back.

"Honestly, a few more drinks and I'm going to seem like nothing more than a dream." Captain Jack shrugged. Jack looked confused, but there was a clouding starting to cover his eyes. The Captain just continued to speak calmly to him, "That Alex boy from earlier in the night may be worth talking to, but you didn't hear that from me."

Jack nodded before falling forward. Captain Jack caught him immediately in his arms with a bit of a sad look in his eye.

"He really was nice." He frowned, holding the unconscious figure close.

"What did you do!?" The Doctor exclaimed, looking between the conscious, and unconscious Jack.

Captain Jack shook his head. "It's something to make him forget the past few hours. Everything we did was completely consensual, but he may have caught a glimpse or two at some future tech..." He looked down, biting his lip.

"Oh, you dirty man." The Doctor said with the shake of his head, "He'll be alright though?"

"He'll wake up thinking he drank too much. Don't worry, Doctor, it's the same thing I use when people see things from Torchwood." Jack said as he stood up, adjusting the other Jack bridal style carefully in his arms. "I'll have him to his room and be back in a second."

Frank and the Doctor watched as the Jacks disappeared around a corner. They turned to each other with unsureness.

"He can usually quick." The Doctor told Frank, "We'll just wait for him before taking him back to his time, again."

"Does that happen often?" Frank asked, bouncing on his toes just slightly.

The Doctor laughed, "Occasionally. Although, it feels like it's been awhile."

The Doctor and Frank made more casual small talk before Jack reappeared, the unconscious figure now gone from his arms. "I think I'm ready."

"You think? I know I'm ready! These pants are a bit tight for my taste..." Frank muttered, tugging at the waistline of his pants.

"They look fantastic, though." The Doctor said quickly before looking at Jack, "We're parked over this way!"

The Doctor hurried off, leaving Frank and Jack in the dust. Frank watched him go, not really sure what he was feeling anymore. He jolted back to reality with a nudge from Jack, who gave him a small smile.

"He's good at creating crushes, hard at giving that sort of affection back." He winked before walking past Frank. "He's sometimes seems blind to it, honestly."

"Not with you." Frank said as Jack spun on his heels to face the shorter human.

"Because I'm captain Jack Harkness!" He exclaimed, throwing his hands in the air. "I have a reputation to uphold. Now come on, hot dog."

"Hot Dog?" Frank questioned, beginning to walk over to where Jack was.

Jack shrugged, "Frank, hot dog, you don't see it? Nickname's, my good sir."

"They're supposed to be shorter than the original."

"Longer things are more fun anyway."

The two followed the hall before ending up in the alley where the tardis was waiting. They stepped in, Jack holding the door for Frank, and shut the door softly.

The Doctor peeked around the controls with a wave. "On the way back!"

"Did they miss me?" Jack asked, grinning up at the Doctor.

"The man seemed very keen on your location."

"Ah, Ianto. I'm going to owe him for a scare like this." Jack nodded to himself as the noise of the Tardis filled the air. Jack smiled at the noise, looking up at the ceiling as Frank made his way up the steps to the control panel.

Frank leaned against the railing and observed the Doctor. The time lord was always moving, as if sitting still would be a death sentence. Frank's mind drifted to death at that thought. How could the Doctor die if he had that regeneration thing on his side? The whole, new face thing that Jack and the Doctor had both mentioned... He'd have to ask...

"Here we are!" The Doctor said, reaching up and twisting a knob on a higher part of the controls. "Cardiff, your time, and in hopes of running into you again. Under better circumstances, I hope."

Jack opened the door of the tardis. He looked ready to go, but he turned to look up at the Doctor. "I'll be seeing you again soon, Doctor." Jack winked as he leaned against the tardis doorframe.

"You seem pretty sure of it." The Doctor said, crossing his arms. "How soon?"

"Sooner than you think." Jack winked once again, but this time in Frank's direction, before disappearing. The tardis door shut lightly, leaving the Doctor and Frank alone.

"Such a tease, Harkness..." The Doctor muttered, shaking his head. He looked over at Frank, immediately growing a smile on his face. "So, Frankie, all of time and space is at your fingertips."

Frank laughed, pushing himself off the railing to walk over to the Doctor. "My fingertips?"

"Well, mine, but I'll let you choose where we go." The Doctor replied a bit sheepishly, "So tell me, Frankie," Confidence was building back in his tone as Frank stood beside him, "Where would you like to start?"
