Chapter 25

Two years had passed since their wedding, and Sara was now six months pregnant. It was early in the morning, and Shubman, the CEO of his company, had returned home in the middle of the night due to a heavy workload. He was still sleeping soundly, but Sara lay awake, unable to rest because she missed Shubman's usual comforting cuddle.

Sara sighed and glanced at the clock, seeing the early morning hours slowly ticking by. She gently nudged Shubman, hoping he would wake up and cuddle her.

"Shub, wake up," she whispered, giving his shoulder a soft shake.

Shubman stirred slightly but didn't wake up. Sara tried again, this time a bit more persistent. "Shub, please wake up. I need you."

He mumbled something incoherent and turned over, still deep in sleep. Sara's frustration began to rise, fueled by her pregnancy hormones. She nudged him harder.

"Shubman!" she said, her voice a bit louder now. "Wake up! I need you to hold me."

Shubman groaned and opened his eyes slightly, blinking in the dim light. "Sara, it's too early," he muttered, barely conscious.

Sara's irritation flared. "You've been gone all night, and I couldn't sleep. I need you to cuddle me," she said, her voice wavering with emotion.

Finally, Shubman sat up, rubbing his eyes. "Alright, alright, I'm up," he said, trying to shake off the sleep. He wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close. "I'm here, Sara. I'm sorry."

Sara nestled into his embrace, feeling the warmth and comfort she had been craving. Her irritation began to melt away as she felt his familiar presence.

"Thank you," she murmured, snuggling closer. "I just missed you."

Shubman kissed the top of her head, holding her tightly. "I missed you too," he said softly. "I'm sorry for not being here."

As they lay there together, Sara's heart finally began to calm. Shubman's embrace was exactly what she needed to feel secure and loved, despite the whirlwind of emotions and hormones she was experiencing.

As they lay together, Sara's emotions continued to shift. She pulled back slightly, looking up at Shubman with a mix of relief and frustration.

"You know," she began, her voice a bit shaky, "sometimes it feels like I'm doing this all alone. You're so busy with work, and I'm here, pregnant and feeling everything so intensely."

Shubman's heart ached at her words. "I'm so sorry, Sara," he said gently. "I know it's been hard, and I hate that I've been away so much. I promise I'll try to be here more for you."

Sara's eyes filled with tears, and she quickly wiped them away, feeling embarrassed. "I know you're trying," she said, her voice softening. "It's just these hormones. They make everything feel so overwhelming."

Shubman held her face in his hands, looking into her eyes. "We're in this together, okay? No matter what. I'm here for you, and I'll do everything I can to make it easier."

Sara nodded, feeling a mix of gratitude and lingering frustration. "I just need you to understand how hard this is for me," she said, her voice breaking slightly.

"I do," Shubman assured her. "And I'm going to be better. For you and our baby."

Sara's emotions shifted again, this time to a wave of love and appreciation for her husband. She hugged him tightly, burying her face in his chest. "Thank you," she whispered. "I love you so much."

"I love you too," Shubman replied, stroking her hair gently. "More than anything."

For a while, they lay there in silence, just holding each other. The comfort of Shubman's presence helped Sara's mood stabilize, though she knew the rollercoaster of emotions was far from over.

As the morning light began to filter through the curtains, Shubman kissed her forehead. "How about I make us some breakfast?" he suggested, hoping to lift her spirits even more.

Sara smiled, feeling a surge of affection for him. "That sounds wonderful," she said. "I could definitely use some pancakes."

Shubman chuckled. "Pancakes it is," he said, getting up and heading to the kitchen.

As he started to prepare breakfast, Sara sat up in bed, feeling a bit more at ease. The sight of Shubman bustling around the kitchen, making an effort just for her, brought a sense of normalcy and comfort. She knew that no matter how tough things got, they would get through it together.

As Shubman cooked, Sara's mood began to shift again. She could smell the pancakes and hear the sizzling, but suddenly, an inexplicable wave of irritation washed over her. She got out of bed, wrapping herself in a robe, and waddled into the kitchen.

"Shubman," she snapped, "why are you taking so long? I'm starving!"

Shubman looked up, startled by her sudden change in tone. "I'm almost done, love. Just a few more minutes."

Sara crossed her arms, her face a mixture of impatience and frustration. "You always say that! I feel like I've been waiting forever."

"I'm sorry," Shubman said calmly, flipping a pancake. "I'm doing my best to hurry."

Sara huffed, feeling tears prick at the corners of her eyes. "It's just that everything is so hard right now. I can't control how I feel, and I'm so tired and hungry!"

Shubman turned off the stove and walked over to her, placing his hands on her shoulders. "I know, Sara. I know it's tough. I'm here, and I'm trying to help."

She shrugged off his hands, her emotions swinging again. "But it doesn't feel like it sometimes! I need you to understand how hard this is for me. Being pregnant is not easy, and you just don't get it!"

Shubman took a deep breath, keeping his voice calm. "I'm sorry, Sara. I really am. I can't fully understand what you're going through, but I'm trying my best to be here for you. Please, let's just sit down and have breakfast, okay?"

Sara's anger turned into guilt. She could see the effort Shubman was putting in, and she hated that her emotions were causing so much tension. "I'm sorry, Shub," she said, her voice breaking. "I don't mean to be like this. It's just so hard."

Shubman hugged her gently. "It's okay. I understand. Let's sit down and eat, and then we can talk about whatever you need."

They moved to the table, and Shubman served the pancakes. As they ate, Sara's mood began to stabilize again, the comfort of the meal and Shubman's presence helping to ease her frustration.

"I really do appreciate everything you do for me," she said quietly, looking at him with teary eyes. "I'm sorry for snapping at you."

Shubman reached across the table and took her hand. "I know, Sara. It's okay. We're going to get through this together. I love you."

"I love you too," she replied, squeezing his hand. "Thanks for being so patient with me."

Shubman smiled, his heart full of love for his wife. "Always, Sara. Always."
