Arjun's POV

I instructed the cook to make a hot chocolate just the way my sister likes it. I know hot chocolate is not going to put out the fire I started because Sam was still giving me a cold shoulder but hey, I know my sister better than she knows herself so I know I am going to fix this.

Radhika is such a worrier, she kept emphasizing on anger is the root of all evils and I should control it. I have been ordered to keep a check on my words and that's what I am going to do.

I knocked on my Sister's door, a rule I follow religiously from the time she got her first period. Man! That time was a pain in my ass!

"Come in."

I recognized from her voice that she has been crying and it hurts to accept the fact that I am responsible for those tears.

"I brought you hot chocolate."

"Why? I didn't ask you to and I don't want to talk to you so please leave me alone."

Man, I am a Mafia man. I kill, torture, make beautiful cuts on people's body but this girl here could talk back to me and get away with it because I love her so much and she takes advantage of that love by all means.

I placed the cup on the side table and got seated on her bed beside her," I know you don't want to talk to me and I know you are angry with me but you have to understand that this was a shock to me. My own best friend and my sister! What the fuck were you thinking?! That I will throw a party?!"

She kept quiet but I knew she was breathing fire so I calmed myself down.

"Sammy, when you were born, your mother said that it's such an unfortunate thing that she is never going to have Father's love but I told her that she will have her big brother who will love her more than his own life. I did love you more than my own life and I protected you from everything and everyone that would cause any kind of harm to you."

"You know when you say things like these, it gets difficult to be mad at you but I am not happy with you right now."

"Sam, show me one man that is okay with his sister dating a manwhore?"

She frowned, "You were one...."

"I am the biggest hypocrite ever, see what I might do if I have a daughter but the point is that I won't deny the fact that Mathew is someone I trust with my life and he knows I will kill him if he ever breaks your heart."

"So we are okay?" She asked smilingly.

"Well there are rules that you have to follow."

"Hey! I am an adult and I don't need to follow any rules!"

"Then have fun being single and in your own bed for the rest of your life."

"God! You are so mean!"

"First rule, no sex and I mean it. How long are you guys going to date before you marry?"

"Bhai, that's none of your business!"

I smirked, "I asked you nicely, you want me to ask him and I promise I won't be so nice."

"Fine he thinks I need to make a career and he doesn't want marriage to distract me from my career."

"Well you can have a career after marriage but of course it's upto you. Mathew makes a lot of money so in case you...."

She cuts me off,"No! I want a career and he is fine with it."

"Fine, he can stay with us if you are going to marry him."

"I don't get a say in this?"

"No you don't, look Sam I am not going to relinquish you to him, I am going to share you. Let him be a part of your life but he can't take my sister away from me plus I am building our home again so there will be plenty of room for two of you and any children that you might...."

Her eyes widened in shock,"We just started dating! Please can we not talk about kids?!"

"Fine, just making it clear."

"Bhai, can I ask you something?"

"You can ask me, but if I think I don't want to answer your question then I will not answer it."

"Did Mathew have any serious relationship in the past? Given the fact that you have spend your entire life with him, I thought you must know all this about him."

"Sam, I am not going to rattle on my best friend."

I know I must be smirking at her without meaning to do so but I can't help it. I and Mathew have some crazy shit and there are some things you can't tell your wife or your girlfriend.

"Please I tried to wheedle it out of him but he said it doesn't matter but I want to know."

"Sam, I said no and you should listen to him. He said it doesn't matter so it doesn't

"Fine but you know everything about him, don't you?"

"As a matter of fact I do."

"And you are not going to tell me?"

"Sam, he is my best friend and I don't gossip, you know it."

"Okay, fine but can I go out with him tonight?"

"You can but tell him if he doesn't drop you home before 7 then remind him people are dropping like flies in our world so....."

"You are not going to kill him so quit threatening me and can I come back home by 8?"

"Sam, don't push it!" I warned her.

"Oh please, you use to come home by 3 or sometimes you didn't even use to show up."

"I am a guy so you say one more word and I make it 6."

"Fine, 7 it is then."

"Tell him to keep his hands off you or I won't mind ripping them off his body in that way I can still keep him alive."

"Fine! My time will come too and I will pay you back with interest when you have a daughter. I will help her rebel against you."

We will see about that when the time comes.

"Sammy, are we good now?"

"You are not going to spy on us?!"

I smiled,"I don't have to, I trust the man so...."

She glares at me,"And you don't trust me?!"

"You are stupid and impulsive, he is not or else he wouldn't have been my friend." I answered her.

"Just leave me alone."

"Happy to." I countered as I took to my heel but she ran towards me and jumped on me like koala bear.

It's a good thing, I work out because my sister isn't as light as she looks.

"I didn't say thank you and I love you."

"Sammy, work on your weight! Can't believe you work out everyday!"

"You are such an ass! My weight is just 57 kgs and in case you forget I am 5'7."

"You have said thank you and I accept it. Can I put you down now?"

Actually to be honest she isn't that heavy buy Hey, I deserve to have some fun.

"Fine put me down."

"Laters sis." I said as I set her down on her feet and left her room and rolled my eyes when I heard her screaming out of excitement like a crazy woman.

Time to see what the wife is doing as I haven't seen her since morning since I left the room to work out and I want see her once before I leave for work.

"Hey." I greeted her as I entered inside.

"Hi, where were you?" She asked as she lifted her head up from the book she was reading.

"With Sam." I answered as I pulled out a crisp black shirt from the wardrobe.

"So how did it go?" She asked enthusiastically.

"It was nice although I still don't know how I feet about my little sister dating...."

She cuts me off, "Oh common! She has dated before...."

My eyes widened in shock,"She has? How come I don't know? I am going to fire her bodyguards right now...."

"She isn't that stupid as you think she is, give her some credit and if it makes you feel any better, nothing serious."

"Not serious means casual and it means...."

She banged her book on her head lightly, "Oh God! Why did I open my mouth?! She hasn't done it and please cut her some slack, she is turning twenty one this year."

"Fine, I will drop it." I lifted my hands up in surrender, finally deciding to let go.

"You know if hypocrisy would have a face, it would totally be yours." She taunted.

"Guilty as charged and just for future reference, don't throw in those words not serious just like that. It doesn't have a good reputation especially when associated with a lady." I said, buttoning up my shirt.

I sensed her behind me as she looked at my reflection in the mirror.

"These are just words, Arjun. It's the people who attach meaning to it and its not really a fair to condemn a woman for something and applaud a man for the same."

"Baby, you are right and I get it that it's not fair but it is what it is."

"I don't want to discuss this, where are you heading off to?"

"Duty calls, I will see you at night." I said giving her a quick kiss.

Her face fell,"That long? But I thought Mark was filling in for you till the time I am pregnant."

"Radhika, he can't fill in for everything."

"Well it's nice that I am being informed last minute."

I stared at her coldly,"Did you hear me taking your permission? Don't be ridiculous, I wasn't asking you. I was telling you that I have some work that needs my attention."

She turned her face away in anger but soon there will be tears so I better handle this well. Maybe I was being an ass but I just never had to ask anyone for anything, I never asked permission maybe initially I did use to run things by Mark but mostly it was just telling and not asking.

I turned her face towards me, grabbing her chin," I am sorry."

Her eyes softened," I just miss you."

"I am here, baby always just a call away and I actually had something that I wanted to show you. Hold on for a minute." 

I pulled out the file from my locker and handed it over to her. She took it from me curiously and her eyes widened in shock as she looked through the file.

Tears formed in her eyes,"Oh my God! You are rebuilding our house?!

"Hell yeah, I know I told you that I will make another home for you and for the family but somehow ironically I am too attached to that place myself." I wiped her tears away with my hand.

"Its where you were born and brought up of course the place."

"I have good and bad memories with the house but I couldn't just walk away letting it lie in ruins. Mamma wouldn't be too happy with that had she been alive."

"I know, I understand." She said placing her hand on mine.

I looked straight in to her eyes,"Are you happy? You know if you want a new house then...."

She breaks in on me,"Can't you tell by looking at my face? I am so happy and everyone is going to be happy too when they hear it." Her face lit up like a Christmas tree and her smile was contagious.

"Have your lunch on time." I reminded her.

"Yes Sir ."

I leaned in, kissed her forehead but she looked at me longingly," Look at how far we have come. I told you that you have good inside you and you never believed me...."

I shook my head," I still don't believe you about that thing. My dear, I have come too far in life and its too late for me to change. Now let me go or else I will be late."

She caught my hand, curling her pretty fingers around my wrist," I love you, Arjun."

The way she was innocently staring at me and the way she confessed her feelings made me feel weak in my knees.

I gently pulled my hand out of her grip and left without looking back at her because if I did I know I would melt looking at that beautiful face. I am a man on mission to find the man who destroyed my life, my family, my happiness when I was a child. That man gave me ugly scars to live with and if only they had been on my body, it would have been easy but they were on my soul.

I sat in my dorm, with Mathew and Mark in front of me. We were discussing our plan of action to lay a trap for that Fucking bastard and his rat.

Mark frowned,"Arjun, we don't have any information on them, it's like they disappeared in thin air. You think they left the country?"

I shook my head at his suggestion, "No they didn't because I would have put a stop to it before that would have happened. We have our eyes and ears everywhere, I would have got a tip."

"So now what?" Mathew asked.

"Actually I have an idea but it's too risky."

I have a plan but I just don't feel good about it.

"How risky?!" Mark asked right away.

I looked up at him, staring right into his eyes,"Rehan loves Radhika, she is his daughter and if we use her as a bait, he will be out of his hole sooner than later."

Mark smiled,"That's fantastic! We should do it then...."

It's not right, I should not. My newborn heart vetoed my idea.

"No, I don't think so its safe for her....."

"Arjun, this is our only chance, we don't have any other leverage over him and you know it." Mark opposed me.

"So do we tell her or not?" Mathew queried.

"Arjun, she is his daughter and she doesn't have what it takes to trap her fucking daddy. In my opinion she is a weakness...."

"Mark! Don't you dare!" I warned him.

"Fine, she is too soft and she is not wary of the ways of this world. You have coddled her too much just like her fucking daddy."

That I do because I believe women shouldn't be involved in these bloody wars where it could get really ugly and I love Radhika too much to gift her nightmares to live with.

"I don't feel good about using her this way."

I am enticed and repulsed by my idea at the same time. I am in two frame of minds, I want to do it and I don't want to do it. I picturize her innocent face in front of me and it gives me a chill down my spine. She won't do it, she won't be able to do it out of fear maybe out of love for her fucking Father. You can't just unlove someone just because you realize that person is a fucking  monster, can you?

"She is innocent and it's too much...."

"Your mother was innocent too! Did that stop that bastard from doing what he did to your mother? You have done nothing in comparison to him! You married his daughter for revenge and then your pathetic ass fell in love with her and now you are glued to her hip! Way to go, Son!"

I protested,"She is innocent and...."

"I am not saying she is not but this is our only chance and if you want to spoil it just because you are too much of a pussy then...."

"Fine! We will do it but if anything happens to her then...."

Mathew interrupted,"Arjun, don't listen to him! At least think about the fact that she is pregnant!"

Mark stared me right in the eye,"So what? I sacrificed my girlfriend who was pregnant with my child to save you years ago! I could have traded you in exchange of her when they had her kidnapped! I chose you over the woman I loved and who was pregnant with my baby! I chose to honor the promise I made to your mother to keep you safe! I have given my whole life to this family, to you and you can't take this small risk!"

I was tongue-tied as if I lost my speech. I know I am indebted to this man and I can never repay him in this birth. I can't say no, I won't be able to look him in the eye ever again if I say no.

I took a deep breath and swallowed the lump in my throat, " We will do this. She will be surrounded by our best men undercover. Nothing will happen to her." I hope and pray that nothing goes wrong.

Mark placed his hand on my shoulder and his cold eyes softened.

"It's for your mother and you took an oath to avenge her. Do I need to remind you what that man did to your mother? Do I need to remind you how he had her raped and killed right in front of your eyes?"

"No, Sir we will do it."

"And Radhika?" Mathew asked.

"We don't tell her but make sure she is surrounded by our best men under covers."

"So it's settled now, I have some business to attend. See you later." Mark left the room.

Mathew looked at me,"Arjun, she won't take it well when she gets to know. Mark doesn't understand this because he doesn't care but you...."

I cut him off angrily, "I should care? That man had my mother raped and killed right in front of my eyes? He destroyed my whole life! He took that one person away who I loved the most in this entire world! You really think I should worry about Radhika feeling betrayed after all this?"

"I hope you know what you are doing and you are ready to bear the repercussions of the same."

His words knocked the air out of my lungs and before I could reply, he left the room. It was almost time for him to pick Sam up for their date. I closed my eyes and went back in time to reminisce my memories with my mother and I gathered the will and strength to lie to that sweet girl who told me that she loves me inspite of everything I did.

I am sorry, baby but I don't have any other option, you would have never agreed to be a part of this and this might be my last chance. I hope you find it in your big heart to forgive me but this is about my mother and I can't let this chance go.
