Chapter 19

Shubman was still deep in sleep when Rimma gently shook him. "Baccha, get up quickly," she urged.

Shubman groaned, rubbing his eyes. "Mumma, please let me sleep in. It's the weekend."

Rimma chuckled, ruffling his hair. "It's Friday today, not the weekend. Get ready and go to college."

Shubman glanced at his phone, realizing she was right, and bolted out of bed. He rushed to the bathroom, brushing his teeth and taking a quick shower. Emerging from the bathroom, he threw on a black t-shirt with a graphic design of white lightning bolts emanating from a central point, paired with classic-fit blue jeans that were neither too tight nor too loose.

Hurrying to college, Shubman was relieved to find that classes were in session and he hadn't missed anything. He slipped into his classroom just in time, as the lecturer had yet to arrive.

After college, Shubman noticed Abhishek was nowhere to be seen. He approached Kamlesh, curious. "Where did Abhishek go?" he asked.

Kamlesh shrugged. "He mentioned he had some work to take care of."

Shubman nodded, feeling a bit puzzled but decided not to dwell on it. He joined the rest of his friends, the Fusion Five, at their usual spot near the campus cafe. They spent some time chatting and discussing their plans for the weekend.

"So, what's everyone up to this weekend?" Kartikey asked, taking a sip of his iced coffee.

Ashnoor shrugged. "I have a family event to attend. What about you, Shubman?"

Shubman thought for a moment. "Not sure yet. Maybe some extra practice and catching up on assignments."

Tunisha nudged him playfully. "You and your basketball. Take a break sometimes, you know?"

Shubman laughed. "I'll try."

Just then, Sara appeared, looking radiant as always. She joined them, her presence lighting up Shubman's mood instantly.

"Hey guys," she greeted everyone before turning to Shubman. "Can we talk for a minute?"

Shubman nodded and followed her to a quieter spot on campus. "What's up, Sara?"

Sara looked a bit hesitant but then smiled. "I was thinking, since it's Friday, how about we do something fun tonight? Maybe go for dinner and a movie?"

Shubman's face lit up. "That sounds great! I could use a break."

Sara's smile widened. "Great! Let's meet at 7 PM? I'll pick the movie."

Shubman agreed, feeling excited about their evening plans. They rejoined their friends, and after a while, everyone started heading home. Shubman decided to head back to his place to freshen up and prepare for the evening.

Back at home, Shubman was greeted by Rimma and Sunil, who were sitting in the living room with Kiara and Sidharth.

"How was college, Shub?" Sidharth asked.

Shubman smiled. "It was good, bhai. Busy, as usual."

Rimma noticed the excitement in Shubman's eyes. "You seem happy. Any special plans for tonight?"

Shubman shook his head. "Nothing special, just going out for a  dinner and a movie."

Rimma's eyes twinkled. "That sounds lovely. Have a great time!"

Shubman went to his room to freshen up, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. He chose a clean, casual outfit: a dark blue button-up shirt and beige chinos, completing the look with his favorite sneakers. He checked the time and saw he had a little while before he needed to leave.

He sat on his bed, thinking about the day and feeling grateful for his friends and family. Despite the morning rush and the intense practice, the day had turned out well. He was looking forward to spending the evening with Sara, knowing it would be a perfect way to unwind.

At 7 PM sharp, Shubman arrived at the cafe where he and Sara had planned to meet. She was already there, looking stunning in a casual yet chic outfit. They greeted each other with a warm hug.

"You look amazing," Shubman said, admiring her.

Sara blushed slightly. "Thank you. You look great too!"

They headed to a nearby restaurant, enjoying a delicious meal and lively conversation. The atmosphere was perfect, and they felt completely at ease with each other.

After dinner, they walked to the cinema. Sara had chosen a romantic comedy, and they settled into their seats, sharing a tub of popcorn. Throughout the movie, they laughed and occasionally glanced at each other, enjoying the shared experience.

When the movie ended, they strolled hand in hand through the quiet streets, the cool evening air wrapping around them like a comforting blanket.

"Tonight was perfect," Sara said softly, looking up at Shubman.

"It really was," Shubman agreed, squeezing her hand gently. "Thank you for this. I needed it."

They paused near a small park, the streetlights casting a warm glow around them. Shubman turned to Sara, feeling a surge of affection. "Sara, you mean a lot to me. I just wanted you to know that."

Sara smiled, her eyes sparkling. "You mean a lot to me too, Shubman."

They stood there for a moment, wrapped in each other's arms, feeling the world around them fade away. As they slowly leaned in, their lips met in a soft, tender kiss, sealing the perfect evening with a moment of pure connection and love.

Eventually, they pulled back, still holding each other close. "I should get you home," Shubman said, his voice gentle.

Sara nodded. "Yes, but let's take our time."

They walked back slowly, savoring every moment of the night, knowing that this was just the beginning of something truly special between them.
