Chapter 2

Sara woke up with a burst of energy, her alarm clock echoing through her cozy bedroom. The sun streamed through the curtains, casting a warm glow on her room filled with posters and books. She stretched, feeling a sense of anticipation for the day ahead. Today was important, and she wanted to look her best.

With careful consideration, Sara chose her outfit: a ribbed, button-up cardigan in a vivid shade of green that complemented her bright eyes and brought out her natural glow. The V-neckline added a touch of sophistication, while the fitted design highlighted her torso beautifully. She paired it with white pants that hugged her legs snugly, made from a stretchable fabric that ensured both comfort and style. To complete her ensemble, she added large hoop earrings that dangled elegantly, making a bold fashion statement.

Feeling satisfied with her appearance, Sara picked up her bag and made her way downstairs. She was greeted by the familiar sight of, Ayesha, bustling around the kitchen.

"Good morning, sweetheart," Ayesha said, her voice filled with warmth as she handed Sara a plate of breakfast.

Sara hugged her mother tightly. "Morning, Mom. Thanks for breakfast. I'm a little nervous about today."

"You'll do great, honey. Just be yourself," Ayesha replied, smiling reassuringly.

After a quick breakfast, Sara said goodbye and headed out the door. Her driver was already waiting, ready to take her to college. As the car moved through the bustling city streets, Sara's mind raced with a wicked idea she had been mulling over for a while.

Upon arriving at college, she spotted her group of friends—her gang—and quickly shared her plan with them. They exchanged mischievous glances and nodded in agreement, the excitement palpable.

The morning classes went by in a blur. Shubman submitted his assignment dutifully, and soon after, the professor began the lecture. However, the real challenge lay ahead: the presentation that the Fusion Five, had worked tirelessly on. They were doing the final touch-ups when a frantic boy from their class ran up to Shubman.

"Shubman, Tunisha is injured!" he exclaimed, breathless and wide-eyed.

Without a second thought, Shubman bolted from his seat, leaving his laptop and the crucial pendrive connected. Sara watched him disappear down the hall, then quietly made her move. She approached the laptop, her heart pounding in her chest, and swiftly erased the files from the pendrive.

Moments later, Shubman returned, a look of determination on his face. "Guys, ready?" he asked, trying to mask his earlier panic. Everyone nodded, and they headed towards the presentation room where their teachers were waiting.

As Ashnoor plugged in the pendrive, her face fell. "Shub, can you come here for a second?" she called out, her voice tinged with worry.

Shubman hurried over. "What's wrong?"

"The file... it's not here," Ashnoor whispered, her voice trembling.

"What? That can't be! I was just checking it," Shubman replied, his eyes wide with shock.

Abhishek inspected the situation and sighed. "Guys, we are in deep trouble."

The professor, sensing the commotion, demanded, "Mr. Malhotra, where is your project?"

Shubman stammered, "Ma'am, it was right there. I swear."

The professor's stern gaze pierced through him. "Did it disappear into thin air? Fifty marks deducted from your examination. I will be calling your father today."

Shubman's face turned pale with disbelief and anger. The weight of his failure pressed heavily on him as the professor called the next group. He sank back into his seat, his friends around him visibly disappointed.

As the class ended, Shubman changed into his sportswear, hoping to find solace in basketball. He dribbled the ball with intensity, trying to channel his frustration.

Sara sauntered over, a smug look on her face. "What happened, Malhotra? You seem angry," she taunted.

"Get lost, Sara. This rivalry is between me and Shivaay. You didn't have to get involved and ruin everything today," Shubman snapped, his voice filled with rage.

Shivaay, who had been lurking nearby, stepped in. "Stop blaming her, Malhotra. It's your fault."

Shubman clenched his fists, ready to throw a punch, but Abhishek and Kamlesh restrained him. Kartikey smirked. "Learn some self-control, Malhotra."

Abhishek shot back, "Shut up, Malviya. We're not wasting our energy on you."

Shubman broke free from his friends' grip, stepping closer to Shivaay. "You and your little gang will pay for this," he spat, throwing the basketball with frustration before storming off.

As he walked towards his car, Tunisha and Ashnoor caught up to him, their faces etched with concern. "What happened, Shubman?" they asked in unison.

He recounted the day's events, their expressions shifting from shock to anger. Tunisha's jaw clenched, and Ashnoor glared at Shivaay as he walked by.

When Shubman finally reached home, his mother, Rimma, greeted him. "Shub—"

"MA, I AM NOT INTERESTED!" Shubman interrupted, his voice cracking with emotion.

Sidharth, stepped in. "Shub, mind your tone. She is your mother."

"Please, just leave me alone, bhai," Shubman pleaded, his voice softer now.

In his room, Shubman sat down and opened his laptop, trying to salvage the remnants of his day. Siddharth joined him, concern etched on his face. "What happened, Shub?"

"I'm fine, bhai," Shubman muttered, not meeting his brother's eyes.

Sidharth closed the laptop gently. "I'm your older brother, Shub. Tell me what's going on."

Reluctantly, Shubman explained everything. Sidharth listened patiently, then offered advice. "I won't interfere, but handle this carefully, okay?"

Shubman nodded, appreciating his brother's support. Later, he apologized to his mother, "I'm sorry, Ma. I was just really angry."

Rimma smiled, kissing his forehead. "It's okay, Shub. I know you're under a lot of stress."

That evening, they enjoyed a family dinner, filled with laughter as Kiara and Sidharth shared stories from their latest adventures. Shubman felt a bit lighter, the warmth of his family's love soothing his troubled mind.

Before bed, Shubman meticulously worked on his presentation, saving it on both his primary and backup pendrives. As he finally drifted off to sleep, he felt a renewed sense of determination, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

Meanwhile, Sara reached home with a spring in her step. The day had gone exactly as planned, and she felt triumphant. As she opened the door, she was greeted by Tiger, her older brother, who had just returned from his shoots.

"Bhai, why didn't you come earlier?" Sara asked, throwing her arms around him in a warm hug.

Tiger chuckled and ruffled her hair affectionately. "I had shoots lined up, Sara. You know how it is. But I'm here now, and I've got some great stories to tell."

They moved to the living room, where Sara sank into the plush sofa, feeling the weight of the day's excitement. Ayesha, their mother, entered the room with a gentle smile, her eyes crinkling with love.

"Sara, it's already midnight. You should be asleep by now," Ayesha chided softly, her voice filled with maternal concern.

Sara nodded, knowing her mother was right. "Okay, Mom. Goodnight."

She headed to her room, her heart still racing from the day's events. Sitting on her bed, she noticed her phone buzzing with messages from her Five Dynamics group. She opened the chat and found a stream of excited messages. Sara grinned, typing back her replies as she relived the day's triumphs.

After a while, she set her phone aside and began her nightly skincare routine. She took her time, enjoying the soothing ritual that helped her unwind. The feel of the cool creams and serums on her skin was calming, a perfect way to end the day.

Finally, she slipped into her cozy pajamas and climbed into bed. The events of the day played in her mind like a thrilling movie. She turned off the lights, her room bathed in the soft glow of the moonlight. As she lay there, she couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and apprehension for what tomorrow might bring.

With a contented sigh, she closed her eyes, letting the peacefulness of the night lull her to sleep, a small smile still lingering on her lips.
