There wasn't a single doubt in Glory's mind that Infinity loved the beach as soon as she saw it.
"Finally," the hybrid whispered to herself as she took a step into the water.
The queen watched with amusement as Infinity ran into the water and swam underneath the surface in happy leaps.
Glory took a look around as she waited for Deathbringer to come back from scavenging items to make hammocks.
It had turned out to be a sunny day, no surprises there. Glory liked that it was warm, she felt like she could take a nap on the beach and not have to wake up for years if she wanted to.
The sun's rays reflected off from the surface of the ocean in little twinkles of light that were almost blinding.
Underneath her talons, the sand was soft and not uncomfortable at all. Its white and pale-colored grains slipped through the queen's claws when she picked up a talonful of it.
Glory liked the simplicity of the beach, she wasn't a big fan of the water, but laying down and enjoying the day was certainly something she could do.
The sound of the waves crashing into the beach and the seagulls' cries drowned out any other noise, which is why the queen got a mini fright when Deathbringer suddenly appeared at her side with a pile of large leaves in his arms.
"We have a problem," he announced with a voice that felt booming to the previously calm RainWing.
Glory jumped and whipped her head to face him with a frown.
"Yeah, why don't you go ahead and tell the whole continent," she sarcastically said.
Her bodyguard blinked and a small smirk formed on his face.
"WE HAVE A PROBLEM," was what he bellowed as loud as his vocal chords would let him.
Glory groaned and covered her ears. "Your personality really does suck sometimes," she growled at Deathbringer.
"And you love me for it," he responded with his ever-so-present smug face.
The queen didn't have time to reply.
Why?
Oh, because a certain hybrid flew out of the water and landed on the beach as she splashed everything and everyone around her with saltwater.
"Infinity!" Glory yelled with disgust as she felt the water land on her previously dry scales.
"What's the problem?" Infinity asked with no clue of what was going on but her eyes were determined.
Deathbringer's sister was ready to fight, her wings were folded back and her stance was that of a predator ready to pounce on its prey.
"Oh, right. So, we thought we could make hammocks, but we forgot that none of us here knows how to weave leaves," Deathbringer said casually.
Infinity abandoned her fighting stance and sat down on the sand with an eye-roll.
"Give me that," she said, one of her claws pointed at the pile of leaves in her brother's arms.
Glory raised an eye-ridge and watched as Infinity expertly wove the leaves together.
In less than two minutes she was done, and a woven blanket replaced the useless pile of leaves it had been earlier.
"Nice work," Glory said in sincere praise.
Deathbringer was a little more speechless, however.
"Wut?"
Infinity chuckled at her brother's confusion and looked at the woven leaves in her talons.
"My dad taught me how to make these from the leaves of the trees in our island. The rainforest isn't the only place with trees and hammocks, you know?"
Glory couldn't help but pity the Night and Sea dragon in front of her. From what the queen kept hearing about her father, he seemed like he had really cared for Infinity and Quickstrike.
"Thanks Infinity, I'm glad you didn't turn out to be like your useless brother over here," Glory remarked.
Deathbringer's face shifted from shocked to smug.
"You're right, my love. The world could never withstand the greatness of two Deathbringers!"
Glory wrinkled her snout at him and rolled her eyes.
"If I want to lay in a hammock, I'm going to need somewhere to hang it on, so see you two in a bit," Glory said and began to walk off to look for two steady trunks.
"Seeing as I am your full time bodyguard, I'm going with you" Deathbringer insisted, not surprisingly.
Glory didn't protest, despite her words, she actually enjoyed being in his company. Then again, he was her boyfriend too.
"Seeing that I'm as single as a solitary sea turtle, I'm going back to the water," Infinity told them and then did what she said she would do.
Then it was just the RainWing Queen and her bodyguard walking around the border where the rainforest met the beach, looking for tree trunks they could use to hang a hammock.
"By the time we find a good pair of trunks we're gonna be miles from where we started," Deathbringer said with a frown as they walked.
Glory heard the worry in his voice and let out a sigh, "Fine, we can check again back over-"
"BROTHER!"
Both dragons stopped in their tracks and faced each other with wide eyes.
Infinity was calling for help, and Glory doubted this was some kind of game.
The queen and her bodyguard took off from the ground and flew as fast as they could back to where they had last seen Infinity.
As they got closer, three could hear the the sound of roars and violent splashes of water; a fight was taking place, and Glory had no idea who was fighting, worse yet, who was winning.

Hello, happy Tuesday everyone!
How was your day today?
Not many announcements this week, only that I figured out the title for the third book in the Glorybringer series. It was obvious, and I feel extra dumb for not realizing it earlier.
The Shade of Sunrise.
Makes complete sense, I know.
Night, Dawn, Sunrise. Seemed fitting.
Color, Hue, Dawn.
Other than that, I have nothing else for you amazing readers.
Thanks again for caring.
Okie Dokie
And I get the feeling that you'll never need me again
-Sofi
