Chapter Sixteen
"But I can't dance," I defended. Lucy, Kristine , Eros and I were standing there, in front of the choreographer, in the rehearsal room, where they had practically dragged me to come.
"It doesn't matter, you're dancing and that's final," Lucy pressed, adamant about making me dance. I sighed. I guess I couldn't help it now.
We were preparing for the function we had planned for Heather, the day before her wedding. The choreaographer said, "Okay, now just follow".
He showed us a few steps, and I followed. They seemed easy , so I could do them.
Lucy, Eros and Kristine stood there staring at me in disbelief.
"What?," I asked.
" WE THOUGHT YOU SAID YOU COULDN'T DANCE!," they shouted in unison.

"Then, we will proceed towards the couple dance,"the choreographer informed. We nodded.
"So, hold you partner and follow me," he ended.
I held Lucy by her waist, my free hand in hers. I smiled. I took turns, dancing around the room, slowly, lost in her eyes. We weren't even seeing the choreographer was doing. I looked at her beautiful face, feeling this immense happiness inside me on being with her. I held her close to me, looking into her eyes. I realized how much I was , had been, attracted to her, ever since I'd met her. I love her. I love Lucy. Her presence in my life was like a home to a pilgrim, a family for an orphan, a little home in the sea for a lost fish. She is, and had always been my one and only.
"Will you both follow me ?," the choreographer scolded. We pulled away, embarrassed.
"How romantic," Kristine teased. Lucy blushed. They laughed, and I smiled at Lucy.
The next few hours were spent , practising our steps. "We're over for today. We'll meet tomorrow, same time," the choreographer said and left.
We dragged ourselves towards the chairs.
"God, I'm so tired!," Kristine exclaimed.
"So am I," Lucy said in agreement. I sat beside her, talking to them.
"Yeah, I know. We've had exercise for good," Eros replied, sipping water from his bottle. I nodded.
We chatted for a while , and Eros and Kristine left.
We both sat in silence for some time. I looked at Lucy. She was staring at the floor below, her eyes welling up.
"Hey," I said, shifting closer to her."What's wrong?"
She shook her head, unable to speak.
"It's Heather, isn't it ?," I said, before throwing her arms around her. I knew her well, I could almost read her through her eyes. Tears fell from her eyes, as she hugged me back.
"I'll miss her , Blake. I really will. I love her," she said.
"It's okay, Lucy .. It really is," I said. I wiped off the tear on her cheek. She shifted closer to me, her arms around me, her head resting on my shoulder. I felt her soft hair below my chin, her sweet smell filled in the air. I love her, and I'll tell her that soon. We stayed there for a while, not wanted to pull away. Though we did, gradually.
"I hate to see you cry," I said, softly. "And your nose turns red when you do that"
She smile spread across her face as she giggled.
"That's so much more better," I said, smiling back.

The week passed faster than I had expected. Alot of rituals had taken place, and Lucy was alot busy. I couldn't talk to her much.
The day before the function, Lucy and I checked on the final arrangements. The hall looked good. It was decorated in red and white flowers, white chairs around small tables and curtains. Even the cutlery was white and red. The stage was huge, with all kinds of lights on it. The workers were arranging the bottles and the plates in their respective places, with Mrs.Goodwin and Mr.Goodwin guiding them in each step. The place looked beautiful, almost magical, as if wizards had caste a spell on that place for it's aura was relaxing. The place in the whole, looked like an artist's masterpiece on the canvas.
"I guess it looks fine,",Lucy said, turning to me.
"It looks great," I assured her. She smiled at me, one of those smiles, which made my heart melt down.
