Chapter 7: Annabeth's POV
Sorry for not updating lately. I have had so much to do, But I DIDN'T forget. Don't think that I did. A couple shoutouts before I start the chapter: To Ahey_23 for mentioning me in her story Percabeth Betrayed. For those of you who don't read it, please check it out. It is amazing!! To Zoe-is-da-best congratulations and thank you for welcoming me into your Wattpad family!! I'm so honored!!! To BeautyMcQueen for being my first Wattpad family member!!! Now, for the story!!!
I woke up in the morning, disoriented, and not knowing where I was. I yawn and stretch my arms, before it all comes rushing back to me. Cuddling with Percy, watching the sunset, talking until the wee hours of the morning. I lean over, and realize that I am on his bed, and he is on the bed across the cabin. I smile, and think of how cute he looks asleep.
As is sensing me, his eyes open, and he smiles back. He sits up in the other bed, and motions for me to come over to him. I walk over to him and sit down on the edge of the bed. He pull a box wrapped in red. I squeal a little when I see the red wrapping paper, and my name written in Percy's horrible handwriting. That was one of the things I had to get over when I started dating him. What? I'm a daughter of Athena! I like things neat. Anyway. He hands it to me and says, "Happy Birthday, Annabeth!!"
I jump up, hitting my head on the bed, (I envision the beds being bunk beds on this one, and Percy's having the top bunk taken off so that he can look out of the window to see the ocean) and then groan.
"It's my birthday!!" I say, while rubbing the sore spot on my head.
"Yep. And you know what that means!!" Percy says, a twinkle in his eye. I involuntarily groan. The birthday celebrations during the summer at Camp Half-Blood means you have to head the group in Capture the Flag, and if you win, you get to sit wherever you want for birthday dessert and storytelling, but if you lose, you have to lead the camp in songs at the Amphitheater, and you have to sit in the infamous "Birthday" chair.
He hands me the box wrapped in red, and smiles one of his smiles. When I see him smile, I have a momentary panic attack!! What if he put fake spiders in the box? Or worse, real ones?? I calm myself down, and then pull off the wrapping paper, throwing it onto the floor.
"Gee, thanks." Percy says, staring at his now wrapping paper covered floor.
"Watch it, Seaweed Brain." I say back. I open the box, and inside sits a golden bracelet with two names engraved on it, surrounded by little hearts.
"Annabeth and Percy." I whisper. Percy leans over, and gives me a kiss on the cheek. I envelop him in a hug. He grabs my hand and takes me over to his mirror. We stand, looking at each other and smiling. He drops my hand and checks his watch.
"It's almost time for the wake up horn!! Go get dressed! We can continue this later!" Percy says, before pushing me out the door. The door shuts behind me, and I drop to the floor, sitting with my back against it. I wrap my arms around me, and smile.
This birthday is off to a great start!
