Two

I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing. At first I thought it was part of whatever nonsense I was dreaming, but then I figured out it was actually someone calling me. I opened up my eyes slowly, the light hurting my eyes. I hovered over Kellin and picked up my phone from the nightstand. Why was Tom calling me so early? Then I realized it was way past noon and retreated my words.

"What?" I mumbled once I answered the call.

"Wow, hungover much?" Tom laughed and I rolled my eyes.

"Yes, if you must know. What's up man?" I said and laid back down on my bed. My head felt like it was going to explode.

"I'm like two blocks away from your place, can I borrow those Vans we talked about yesterday right now?"

Shit. He wanted me to lend him my shoes for a date he had tonight with the girl he's always had a crush on and I completely forgot. Now, I wouldn't have an issue with him coming over, but I had a little problem quietly snoring beside me and I just know it wouldn't end up well.

"Vic? You still there?" Tom asked and I was brought up to reality again. God, I think I'm still drunk.

"Yeah, yeah, come over. It's fine." I lied and ended the call.

Crap.

I dropped my phone on the bed and stood up. My head was still spinning while I changed into new clothes, broken memories of last night making their way slowly into my brain. I smiled to myself though, it was a great night.

"Kellin," I called quietly, but he was completely out. "Kellin." I tried again but no response. I threw a pillow to his face and he finally stirred. He removed the item and groaned out loud. Probably feeling exactly like I was.

"Oh my God." He sat up suddenly. Panic written all over his face. "I spent the night here." He stated and I laughed.

"Yep," I nodded and sat back beside him.

"I'm dead," he said, disbelief covering his face. "I'm so fucking dead." Then he looked at me. "My parents are going to kill me, they are literally going to kill me." He trailed off and then he started laughing and so did I.

"We were so shitfaced last night."

"I think I still am shitfaced." He rubbed his face with his hands. "Oh God. We had sex right? It's like I remember bits but they feel like a dream."

"We did," I confirmed. "But it feels like that to me too."

He blushed as he looked up at me again and I gave him a smile. He was so cute when he did that, I couldn't help but to lean into him and kiss his lips. He kissed me back immediately and it felt like millions and millions of butterflies erupting in my stomach. It was a weird feeling, but I shook it off and deepened the kiss. I don't know how far we would've gone if I hadn't heard a knock on my door, which startled me. I jumped from the bed and Kellin started pulling his clothes back on.

"Shit, go into the bathroom." I whispered to him and he nodded, quickly making his way into the adjacent room and softly closing the door behind him.

Fuck Tom, honestly.

I opened the door and I saw my mom standing there with a glass of water and some Advil in her hands.

"Are you alive kid?" She asked, clearly knowing about what I was up to last night. She never got mad at me for drinking, as long as I got home safe it was fine by her. She was crazy.

"Barely," I replied and took the advil from her.

"Tom is downstairs waiting for you."

I nodded and downed two pills with the water she gave me.

"I'll be right down."

She nodded and looked around my room.

"Give some pills to whoever is hiding in the bathroom too, alright?" She turned around and left me there, dumbfounded. Is my mom a witch?

I went over to the bathroom and Kellin was there wearing last night's clothes again. I handed him the pair of pills and he smiled in gratitude.

"Did you hear what she said?" I asked, still unbelievably surprised.

He nodded and laughed. "I'm more shocked about how she brought you Advil."

I made Kellin stay in my room while I dealt with Tom and his first date nervousness. Once he felt he could make it, he decided it was time to leave. Finally.

"Wait, dude did you see the video of Kellin Quinn dancing on a table last night?" He laughed and proceeded to show me the instagram story of Kellin indeed dancing quite wildly on top of a table. I snorted.

"He was so drunk, man. I love when the good kids get drunk."

"Shut up," I told him, quite amused myself to be honest, and showed him to the door.

"Anyway, thanks Vic, you're a lifesaver." I nodded and waved at him.

If only he knew just how wild Kellin Quinn could get with some drinks in him.

As I made my way upstairs I noticed my mom was taking a shower, so I took the opportunity of taking Kellin out of my room.

"I just spoke to my mom," he said as we stepped out of my house and walked to my mom's car. "I told her I wasn't feeling well this morning so I went to the store but ran into a friend and lost track of time."

I looked at him amused.

"And she bought that?" I asked.

He shrugged. "I think, they didn't even notice I never came home at all."

I laughed.

"You're such a bad, bad boy Kellin Quinn." I shook my head feigning disbelief. He snorted.

"Not in the slightest."

The drive to Kellin's place was quick. I left him there and I so wanted to kiss him goodbye, but we couldn't risk someone seeing us, so I settled with squeezing his thigh lightly and a smile. He smiled back and told me goodbye.

I think I understood then that this was probably how it was going to be for us all the time. Then again, I'm not sure there even is an "us" to talk about in the first place. We never labeled anything, I think in the least we were kind of friends. But that's it. The thought made me feel weird inside, but I shook it off and drove back home. I was so ready to sleep the day off.
